  1. that's an interesting idea, perhaps they could and you decide if you want to defend or attack it, could just as easily work for enforcers in such a way that the attacking Enfo's think the point is tactically important and shouldnt be messed with. though i'd imagine perhaps at least 2 points one in an Enfo area and one in a Crim area would be active allowing players to both attack and defend, earning rewards either way.
  2. An idea i had been toying around with for other projects and i figured it might be nice to mention here just in case it is useful or perhaps inspirational for future versions of APB. if you ever plan to updated Maps, perhaps make it so that the players have to interact with the areas that are being updated, a global event as such, rather than just flat out change the map and expect everyone to deal with it. the initial though that triggered this for APB was .. Seadee: maybe fix the highway, i mean i know roadworks take a while but its been YEARS Whiskey: never seen a construction worker there tho Seadee: we'd only kill them if there were Whiskey: exactly so with that in mind, you decide you are going to fix the highway, put in the missing segments and join it up to change the map dynamic, you set an event up before you apply these changes to the map. Crim's have to kill the workers, because it disrupts the city and throws it into chaos, enforcers protect, after a few weeks of this back and forth, the map is updated, rewards are given out for participation, you could have the relevant "defenders" dependent upon the area of the map that is being modified, you could even go as far as having an Alternative art style depending on who wins, you could then work that into an event in the long run. Personally i always like the idea of a dynamic event driven environment, even something as simple as number of footfalls should effect the environment. Hypothetical game here : two towns either side of a forest, both player built, players move between towns to sell and buy goods, a lot of people will follow a set path, quickest path, so this one becomes worn (like real life) then you get to a "critical mass" and enact a sort of road building event, where npc's are making a proper road (thematically for the game) mobs try to stop them, you stop the mobs, the road will build regardless, but it will be faster if the guys dont die all the time, you now have a real road, maybe things move faster on real roads, even if you didn't do an event and just every few patches you took the stats and updated the environment, town is bigger because more players hang out there, roads appear due to traffic between towns, more monsters attack because of higher available sustenance (people) tl:dr - you set a plan for bits of the map to change, have some sort of event, certain areas are Enfo or Crim, so those are the defenders in their respective areas, run this global event for a month before the patch that will update the map, boom everyone "feels" involved, gets some sort of reward and its "lore appropriate"
  3. you are not alone and yes the T25 would probably be what i would give them, or the Dolton Montane just to keep it to more of a "starter" feel.
  4. I am quite happy to hand asses to people, i'm there sitting in gold waiting for opp and get nothing, i've got to step down to silver just to get any kind of opposition, it's almost never a fair match. people need to get their asses kicked for a while to even out their score, thats why they have such a problem, they THINK they are better than they are, i know there are many people better than me, who i just cant compete against, but its fun to play them because hard mode is best mode. all those people who are clearly higher skilled but for some reason ENJOY playing in those low ranges, i just dont get... do they start a new game then select easy mode and after completing the game reassure themselves with a pat on the back and a job well done? pah sickens me, now i dont mind when people ARE that "bad" at a game, but it's easy to tell in APB that most are just poopy butt holes, fair match making WILL "upset" those people, but at the end of the day they dont deserve the chance to whine about "fair" match making when they spend their time messing up the system. the whole system doesnt work BECAUSE of the people who make it their business to be poor sportspersons. RAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH tl:dr - yeah and they deserve everything they get.
  5. Minor solution to save hurt feelings, as soon as your rank changes to gold, you get kicked from that district and are no longer able to join it. this of course makes all sorts of people cry, which is why the real solution is to have a better spread of skill districts rather than a hard gold silver bronze, you'd need a Intermediary district for each of the levels as a transition zone, but to do that effectively you need better control over where you can put and how you match people. tl:dr - when LO make cross district match making a thing, you will find all this issue disappear.
  6. Nah you are one of the good guys, wouldn't hate on you for being passionate about the game. sure there is a lot more to it, but it certainly is a good indicator, i know that at least 4 of the people in the list are passionate about the game on a level that goes beyond healthy, i'm sure the others are similarly afflicted. i'm quite passionate about the game, i know quite a lot about it, but i wouldnt say i'm terrible skilled at it, i've also lost a lot in my reactions because of my lack of time to play the thing, as soon as my kids dont want my attention any more i'll be back... can LO keep it going for another 15 years?
  7. Why are you confused? it was a passive aggressive joke at the people who spent a lot of time saying how they hate the game and that they don't play it any more, yet for some reason sit around on the forums all day making posts. and i would say that time spent playing the game and learning it would show a person with game knowledge significantly more than quantity of forum posts...
