Because all it takes is one hit to take someone out of a fight for a prolonged period of time? Because all they have to do is get hit once by another weapon before the HVR finishes them off (QSing)? Because it's far and away the best sniper in the game? I personally don't care if it gets nerfed or not, but at least read the thread first.

There are two fixes to it running DirectX startup every time, go to \steamapps\common\apb reloaded\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2012 and delete installscript.vdf, now try again, it should run DirectX setup once more and then never again, but if it continues to set up every time, you can also try to delete or rename the vcredist_*.exe files located in the same folder you deleted installscript.vdf from.

How long has this been happening? If it started recently it might be related to the DDoS attacks that have been happening.

When you get that message, does the circle keep spinning or does it stop? If it keeps spinning, it means the game didn't hang, which means it might be something else.

If it doesn't happen on Jericho during periods of lag but still happens on Citadel, it could be related to a routing issue from your ISP to the game server, you can try calling them and asking what's up.

why do people love getting out of the car to take an aim duel on the way to the objective (being 200-300m out), inevitably die, and then tell me to stop so they can car spawn? like...just why?

Oh yeah absolutely, I also get where you're coming from, it's just, unfortunately, the argument is a two-sided sword, I do think that requiring casual players to look up and download an external program just to make APB more playable is silly, some people won't search for such a thing or even know of its existence which already puts them at a disadvantage to an extent, when I found out about it, it opened up a world of possibility, it also made my old PC go from 20-30 FPS to 50-60 FPS which was a noticeable increase that otherwise wouldn't have been possible. I do believe we need a better middle ground for the casual players who aren't going to go config modding to make the game run better, but we also need to remember that in the game's current state, with hardware being almost 8 years past the game's release, we're still getting performance issues, and a lot of people can't really get the game to run at a playable state w/o advanced launcher.

By that logic having a better PC than my PC is considered an advantage, having faster RAM, an SSD, a better GPU/CPU is all an advantage, because you stutter less often and get higher FPS than me. I could understand your argument to an extent if the argument were that it made the game look plainer so it's easier to see people or something, but the argument being it makes the game run better than someone else's game is silly at best.

Today I learned that the Yukon, Nano, CAP40, Volcano, Condor, Huntress, and UL-3 are "meme" guns. There are plenty of "Legendary" guns that are decent to even good tier, regardless of if they're situational (like quite a few guns in this game are), a lot of legendaries are viable and some are very good and see a lot of use.

It's getting to a point where it's nearly unplayable in some districts at times, FC and Financial were absolutely terrible earlier, everyone was warping around and hit reg was incredibly spotty. I'm not at all frustrated with Little Orbit because there's not much they can do, and having decent protection from such attacks is both costly and complicated, but it is quite annoying.

Matt said that he's worried advanced launcher/shader modifications/config modifications might trigger BattlEye, which is what I meant when I said we can "see what it does and does not like", it'll also allow the rendering community to test the programs they use to dump player models from the game without worrying about the possibility of getting falsely banned. We're not exactly "testing" the anti-cheat, we're just seeing if it falsely detects modifications to files.

Fortunately for us, it'll be on OTW so we can test for what BE does and does not like before it goes live.

I personally chose Obeya because they create the most "meta" weapons, but Nekrova is definitely up there. I also would've chosen Joker because the Carbine is love.

I'd like to thank Selali for picking up the reigns related to things in support, hopefully, new support is nowhere near as rough as old support, and, of course, I'd like to thank Matt for seeing this community and game for what it can be made into and the uniqueness it carries, rather than what it is and has been in the past. Also, in the more personal realm, I'd like to thank swindie (swindle), mcaso (if he's still around to see this), and spee for all the good times we've had in-game and the bants.

flaming gib ban. Also, Bishada is garbage, it simply doesn't have enough speed to justify how frail it is, and the ability to tap the car's right side and flip it as a result is incredibly annoying.
