When you hit all of your shots, which the .45 has both a larger bloom and higher recoil than the RFP. It'll win in CQC, anywhere past 25m it's losing hands down.

Alright, if that's your argument, what about CS:S or CS1.6? Both are 10+ years old, both are no longer supported since years, both haven't been played in eSports environment in years, and they're still bigger than APB despite being released 5-10+ years before. The original Tribes from 1998 has more players, no new content. TERA has more players, 7 years old. CoD:MW2 has more players, no new content, released a year before APB. ArmA 2 hasn't received content updates in years, 2009 release date. Age is not a factor in how well a game succeeds or keeps its player base. It wasn't until like late 2012-mid 2013 that CS:GO even started to become big, and before that 1.6 was the game that everyone was playing despite it being 14 years old, but new content hadn't been released in years at that point. The game was solid, and as such, it succeeded for almost 15 years before dying out. The last official patch 1.6 received that affected gameplay instead of fixing bugs was on June 5th, 2003.

Remove the need for administrator rights in order to launch the game
Similarities replied to Muzakai's topic in Game
Not entirely correct, but it does allow BattlEye to do whatever it pleases on your PC, so you're not necessarily wrong. It is actually only used to reset the NTFS permissions on the config files every time the game is launched, that is all I have seen it do in the game's code so far. I have already brought this up with @MattScott but haven't heard anything back in response quite yet. -
Scaleform is basically legacy software at this point and suffers from similar issues. I have had the UI issues you speak of, though.

314 on November 3rd but back down to ~300 rather quickly, only took less than a day for that hype to die out. November 9th there was 292 though, so we're getting there. There were 4 full dists on Thursday alone and there are 738 players on EU right now. Alright though, let's act like those numbers don't exist and there aren't 4 full districts currently if that's what you desire. I'm not saying LO is perfect or that they have done a good job, it often feels like 2 steps forward 3 steps back, but I do appreciate Matt's communication and the constant attempts to repair the mistakes they make. I think weapon balance needs to be pushed off until they actually know what they want to do with weapons and then just do a huge overhaul all at once, rather than these little by little changes that they've made here and there. If you talk about the game's age as a reason for the game being as dead as it is, you are an idiot. Period. What about WoW? FFXIV? FFXI? The hundreds, even thousands of other games far older than APB that are, to this day, alive and kicking? FFXI has been around since 2002 and has a larger player base than APB. Game age is not an excuse.

Skate high-tops pls & ty. I know it's not expensive, but I only bought that pack for the shoes. -
How about rather than change the gameplay bits, we just make the game actually look decent again? That'd suffice too. The current shaders are just terrible, the color grading is absolutely fucked, everything is blue, and it looks super dull, washed out, and depressing...also bring back tracers, thanks.

Since you're such a security genius with a degree in network administration and think that tracking down DDoS attacks is simple and doesn't take a bunch of time, resources, and money, please elaborate on how we can track & shut down the network that the person attacking the servers most likely rented easily. I can tell you the correct people (including the authorities) have already been contacted, not much else can be done on LO's part. I have had a conversation about this with Matt in the past.

Most of the time I think your opinion is a shit opinion, but you know, this is a pretty good (and true) meme. -
Depends on the VPN you use, and it shouldn't trigger BE but if it does, BE will just stop it from loading or kick you, won't ban you.
-
Tried a VPN? That should resolve possible routing issues on your side.