  8. since when was forum posts the benchmark for actively playing a game? if anything, going by some of the more frequent posters here, i'd say its a good indicator of NOT playing the game. most of the choices have clear reasons to me and they are more to do with ability in game and their wealth of extensive knowledge due to the amount of no-lifing they do (no offence guys) if they quoted their total hours of APB played then i'm sure it would dwarf the majority of people here right now, especially when you consider that some of those names have been around since the very start. And tbh, you'd probably want to balance the game around a team that knows what they are doing together, avoids problems with combinations that you cant see from just numbers.
  9. i didnt get chance to log in, so i'd be fine with giving it to everyone who attended/logged in during that time rather than just everyone, seems unfair for those who didnt log in to get a reward for something they had no part of.
  10. it only improves on the already dull fight club experience making balanced teams and allowing it to actually possibly be useful in the future for more mini game modes. I approve. ruining immersion... they are talking about fight club, it's basically got nothing to do with APB as a game concept, might as well be a different thing completely
  11. i know harassment is not a nice thing, but really? "salty whispers" from some kid saying that you suck because you beat them, are people really that delicate these days that a bit of childish behaviour gets to them this much? i mean logically think about it, YOU suck because THEY lost? what does that make them? ... if its physical abuse, what do you think they are getting out of it, if you don't react to their behaviour or you just move onto something else then you take away their fun, they want you to rage about it, just take a breath, mentally tell them to get stuffed and play on, elsewhere, or not at all. really is a waste of time getting hung up on these issues, especially in an online game, it's not like the person knows where you live or meets you in real life where you can no escape, even then, you call the police or contact the appropriate adults (if you are still a kid) report them, take screen shots, if its against ToS they will be banned, move on with your life and become a stronger person and remember they are the only losers in this scenario.
  12. on the OTW wasnt it? not released released.
  13. no one can ever win this, 4 years from now, i will remember the thread and Necro it, you might as well just give up now.
  14. Why? Why? Why? What? Why exactly? What? Why? Be more constructive with your feedback, please, why? Why? so you don't want the game to be fair for vet players and more accessible for new players as well as potentially increasing revenue in a constructive way so that it can keep being developed and become the game we want to love? If you think having OP weapons and winning because of crutches is the "purpose" of the game, then i think you might have missed the point a bit.
  15. it sounds trivial but you are not wrong, even if its the CR5 3 slot (thats gold isnt it) people still think its something different, i mean one way to possibly solve that (which would require some effort of sorts) would be to allow you to inspect players from the scoreboard, then have ACTUAL weapon stats in the weapon profiles. so they can look and see "oh its just an ntec" Maybe, but then that would be slightly counter productive, who would pay for anything if they can grind the perm for free? you've still got to make it worth spending real money on the game, but you have to make it so that those players are not at an advantage when it comes to PvP. proper match making can fix this sort of issue as well, if it accounts for all weapons and equipment that that player has immediately available to them (as in all weapons/mods/cars in your inventory/locker) as well as their skill level, spread across the whole player base, not just the one district, but that is a different conversation for a different thread.
  16. but the problem is that people on the outside dont give the game a chance, because it doesnt look like it warrants it. LO need to make the game appear as it is and iron any discrepancies out, there is no point trying to defend it by saying things like "well its not that bad" it either is or it isnt, at the moment even though its only marginal and its a nothingness because of how the majority play the game, there are people out there who take one look and see the differences and say "nope thats p2w" If for example, every item you can lease on ARMAS had a Joker Ticket Cost as well as the G1C value, then people could see that you can buy them in game as well as with real cash and anyone who looked at the shop to see if its "pay to win" would see that you have everything available to you. there are many other things and ideas that i'm sure everyone has about how to make the game more transparent for new players, i'm just throwing a few of mine out, being a big fan of "this game is not pay to win" i want to make it so everyone can see the game with the correct mindset. sure it wont stop everyone bitching, thats what being human is, but it will help.
