  1. i remember when Oblivion first came out, it was amazing at first but essentially you are just falling into a hole strapped to a seat, Nemesis was far better... man i've not been to Alton Towers in a long time.
  2. SSD and a Hydro 50i unlocked helps so much, the sealed watercooling stuff is great if you can get it, not too expensive either.
  3. 8 years ago, my pc was 2 years old, it still ran APB better than that, now, not such an old pc... Overclock that CPU and unlock your potential (get it to 4Gz+) you can do it! dont let me stop you making videos though!
  4. whoa, whoa, whoa... what? how do you even sleep at night?
  5. hit play, video potato, closed video.
  6. Varzuga > Vaquero > Morai > Pioneer > 4x4 > Mum Van > Kurai > rest
  7. Some of you might remember this but for those that don't, you press the button, it randomly generates your loadout, helpfully gives you a link (now to APB vault) to that weapon in that mod loadout and its stats! http://www.umoldbro.com/
  8. Yeah bring back the Laser Rifle that it was in RTW! (or maybe not, it was far too powerful)
  9. not being funny but APB runs at 80-100 fps if you have a decent CPU, over clock that motherfluffer to 4Ghz or higher to unlock god status, not even having to use potato settings like some people do. ^ This is sounds about right.
  10. like in Shadowgun ? (if you ever played it) sort of "Tug of War" game mode or something like that, its fun, would work well for APB on a timed match basis (otherwise it could go forever!) i think in shadowgun you have attrition points, the more points you own the faster the enemies points goes down. though this sort of thing would work quite well on the fightclub maps or even a big district style (i think you could make a clan war/crim v enfo mode on any of the main maps by setting spray points as the capture locations. it becomes "clan wars" because your actively advertise whatever you spray on the point, you could easily do it as your clan, the people who do the work get their advertisement up, but it involves the whole faction so everyone gets rewarded not just the clan players, win win?

    Old threat system

but that just means the range of that players skill is like silver 8 to gold 2 , if you go someone who is gold 6 to gold 10 a few bad missions they still stay gold, they would have to have a lot of bad missions. like dethreaters, for them to get to Bronze, if they were in fact high gold, they would have to endure loss after loss after loss, it would be easier and more fun if they just played in silver and took a few losses to superior players, any golds you see in bronze, are at best low silver who are just abusing the system. i'm and advocate of just doing away with the gold/silver/bronze system, giving the skill rating number (like other games 0-2000 or whatever) and showing a persons rank too just to prove a point. then balancing the districts over the ranges of skills... i did a chart a while ago. essentially it was instead of having your districts based on the colours, you do it so its like Green = 0-500, Bronze = 600-1500, Silver = 1600-2500, Gold = 2600-3500 Beginner : 0 - 800 Intermediate : 900-1800 Advanced : 1900 -2800 Expert : 2900 - 3500 you'd get a good mix of similar skilled players in each district, sure some might be a bit better, but it would balance the games (provided there is the player base) Then you could factor in the gear that is available or equipped, but at the end of the day that is completely variable and based upon the player knowledge about available weapons. i can buy a 3 slot from ARMAS, then buy all the mods i need at R95 and be just as "well equipped" as a R255 ... hopefully in 3.5 they will implement cross district matchmaking so instead of 40 potential opponents of hugely different skill levels, you will have a 100-200 opponents of EXACTLY your skill level. (this is the best solution by far and is entirely possible) tldr - ranking system doesnt work with small player samples, needs everyone in the same pool to be effective, it has always been the issue, i also managed to break the editor i cant press enter or the up arrow

    Old threat system

the system changed because a lot of people were crying that rank 195 players were "at an advantage" over lower rating, because they got access to higher level mods, despite as we all know, the mods you use make very little difference to the weapon if you cant shoot properly with it or if your opposition is far superior in game knowledge... anyway they changed the rating symbols to represent the rank of the player rather than the skill level... shape of symbol represented what position in the colour you are now it represents your rank and your skill range... it never really needed to show what rank you were, since when you can see a players rank anyway, but your cant see what specific skill level they are, getting rid of colours all together and just showing numbers for rank and skill would just make it obvious but far less pretty. Reverting the symbols would solve a lot of the confusion in matchmaking and its not like the old problem of shaming lower skill players ever went away after the change so we don't need to cry about that do we?
  13. i always imagined the clan contact would also let you "sell" clothing/car "patterns" to them and then they would sell copies of them to your clan for the item price, gives a money sink but also helps out clans who use uniforms or have designers. i'm a backer of clan contact, though got to be careful about creating an unfair advantage (although, being in a clan and being semi organised is an "unfair advantage" as it is, so perhaps it would just encourage people to work as a team, thus giving everyone a better gaming experience?)
  14. it's the only way we have stayed sane all these years...
  15. This has been proven time and time again, higher skilled players making new accounts then using nothing but the STAR and still rolling everyone... Hell i know players who out perform 90% of the playerbase with just the FBW let alone the STAR!
  16. Speak to Wigglie not sure if he is on the forum... but if you can find him, he is a Wizard in the character creator.
  17. in RTW WASP was about 10-15 people, we played every day and were frequently at the top of the table, mainly due to a squad of about 4 people who appeared to have no lives outside of APB, but hell they did a good job of winning. even now we are not near the member limit, but i agree, Zerg clans make things like "clan points" not work, especially if you don;t account for losses (which happens to often these days in the "every one is a winner" environment), causing the points to be per person, reduces the success of Zerg clans without directly punishing them for it. it also rewards smaller, higher skilled clans by making the points their members earn mean something. Hell even a 1 man clan then stands a chance, might not get the bulk of missions completed in comparison, but it would still work...
  18. in that case, "Go to hell Steve, you go to hell and you die!"
  19. accuracy after scoping needs to be broken, need to crouch to shoot with it, cant shoot whilst moving (get accuracy to pinpoint, but not fast) avoid people doing snapshots (which is the real problem) Apply to all Snipers, then sniper rifle players are basically turrets, but that's fine, its a Sniper rifle, keep its damage the same, keep its range the same, keep its fire rate the same. its the mobility that fucks everyone over.
  20. what do you do when you find that the "smaller clans" with 10-15 skilled members are clans like WASP and Evocoti? you could quite easily do a score based on total earned divided by total members... then Zerg clans and small clans would be just as likely to achieve (i got the feeling that the RTW scoreboards did something like this)
  21. i think we'd all like to know the answer to that one.
