- Do the majority of the pop care about money and XP anymore? Most of us are max level. - People intentionally lost matches en masse to drop their threat and join lower threat districts. A 2-5 minute timer or loss of premium cooldown buffs won't do shit to people like that. - Making it harder to get matches in Bronze might actually be enough of an inconvenience to have an effect. Of course the counter argument that you might as well disable MM altogether for Gold players in Bronze. And of course such measures can be bypassed by players just dropping even more threat so they get enough matches at Silver threat before going back to Gold. Whilst your suggestions are probably better than doing nothing, I don't think they'll have a major impact. The only solution is to police dethreating, as has been the case since population dropped too low to support hidden threat with enforced auto-join or harder threat segregation. But the powers that be (first G1 and now LO) either can't do it, as in they don't have the necessary tools, or won't do it.

Merged thread - Removal of several reactions

If you dislike something, reply to it and say why you dislike it. If you dislike it a lot, call the person who said it a fornicating baboon. There you go, dislike button replaced. -
Because they're twats. Anything else is a bullshoot excuse. People can go on about small population and matchmaking, but this was also happening when we had 4 - 5x as many players as we do now and there was enough for players to get matches in Silver district. I never did it and I'm nowhere near the top of the Gold food chain. There's been literally 100s of Golds in this game who can kerbstomp me yet I never felt the need to intentionally drop threat to avoid them.

The most toxic behaviour you have seen in apb?

Yeah, didn't they say that APB runs at a loss currently?

Mission Impossible Patch Announcement
MrChan replied to Sakebee's topic in General Discussion Archive
Considering it has far superior handling and acceleration from a standing start than the regular Vegas, I expect it'll still be a better car even with this hp nerf. -

Has to be some trade off for the fact that the 4x4 is a much faster car than the regular Vegas in any situation other than driving in a straight line. -

4x4, Pioneer and Espacio getting HP nerfs? *Dusts off ALIG* -
Wait, so you're telling me that no more bugs or issues will crop up opening up the Beta to more players than are available for SPCT? Sure why does anyone bother with an Open Beta then? Just go straight to release from Closed Beta. Shouldn't be any problems, clearly. Think for more than a second.

If anyone wants to cry about it being a stress test, don't bother trying to log in and leave it to people who actually want to get in and give grown up feedback.

About threat segregation... again.
MrChan replied to HighSociety's topic in General Discussion Archive
I said at least 4 years ago that threat should be hidden and auto-join enforced to put people with broadly the same threat as each other. This would result in: - More difficulty dethreating since you can't track your threat loss, or intentionally join a Bronze district once you've gone from Gold to Silver - Less point in intentionally dropping to Green threat so you can show off your R255 Green symbol as some class of achievement - Less threat 'obsession', such as giving up before a shot is fired, Gold players trying to remove Silver players from their team etc. - Better in-district matchmaking Sadly, I think the playerbase has declined to the point that enforcing auto-join isn't viable anymore, but hiding threat is still an option. Obviously, hiding threat without auto-join would require removal of district segregation, since you can't see threat. We'd still possibly achieve nos. 1 - 3. -
PC Part Picker puts it at about €2500. Not an exact figure without knowing what mobo and case, and exactly which brand of SSD and liquid cooler, were used.

ALIG is most pro weapon in APB.

You're welcome. Glad I could be of service.

A word of caution about the Open Beta
MrChan replied to MattScott's topic in General Discussion Archive
Yep, gonna lay off trying to rejoin for a bit. As more characters get copied over it should free up. -
A word of caution about the Open Beta

Probably most of the game's active population is trying to join at once, can't say this is exactly a surprise under such circumstances. Good stress test for the login servers. I got as far as entering a district before it hung there. -

It is actually trying to contact the login server though, so that means something is active. I suspect pure numbers are overloading it. -
APB Tourettes. We've all had it at some point. As NoobQueen says, you should try uninstalling if you want to enforce a break on yourself. Sure, you might end up re-installing in a bout of nostalgia and poor impulse control but re-installing will be an inconvenience and a time sink, and you're could just as likely end up making a new account if support let you delete your old one, as you are to reinstall if you delete the game. I suppose if you really wanted to, you could make a new email account, see can you associate your APB account & its recovery options with that email. (idk if they let you do that easily cos of account selling / stealing). Then if you can do that, change the password for both your APB account and the email address you've now linked to it to random keystrokes that you couldn't possibly re-produce (something like: aklshgo[ashgl'asngjap'stgu-81= 9) to lock yourself out. There's a chance you could get it back via support at some point in the future, but it's quite possible that you'd lose it permanently. Definitely try uninstalling it first and see does that keep you away without losing all your progress.
