quote thing in this forum is shite. Bxnnxd is right, getting the playerbase of any game to do what you want is like herding cats, you need to give them a reason to do something. In APB's case the community is so starved of attention that even just a "everyone gets a pat on the back" would probably suffice short term... Objective in the district, give focus, give reward of some sort of completing x amounts. it's only a start right now, i'm sure they have plans for the future.
-
We can't know unless we play it with those changes. But there are lots of ammunation sources, i mean you won't be run out of ammo easily again. Plus dying means quick ammo storation in APB. But as i said we can't know unless play with it. dying does, but you don't take kevlar if you WANT to die, so you are able to live longer, but have to make it count.

Negative effects that you offer are not enough in my opinion. -25% Stored ammo is nothing beside 30% damage reduction. Fair enough, what you thinking -50% at level 3 or more?

I am a huge advocate of the Gang warfare idea, faction v faction, capture points (use the spray points) control map areas and by the end of a timer the factions get a relevant boost to, money or rep gain or something immaterial, maybe even a bonus item for rental for a time period related to the % of area they held. but that is another thread (well it can be the same one but baby steps) OCD (Open Combat District) needs a focus, a global objective that will get everyone fighting for a reason, rather than just doing jumps and shooting their friends for the lulz. Add a Capture area objective, Filler bar, longer than normal, maybe takes 5 mins of constant presence to capture it. Repeat this a few times (maybe go for 30 mins, so 6 points) Winning side get Cash benefits or maybe an item in the mail (lease for a jmb special or the new weapon you are testing/selling) it probably isn't a huge change (snowball event isn't it?) and it would encourage activity by rewarding participants and the faction. (so cash reward for participants, item reward for whole faction when playing in that district or whatever) anyway, that's the idea, have a poke at it, discuss below.

Kevlar making you slower is sensible because you are wearing heavier armour, heavier armour = moving slower, simples. Flakk Jacket retains speed, but costs you grenades and only reduces the effects of explosives, it's a trade off with Kevlar at that point. then you of course have Fragile making you faster but die easier. 3 health mods, different benefits/penalties making weapons unable to equip wouldn't really make all that sense, less stored ammo might work? because with Kevlar you will be alive for longer, giving you a higher chance to run out of ammo. 10% Damage Reduction -15% Stored Ammo 20% Damage Reduction -20% Stored Ammo 30% Damage Reduction -25% Stored Ammo or something along those lines?

Did I miss you you recruiting in the past month or so? There was only 3 or 4 before and I talk to 2 of them when I am on we currently have 54 members online on discord right now, a lot of them will be working true enough, clan's not dead by any stretch of the imagination, they might not all be playing APB though, EU frequently has multiple teams playing, 8-12 in the evening, NA should be similar. Either way the new Management and Patching potential that LO have brought is bringing back members who got fed up of G1's lack of everything, especially effective anti-cheat and banning practices. lag fixes and 3.5 you'll see a lot more WASP , 4.0 we will probably all be dead, but our Grandchildren will play!
-
erm ok, i dont remember our clan being dead but i suppose you are the expert right? dont know how you can have less than no cheaters... in game or in general? i am a Community Manager of WASP, the individual games have in game leaders. WASP in APB is the clan of choice for hackers and cheaters. They infested APB and are the most hated clan by the community. The reason they are so few now is cause most of them got banned. now now, no need for the salty butthurt lies. https://wasp-inc.com - Still Alive, you cant get rid of us with your tears of pain, sorry.

edited OP to make the idea clearer

Yes, Reduce the damage rather than giving you a higher health pool, though at first it seems like one and the same, the damage reduction ends up being far more flexible from a play style point of view, you can survive longer with Kevlar and because you are being damaged less, you have more health after you get shot, meaning less downtime when you regen, which to me sounds like a much better situation than right now. Less sitting duck, more slow Juggernaut , the only thing i could think to tweak on top would be to make your top speed slightly higher (than right now with kev) and keep the slow acceleration (like a car with armour plates)

1-19-6 - Quick Changes for Live this week
Seadee replied to Beastie's topic in General Discussion Archive
a voice on the wind whispers "% based IR, short range weapons should stay at short ranges" anyone else hear that? -
this has been suggested in the mega thread, but i say the spray points work as good area capture locations.
-
It would be interesting to see new modifications appear in game, there is already a plethora of vehicle specific weapons, this could open to door to more versatile options or more tailored choices, the drop off reduction also makes it more dangerous to engage vehicles as the chance to be run over increases exponentially
-
Have Kevlar reduce incoming damage rather than increase health, the health pool remains the same (1000) but with the reduction in Incoming damage you can survive slightly more shots, the key here though is that when you do take damage and get into cover, you are actually less damaged than an equivalent none kevlar user (at the moment a 850 hit is a 850 hit kevlar or not) this means you have less down time whilst you regen. This subtle change to Kevlar's properties, makes it slightly more worthwhile without completely breaking it... 4 second delay, then just under 5 seconds to regen (595) rather than almost 7 (850) - (rough guess wont be 100% accurate) probably needs more work, but there is the basic idea.

Are you guys ready for tomorrow? (Well...in 6hours?)
Seadee replied to Keshi's topic in General Discussion Archive
at least as a minimum future weapons should be tested properly before being released, thus preventing horrible issues like the Trouble Maker and the Yukon -
as in every thread about the "Mirage" ...

Let's talk: OTW Improved Rifling
Seadee replied to DouglasFalcon's topic in General Discussion Archive
Probably been suggested but I'm on mobile and can't be bothered to trawl... Why not make the range improvement on IR % based rather than a flat gain. Then short range weapons will only marginally benefit it but still gain a benefit. -

the parts with red and blue team, multiple flag locations. (tbh its not all that clear from any of the videos i can find, but i suppose its not all that different from Unreal Tournament's Assault and Domination game modes)
