  1. APB is presneted as a Open World MMO/RPG PvP Shooter afaik. I feel petty for people calling this game competitive and trying so hard to convince everyone including themselves it is. The first thing anyone wants to try when you join this game is to kill everyone around, then you realize you can't so you just stick with missions for a while until you hit N5/P5. In my personal experience it feels extremely rewarding to turn on bounty besides it pisses me off if I get killed by my own faction players or in a mission. But the fact that I'd be enable to kill everyone, even people on mission or at spawn base gives me an additional rush to that that I get playing intense missions (which barely happens anymore since a while already). The whole point of the bounty system was to put you on the line of fire of everyone and try to survive, is not a "reward" or a "punishmen", is just an additional mechanic of this Open World MMO PvP Shooter, that is far from being a competitive game at all, and it is called All Points Bulletin if anyone knows what does that mean at all btw. I don't feel like confronting with people who likes to consider this game competitive or that complain against "getting killed in mission from someone outside of it", but I really found very rewarding when I can stay on bounty during a mission, survive and then try to kill people and even helping my own faction on their misssion providing a +1 player. Feels like being a mercenary, a hero, an exceptional player and not a victim of an unfair system. Anyways, LO is not listening, there's favoritism listening a small portion of the player base that made them believe they are the only ones that understand this game but you know what, it is not about the "game" but is more about the "experience" it could give to anyone who wants to try it. Some people plays to taste the victory and play competitively, some people likes to have the experience of an Open World RPG in an urban environment, some others would like to feel they are part of something bigger than small 4 players teams and have the MMO experience interacting with all sort of players widely... ...more and more social factors of this game are being slowly killed in the last years, you can't check /who is in the district anymore, you can't add friends that are not online to get notified when they are playing the game again, it doesn't worth to use the marketplace at Social district anymore because there are taxes that you bypass by direct trading... ...now it doesn't worth to even be "that" player that turns on bounty and people would be afraid knowing you will take them down or that someone would like to hunt you down everytime you turn on bounty if you both are in the same district...game is screwed, it is being modified to the taste of that small group of remaining players and nothing that has been made by LO responds to what the game actually means by its design. I wish developers could work on their own instead of "listening" to a community that has been broken and rotten since years ago but hey, I guess money talks. Amen. Now that you mention it, this is an issue. It feels like the developers/QA team on LO are acting compulsively by the pressure that a small group of players put on them, the dynamic of how all these modifications that LO applied since they arrived are showing a pattern, where some particular groups of players become vocal pushing these changes while other different kind of players that are not so organic in their expressions and community interactions seems irrelevant. That's why I think these changes keeps coming in the way they come but nothing else has been made in regards of the "second hand" group of players complains that pops up here and there when they notice some changes they don't like. I still hold my hopes and I think the game will improve with the announced Engine Upgrade, new contacts and such, but I hope LO takes note of the "small" but widely spread group of players complaining about stuff that gives the feeling of the game being more broken than ever.
  2. Can't add more reactions today so I'll just say this sounds great, thanks for the answer, I'll try it out.
  3. That's good news, congrats for all the progress made. What about phasing? Is it coming soon? I think asking here could work and I'm concerned because latency to West Coast is unplayable to me, I'd like to play some APB again. Thanks!
  4. There's been always people against modifications and people encouraging the use of these. Personally I think that taking the risk of modifying anything would put you in the line of fire for further excuses from anyone from G1 staff to get you banned as we have seen many unfair bans happening and any given reason could lead you to get hit. Now with LO it seems the criteria for bans is softened regarding game files modifications and such configs but I still think this as a couple other similar stuff in regards of looking for "advantages" to play the game, either because they "improves a badly optimized game" or because "the game is unfinished and they should add these options ingame already", is causing a mess within the community since long time ago. Probably if any of this was moderated and probably punished it would stop people from publicly expose their modifications but now you are glorified if you do modify your game and blamed if you don't. And this is not gonna change now. And game is not dying, it is in the state it is since a couple of years already, the question is how long will it survive if it stays like this and how much could it revive if it finally improves. I doubt anything will happen but will hold my hopes for the better.
  5. So, if this behavior is "acceptable" because "this is the internet" or any other reason you want to name, then just go through every single Discord community, social network groups, forums and such showing that attitude and using these words. According to some people there wouldn't be any issue doing it, just sayin.
  6. The updates are always appreciated. Yet, there's now controversy regarding the Heat 5 removal/changes. As someone said here, making changes based on players frustration doesn't seems a good idea, because a true player will try the game as it is and try to adapt to its design instead of asking changes over things they don't like. Also in regards of game immersion and lore the N5/P5 is like the core element of the game, it is the only thing that makes the title of the game make any sense, it is called "APB", they call an "All Points Bulletin" on someone that is too dangerous and requires all available units to take him down. That's why you turn yourself on bounty, because you're too dangerous and all the heat from the whole city will fall over you now. If you are an enforcer or a criminal you're gonna try to call everyone in your crew/gang/units to help you taking down a dangerous subject, and that's why you would put a bounty on them. I think is time to bring some suggestions to improve this in the future if we don't want it to be gone for ever, otherwise I don't see where anything that happens in the game would fit with the title "All Points Bulletin". We need a way to trigger an APB on a player.
  7. To me it was fun to turn on bounty in the middle of a mission. /shrug So if you hit 5 stars during a mission the N5/P5 would be triggered once the mission is over? I think what should be removed is the ability to kill bounties from your same faction indeed.