The idea is to stop people from advancing or keeping people out of areas right, so why is it that the gas is so punishing when trying to invade another person's captured area? Why does it do health damage? You will already be at a disadvantage when entering an occupied area because you're most likely going to be outmatched, and if you aren't outmatched or nobody is there, the gas won't stop you from taking back the area anyway. The gas is just there to be annoying and do health damage, it doesn't stop you from destroying the barrels if the area is unoccupied, and it does stop you from fighting occupied area because it puts you at an even bigger disadvantage when attacking than you're already at, the game is already defender sided so why is it that the gas just adds another advantage to the defending side? Why are you punished for attacking someone else's land? Why even have a closed breathing apparatus if it's ineffective in the first place? The way that the gas works inherently leans the meta (hehe meta slave lul) toward capping uncapped areas, rather than trying to stop your opponent from capping areas or taking back capped areas. I've been playing the event quite a bit, and the number of times I've seen people actually trying to destroy other people's area rather than just capping new land can probably be counted on both hands (outside of taking back unoccupied land, that is,) this leads to a very repetitive gameplay experience with little to no fighting for area due to how punishing it is in comparison to just taking new or unoccupied land, the only fighting I really see is at the very end of the match when everyone is fighting in the center of the map, and that's a pretty fun experience but it only lasts for a minute or so and then it's back to the same monotonous experience of driving around with barrels looking for land that hasn't been capped or blowing up barrels in unoccupied land. This is just my 2c though, and maybe I'm looking at things the wrong way. Thanks for reading.

Why can the gas even penetrate through the player's closed breathing system in the first place? What's the point of having a closed breathing suit if it doesn't DO anything? At that point just leave us with our normal characters, at least it'd make sense then.

Ah, I misunderstood what you meant, I understand what you mean now. I thought you meant the current IR3. Sorry about that.

No, it's not percentile based, they said they were rolling back the positive and negative changes made to the gun, returning it to how it was before they ever touched it.

You can no longer use configs that modify anything in the APBGame\Content\Release\Packages\VFX\Common folder. Delete that stuff and repair game.

If you're going to spread misinformation about mouse acceleration and say it's bad/inconsistent or call other people something besides a "normal human" for playing with mouse acceleration, then you have little to no experience with mouse acceleration and it's obvious, everyone that has ever said mouse acceleration is bad either hasn't tried it or has used bad forms of it, and their opinion belongs in the trash. Everyone I know of that has played with mouse acceleration to the point of actually giving it a chance and disliked it has said that there are upsides and downsides and simply said it's personal preference, inexperienced people just constantly berate it and call it bad and ask why you'd want to use it.
-
Or you can use mouse accel and get used to it, because it's not like it requires a lot of work or time to get used to, and you can get the upsides of playing both a low sens in long range and mid-high sens in CQC. You can build muscle memory around mouse accel in the same way you can build muscle memory around a flat sensitivity. Honest question, have you ever played with QL or Reflex's mouse accel? Or Povohat's mouse accel? Did you set it up properly so that it caps out instead of being a constant upward curve? If not, I don't think you're qualified to so much as give your opinion on whether or not they're good.

Did we trade lazy anti-cheat into lazy anti-cheat ?
Similarities replied to MartisLTU's topic in General Discussion Archive
Unfortunately, you won't be playing any game with an anti-cheat then, because all of them dump process lists, PE headers, and then other things depending on the functionality implemented. BattlEye already has the ability to see every Chrome tab you have open, dump memory pages, enumerate all processes, and run arbitrary code on your PC sent from the master server. VAC does it. EAC does it. XTrap does it. XIGNCODE is a spying tool marketed as an anti-cheat, but also does it. BE does it. PB does it. Every anti-cheat seeing any usage at all already does this. -
Did we trade lazy anti-cheat into lazy anti-cheat ?
Similarities replied to MartisLTU's topic in General Discussion Archive
That's not related to the effectiveness of the anti-cheat though, that's just related to the game, if you program bad code and rely on the client for everything, the anti-cheat effectiveness is not necessarily diminished, that doesn't stop BattlEye from being implemented properly, it just means that you can cheat the game in more ways or use bugs. That's on the developer of the game to fix, not the anti-cheat to stop. EDIT: To add on to that, the majority of the cheats you see in-game (speedhack, aimbot, wallhacks, etc) will still be possible after updating the engine. It's not going to stop the majority of cheaters from using what they already use.
