There's an extremely fine line for LO to walk here between devoting effort to stopping the ongoing cheating issue and pushing forward with 3.5; once 3.5 lands, we should have some blessed quiet from the cheaters for a little bit while cheatmakers rush to make something that works for APB. Besides, I'm fine with knowing as little as we do about how LO is handling anti-cheat, as it means the cheaters also have less information to go on. And reporting the stream itself.

You can do 500yds without optics if the wind is calm enough and you're experienced enough with your firearm. There's a guy who can do 500 yds with a 1911

It's easy enough to hit targets at 100yds without optics; Hickok45 does it frequently on his YouTube channel. Typically, large bore revolvers with optics mounted on them are used for handgun hunting, where the scope makes it much easier to acquire your target.

Having been playing since RTW, I can say that all we ever "knew" about it was that it was either "rolled into Financial" or was never finished, so what Matt stated fit the bill; whatever you're getting your information from about RTW's intentions for Midtown, though, I'd like to see it. I've been waiting too, but I can bear to sit on my hands a little while longer. We've gotten more concrete progress and communication in the past 8 months than the past 8 years. From the big man upstairs himself: This is all in line with what we'd heard previously; Midtown was never a "finished" district and was never meant for gameplay, but as a district in the lore it exists.

Matt is saying FairFight isn't a good fit for APB. I highly doubt that LO didn't adjust FF at all since picking up APB, and at this point it's been 6-7 months since LO took over; seems like plenty of time to determine how good a fit FF is for APB.

World of Warships has SuperTesters and Community Contributors, which have a special role on the WoWs forums, and are also under NDA. Nobody cares.

This is really the crux of it; from closely following other major/minor game development/community interactions, I can say that whenever the devs are forthcoming about things that players might not necessarily like, the playerbase reaction is always more tempered than when things come out suddenly.

I'd like to give people a little perspective here. A World of Warships developer/staff member used to run an event only on NA called Corgi Captains. This event took place over the course of 3 days for 24 hours each day, and had ~150 volunteers playing as Corgi Captains for the entirety of NA. You would win some premium currency and an exclusive flag, but only if you landed the killing blow on a Corgi Captain. 150 people for the entirety of the NA server, which has a constant population of something like 12,000 players. "But Knite," you might be saying, "the volunteers could get on at any point in a 72 hour period!" As a player, I saw a Corgi Captain once, and managed to steal the kill from somebody. I participated as a Corgi Captain twice, and had so many people in chat ask "What's a Corgi captain?" "What's your point?" you might be asking. Well, the absolute scarcity of the Corgi Captains never engendered the kind of rage I've seen with this event, and Corgi Captains were only around for 3 days each time. This event ran way longer than 3 days. I'm not opposed to everyone that logged on during the event getting the skin, but neither do I think this kind of behavior from the community should be rewarded.

You shouldn't be saying "fix" like it was a mistake to adjust the Yukon; the RoF outside MM was straight up bugged, it was never meant to be like that. I owned one prior to the fix and I still own it; I felt it was a stupid gun before (and it's still a stupid gun), but at least now it's not stupid because a bug makes it better than the competition.