  8. Yeah and that way we add more work for moderators to enforce yet another rule that no one needs and no one will follow, in a small community with 200 to 500 players where anyone using a different language in the incorrect channel would get a warning while also de devs would have to focus on an useless chat function which its contribution to the game is zero.
  9. When I'm in action districts I turn off all the chat when I play unless I need to ask something so I don't have this problem but neither would I have any problem to have the chat enabled while people is typing in french, russian, german, spanish, chinesse, portuguesse, arabic, mexican, esperanto or whatever they want...

    An Error

I agree, quite sure you need a video card that does support alpha blending with floating point render targets (D3DFMT_A16B16G16F), which is indeed required to run this game.
  11. Duuuude...you're the one that gotta be trollin here...Matt is telling you to send him a PM, a direct message to him, with your ticket number and he'll personally take a look at it. Why so mean and rude? That's unnecessary, I can understand you're frustrated, but at least read what he is saying to you! Good luck.
  12. Indeed I believe many people refrain themselves from purchasing some ARMAS items because they feel they'll lack of the skills to customize it the way they want. Some way to trade design templates would be great, but since that's nearly impossible or definitely way harder than making ARMAS clothes tradeable the idea of letting players who own the same ARMAS gear trade these pieces with their custom designs could be perfect.
  13. ^ That's the only part I care of all this. Jokes aside, some formatting could help to read your post a bit better. Now when you mention that there's people you've seen cheating for months it looks like you are comparing their situation with yours as if the people you try to defend were also cheating but they got banned and not the other ones you're pointing out. Also, it makes no sense to state "I see people with third-party software play" because we have no way to see if they are using anything at all, unless you also use some sort of wallhacks that allows you to see them through walls and determine if they behavior is the one of a cheater. Would make more sense if you say something such like "I see people playing that I suspect might be cheating because of x or y reason" and then providing the staff with the information you have in order to let them try to observe the same behaviors you describe and determine if someone is cheating or not. They have more tools to use along monitoring player's activity. What I'm trying to say is that if you need to figure out why is your ban or you want to complain or share your experience in these regards don't mix it with accusations of other players cheating, because it only adds confusion to your whole situation while what you need is to clarify what you did that could lead you to a ban. And you should know what it is. Now if you care to share with us, the community is here for you do discuss about what actions on your side could've lead you to a ban. Also, what CookieP said.
  14. That's good to know, at least something being said that could help some of us to understand our chances of playing the game again or attempt to deal with its current state. Thanks Ritual.
  15. Have you tried tagging @MattScott, @Selali or @Sakebee? Or even @Ritual too. Maybe any of them could give us a word about this.
  16. Mate, you gotta be trolling me or you simply don't read. Or maybe I'm not explaining myself properly but nothing of what you're saying on this last reply applies to what I'm trying to say or how I feel. I appreciate your commitment to contribute though. Cheers.
  17. Well, this is what I'm asking to have a word about. I also thought something in that path is going on but I'm trying to get the official saying, that's all.
  18. Absolutely, I totally agree with you guys, and I already stated that I feel bad to have to insist but yet there's nothing else I can do since I'm unable to enjoy the game when there's indeed an empty useless instance of that Prototype Financial district. I can not stress it enough when I say that I apologize for being insistent but neither can stay quiet when I have the chance to come to the forums and try to notify the staff about our difficulties to play the game. Just for the note, these are the first messages where I tagged LO staff and they said they'll be looking into it and later I made a thread where MattScott dropped by to say they're working on it too, I mean, its been like this since a while but guess I'm the only one who cares. Not upset at all but just a little bit annoying to have to be that guy that complains about something... regards!
  19. I beg to insist, please @MattScott, @Lixil or @Selali (no sure who to ask), shut down that Prototype Financial district and open a second instance for Financial if that's possible. I'm sorry for being so insistent if this is bothering in any way and any help or attention on this issue is in advance very appreciated. Thanks.-
  20. Anyone from LO around to clarify if that's the reason? I mean Citadel/Jericho hardware relocation and such. Sorry for being so insistent, I really apologize because I feel I am bothering with this, but since everyone at LO are so kind and communicative I thought would be fine to post about this issue to get some answers. Thanks again, regards.
  21. And call it "Noobs vs Bullies" or something like that.
  22. Well, that's my average latency so now you know why I spent more time in Social District than playing the game along all this years, lol. But I feel you man, I get randomly routed through Europe some times and my regular ~150ms raises up to +220ms, it has to do with the IPX and how companies decide to handle routing to avoid extra fees from third-party companies carrying their connections, or something like that.
  23. At first I thought this was on purpose due to the holiday event so that they decided to prioritize Citadel servers and it would totally make sense to me. I wouldn't be against it if that's the case indeed but we were told that they are working on this so I trust Matt Scott, I don't think he would doubt in communicate to us what's going on.
  24. I'm sorry for creating a new thread for the same issue but we are in the middle of the weekend and during peak hours in Jericho there are no additional district instances to play while both Financial and Waterfront are full. Could you guys at LO please do something like maybe shutting down the prototype district or such till this gets fixed? Thanks in advance for your time to take a look at this @Lixil, @Selali, @MattScott and anyone else at LO. Also I get ~150ms in Financial (which is normal to me) while Waterfront is giving me 200ms to 220ms and very unstable peaks above 300ms if there's any clue of why this is happening. Wish you happy holidays to everyone! Kindest regards, Sal.
