A threat above Gold wouldn't really do anything even if there was the playerbase to support it. What's max threat now would still be max threat, you'd just have a visual differentiation between someone at the bottom of the current Gold scale and someone at the top of it. The numbers behind it used by the matchmaking system wouldn't change.

I'm at the point where I just find percs funny. Most of the time they're used by half a chimp who's too dumb to get kills without them that an average player would get. These people will continue to remain at the level of half a chimp as long as they rely on their 'press G for easy damage' weapon, so it's not really bothersome. I've only seen a few decent or good players, who are actually dangerous with the things, use them lately. Everyone's going to have different mileage in terms of what bothers them in terms of tryhardism, and you can be damn certain that nearly everyone has been up against a specific tactic or weapon that pissed them off, but at some point in their APB play have done that themselves. A lot depends on mood. I only really find myself wondering how sad the oppo are if they're running to take a draw on deathmatch final stages, running with the item, or organised teams stacking N-HVRs against PuG groups - and honestly I haven't seen much of the last on that list lately. Am I missing something here? Surely changing location after gunfights is a sensible way to play? Unless it's a target they're supposed be doing and are just farming the defending team for kills.

Dude... c'mon... that's such a cop out. Players can't really be absolved of further damage they do to game's matchmaking system and particularly the new player experience by saying "well it was broken anyway!" Breaking it more doesn't fix it.

There are always excuses and hand-washing over this. "Matchmaking is broken anyway." "I shouldn't be gold." "I don't want to try that hard." "All golds hack." "My PC isn't good, so I dethreat to compensate." "My banana doesn't work." It's all bollocks. My belief is that a sizeable portion of the APB playerbase, way more people than would admit, don't actually want fair matchmaking. Fair matchmaking would mean regularly playing people who are as good as you and losing as many as you win over time. No. Much more fun to stomp on players who barely understand the game's mechanics.

They should've been banning for dethreating years ago, but G1 either hadn't the means to detect it, or the balls to do it, one or the other. It's so fucked now that whatever LO eventually do to try and fix threat and matchmaking will very likely take months to start working properly whilst people's threats correct themselves. Not to mention that some absolute cretins will probably still continue to dethreat.

Pretty sure G1 as far back as Revoemag said Air Control was problematic as it allowed players to access areas that they shouldn't be able to. Whilst I'm sure such areas could be patched, I'd rather not see LO waste any development time doing that.

Might make a small difference in a gunfight between two such "pros" if one of them was using low res and the other was struggling to keep up a steady 60 with everything turned up to full. What it won't do is reduce top players to the performance level of rock trolls like me. And probably the OP. Or even close.

Possibly could be looked at, but the RWD Vegas is less of a problem than the 4x4. It's not as fast because of its wheelspin from a standing start and worse handling, so imo it lacks the all around dominance of the fast car 'meta' that the 4x4 has.

Baylan spawning is terrible generally. It was never great to begin with and with 20 v 20 instead of 16 v 16 for the past couple of years, it's just completely shite. The map is not able for that many players. You routinely have two non-red spawn options in a full district and enemies usually aren't far from one of them. Maybe if that was fixed, Remote Det would be less obnoxious. That being said, I wouldn't balance a mod around Fight Club play anyway. If anything was truly broken in FC but fine in general mission play it could be disabled in FC. 4x4 is OP as fuck. Whilst it's not the fastest in a straight line, in practical terms with handling accounted for, it's the fastest car in the game and as you say it has more HP than anything that has a chance of keeping up with it. Maybe the Rapier is faster in the right hands, I haven't driven it in a million years. But unlike the Rapier, the Vegas can tank a conc nade. Cars could use a balance pass more generally. I'm not aware of a compelling reason to use anything other than the Vegas 4x4 (if you want something fast) or the Pioneer or Espacio if you want something tanky that can seat 4 and has a bit of load capacity. There's no way there's enough room in the game design for each vehicle to have a niche, but surely we can do better than 2 and a half options?

Yeah that's totally how that's going to go down. Do you what'll happen to a noob trying to use an OPGL to flush an experienced player off a roof? He won't hit shit and will get shot to pieces whilst trying to figure out the correct geometry. Honestly don't think putting the OPGL on ARMAS will give anyone an advantage. By the time they learn how to use it, they'd have had it unlocked anyway. Might put up the teamkill rate for a while though. No real opinion on the OSMAW because I don't use it.
