  1. If memory serves, that's normal for trying to access the game via Steam Login during maintenance downtime, since your login is piggybacking SteamAUTH for that. If you attempt to enter your credentials for your account manually using the normal login above, it'll throw the normal maintenance error 7 or error 8 (depending on the maintenance stage).
  2. More likely to see the bonus day of Premium than the Joker Mystery Boxes, especially since they're releasing a new one with this patch.
  3. Hopefully we can see most (if not all) of these return with the Engine Upgrade™ in the future. We've already got confirmation on tracers, abut tire smoke and environmental effects would be nice too...
  4. Premium price for an incomplete weapon, have you never seen such amazing deals?!
  5. The lack of punishment for killing a stunned enemy is an issue that has existed since the beginning. It severely impedes less than lethal gameplay, another thing in the long list of reasons people don't bother with it (despite how strong it can be). Demerits would be pointless though, as nobody cares about demerits as it is. They don't actually hurt you in any way, they don't reduce your mission rewards or anything. In fact, they actually help you because they reduce your threat gains (which is why demerits are highly sought out by dethreaters). There's only one actual solution to the stun killing issue, and it's a really tough sell for many reasons. Killing a stunned enemy triggers kick to lobby, similarly to teamkills and suicides. This would instantly cause people to stop killing stunned enemies, fixing the problem. However, there's then the question of how strict will it be? Requiring five stun kills like the existing systems means it'd never trigger in the overwhelming majority of cases, so it would be pointless. Kicking on the first stun kill would be a problem, because there's plenty of times the stun kill isn't actually intentional (the LTL'er and lethal user happen to be going for the same target, LTL manages to get the stun right before the lethal kills them). So maybe two? Three? It's hard to say, and ultimately depends on how skilled the LTL user is in getting their stuns. The average LTL'er won't get many stuns, so a higher number is increasingly less useful for this... but then there's career LTL'ers like myself who constantly get stuns and thus lower numbers would potentially cause our non-malicious teammates problems.
  6. Wonder if it'll come back after the Engine Upgrade™ like with tracers? Would be nice...
  7. Actually, Fortnite's BR has already started losing players. Many people don't like the direction it's been taken. It's not a mass exodus or anything though, and the game is still incredibly popular at all levels of play.
  8. Welcome to what happens when a company refuses to take even the most basic moderation action, for any reason ever.
  9. The ATAC is a 2slot. On top of that, it's the same price as the proper 3slot gun. It doesn't count, as it's worthless for anyone at the gameplay stage that these guns are relevant to.
  10. The last thing the industry needs is more battle royale knockoff garbage.
  11. Simply revert the range buff it was given years ago (bring it back down to 30m from the 40m it's at) and it'd be fine.
  12. Only one actual gun in the first wave? That's unfortunate, was actually kind hyped about this but now I just don't even care.
  13. People who have played 1000+ hours on a game that's barely even alive and all you see that loyalty valued at is barely even a single account-bound gun? Are you being serious? That's laughable at the highest degree.
  14. Pretty sure any legitimate anti-cheat would have a clause in their contract that would allow for termination delay in cases like this. One of the first things you learn in IT is that "bad stuff happens, no matter how careful you are". So since something went horribly wrong with this patch, it's likely that Little Orbit's contract with BattlEye has triggered such a clause and thus they're given a grace period where they can still use their anti-cheat service for some duration of time while they go about fixing the issue. That being said, there's also the possibility that Little Orbit just simply paid for an extension, which gives them more time to work on the problem without having to stress out or worry about an imminent deadline. Corporate America is cancerous, but it isn't always that bad as common public perception would have you believe. It's honestly more akin to a game, and if there's one thing gamers know it's how to beat games.
  15. Seriously @MattScott you need to take this to heart. Advertising this game before the engine upgrade (and associated umbrella of fixes) would be just about the absolute worst action you could take. This is pretty much the core reason the game is in its death throes as it is, you definitely don't want to agitate that if you actually care about the game's future.
  16. It's one of the things that was confirmed by Matt during that first month when Little Orbit took over the game and was at the peak of communication.
  17. Now this, this I can get behind with full support. More weapon customization is one of the things that's always been missing from this game.
  18. I'm pretty sure that's an almost universal wish. Tracers added a lot to gameplay. Also, I share that as the one thing I would wish return. That being said, tracers existed in the early days of the game's relaunch under GamersFirst. They removed them because "performance issues" or some such nonsense. I don't think I'll ever really understand why people care about this. If you mod your gun, its muzzle flash is now blue. However, since modding your gun is mandatory progression, everyone's gun has blue muzzle flashes. There's nothing unique or interesting about the mechanic.
  19. A lot of the guns released later on use the sounds of the vanilla guns (some direct copy, some slightly tweaked). These guns really deserve to have their sounds replaced with unique ones. Great example of this is the Mountie series, which simply use the FBW sound.
  20. Has Little Orbit really not figured out that gamers on the whole don't want this garbage in their games?
  21. Yes, the range shown is incorrect. Just like most stats shown on ARMAS (when stats are even shown at all).
  22. Except navigation is pretty much unchanged, the only real difference is the JMB tab is now first and doesn't have sub-tabs.