  17. Nice suggestions, an important thing to remember with it is not to make it too imbalanced in game terms for premium and none premium players, other than that the world is their oyster. if the benefits for premium went beyond "making your outfit that one time" then more people would maintain it, which means free players (from a business sense) would have more support. as much as people say things like "but i bought guns" or "i had premium" at the end of the day, if you are not signed up for premium you cant be count as projected funding. if people sub for premium there is a set income for that month and can easily be projected, from a business point of view it makes more sense to make premium attractive and free play not so attractive, but this should never be done at the detriment of actual enjoyment of the game for all players regardless of money spent. this is not a discussion about if the game is pay to win, it's only mentioned purely because of the sort of posts you think you are responding to. because of the minor mechanics that really dont make any difference, but cause the perception of pay to win, people slather it with the brush and force the rest of us to make posts like yours. i'm not saying you are wrong, i dont think the game is pay to win, i think there are aspects which could be fixed, there ARE weapons that are considered straight upgrades and are thus better than standard counterparts which you can only get on ARMAS (if these WERE actually pay2win EVERYONE would have them) but when you consider the most common and most useful weapon in the game is an NTEC followed closely by the HVR, CR762 and OCA, you quickly realise how the game is just a bit wonky. but thats the problem, its not US who have to be convinced, its the new players who come on for 30 mins, get crushed, then complain that the game is p2w, write a review on a website, which slanders the game and no one else plays it again. TL:DR - i agree, its not p2w, but it looks like p2w if you dont pay attention properly, which is most people who are new to the game, fix those discrepancies, fix the perception of imbalance.
  18. that could work, only reason i suggested bonus JT was because of games like PS2 where the "premium" option gives you Credits to spend (though i suppose that's like paying $10 a month and getting 500g1c as part of the package)
  19. Premium is nice, i like it, i work and i dont have the time to grind away endlessly at games anymore, with that in mind, the way premium works is also not particularly useful for people who work all the time, but that is life right, you pay for 30 days and use a total of 6 days worth (wow and other monthly sub games are just as guilty its normal) but you also have that issue where Premium lets you "pay to win" by giving you a bonus cool down, extra rep, extra cash and a discount for ARMAS (p2w city amirite?) i dont totally agree with the p2w ethos, the most used weapons are all available in game, ARMAS lets you skip the grind (good for those who want to play without grinding) unique weapons however should be available in game and not just in ARMAS, JMB's should be available to purchase in game some how or the legendary items in themselves available (or a version of, say the same stats and mods but a less flamboyant skin/model) if premium gave the rep/cash bonus and also a set amount of Joker Tickets per 30 days time purchased (based on an average player's grind) but then you removed (or gave everyone) the cool down for orange mods (this quelling some of the p2w) whilst also putting "less legendary" weapons into the Joker Store, priced appropriately, as well as certain mods, kits and clothes ( leaving Vanity items, New or Fancy Car Kits, Clothing, Remodels of weapons in the ARMAS store) you could give a reason to have Premium and also stop a lot of the p2w nonsense. tl:dr - Premium - Give cooldown to everyone even none premium, Give set amount of Joker tickets to premium holders for every 30 days the buy, continue getting Bonus to grindables. Joker Store - base models of weapons (3 slots/"less than legendary"/unique) to LEASE, some plain/old clothing items, car kits and a selection of mods/consumables ARMAS - Remodels of weapons (3 slots) Legendary JMB (gamble aware) and Unique to BUY, all Clothing items, Car kits, Cars, ETC Both stores have the same meaningful impact, ARMAS just has more vanity items and permanent options that are more accessible for people who don't have the time to grind.
  20. just make them all the same (JT and Reward versions), getting the as rewards means you don't have to grind joker tickets.
  21. hey everyone is entitled to have opinions and ideas, leave the guy alone, at least he is trying!
  22. Nice to know how it's figured out I know i'm only 1 of many players, but im not totally convinced by the logic behind the tier system ... now i'd understand if it was T0 - Just Released Primary (Premium Early Purchase) T1 - Just Released Secondary (Premium Early Purchase) T2 - New Primary T3 - New Secondary T4 - Old Primary T5 - Old Secondary then adjust based on slots and mods but what about the weapons where they are the exact same weapon with the exact same slots and the prices are different ? it might be that its supposed to be 2999 and not 2799 so if we bought it right now it would be a bargain! (quick go buy the spartan if you want a CR762!) if this is one of the hand adjusted ones, i guess its because of sales of this particular item are lower and thus the model itself must be less desirable, personally ... i'd keep the base rate and slap a "sale" sticker on it, which would adjust it to the desired level, makes it seem more enticing and less confusing. Thank you for explaining and thank you for reducing prices overall, keep up the good work and maybe you'll win this "community" over eventually
  23. not as far as i am aware, these are preset N-Tecs, the descriptions are only describing the preset mods, but my issue with them is more the pricing being odd than anything else.
