I didn't think I was giving G1 that much credit to be honest. They did resurrect the game after EA dropped it, and they did keep the game alive for several years, these are facts and that's pretty much all I said. I'd like to see LO do better, I really would - I'm just not all that optimistic considering what I've witnessed over the last year or so. I'll keep on playing though until APB is finally dead or I find something better.

Isn't that what everyone here is asking for though ? patch now and fix it later.

say what you want about G1 but they did bring this game back from the dead, and kept it alive for a few more years, I don't have much faith in LO doing the same.

Can't say I'm shocked or even slightly surprised by this news, this is just par for the course by now. I've been saying right from the start that LO have been very unprofessional in their attitude towards this game. I guess when making Disney games for 3 yr olds it's easy to pick up some bad habits as it's not exactly the most discerning audience. Right now I have to say I wish we could have G1 back, they had more than their fair share of faults but at least they could release a patch without screwing it up.

LOL since when were video games played by respectable honorable human beings ? Funniest thing I've heard this year. sometimes you just gotta live in the real world and accept things for what they are, idealism will get you nowhere.

Not to mention fuel for your car, donuts for enforcers and crack for crims, it doesn't bear thinking about really.

sounds to me like someone is just looking at the latest trends and ticking boxes, we'll be getting crafting and survival elements next ..........

I get the occaisional salty message I find the rage quite entertaining. Sticks and stones etc. Life is too short to worry about mean things people say on the internet. If you really are so fragile that you can't take a bit of trash talk then turn the chat off, simple, there's no need to censor an entire community just because one member is a little too sensitive.

If anything Riot will be detrimental to APB by splitting the already miniscule playerbase, if anyone plays it that is, if nobody plays it then it's just been a waste of time and effort that could have been focused on something more useful. I'd have thought that by now LO would have had a better understanding of what the remaining APB players want, jumping on the Battle Royale bandwagon was just a stupid idea, there's already a ton of BR games out there without any of the flaws inherent to APB, a complete waste of valuable resources. If you want to create a new game mode give us racing districts.

I see the EU as a catch 22 situation - damned if you do, damned if you don't kind of thing. If it had happened 2 years ago it probably would have succeeded but the playerbase is so fragile now that even the slightest disruption could prove fatal , by the same token if we don't get the EU the game will slowly die anyway. LO's biggest mistake was failing to capitalise on the upsurge in player numbers when they took over, instead of taking things steady and nurturing the game they jumped in and made a bunch of changes that nobody wanted which had a disasterous effect on their credibility.

I'll keep playing APB for as long as it's around, I've spent a lot on the game and want to get my money's worth. I'm just somewhat pessimistic about the future, despite LO's best efforts it's getting harder and harder to find a decent match even on Citadel which has the highest population. I'm not hopeful for the Engine Update because I'm fairly certain there will be issues when it is finally thrown out into the wild, no matter how much testing is done, and this could very well be the final straw that breaks the donkey's back.

Warframe is a very different case it never had anything like the "baggage" that APB has, APB has a reputation as a cheater infested hot mess amongst the wider gaming community whereas Warframe was reletively low profile before it started to gain traction, so it had far less to contend with in regards to player expectations. LO may have the right attitude but this has yet to translate into any kind of growth of the playerbase, infact quite the reverse is true, it seems that when they first took over the game quite a few players were willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, but this optimism rapidly dissipated after LO made a series of early blunders. I think they've lost the trust of many players who were willing to give them a chance and it's going to be extremely difficult to come back from that. No one knows the future but it is possible to have a damn good guess based on the available facts, trends in gaming, etc.

I admire your optimism but I can't think of one single game that has come back from the dead in the way you seem to believe that APB will .

If LO are doing so well why are the servers so empty ? I appreciate the fact that they are more communicative than G1, but if there is nobody listening what's the point ? IMHO they screwed up by unbanning all the cheaters and then messing with the balance when they didn't really understand what makes the game tick . APB was in a bad place when they took over and now things are even worse, there's no coming back from this, APB is finished.

At this stage any discussion of matchmaking is pointless, when the pool of available players is little more than a puddle nothing you try and do will make any difference.

This was my main weapon for a couple of years, but since the balance changes I just can't get on with it anymore, it was a really fun gun while it lasted though - never really super competetive but always fun to use.

It ruined the game because they didn't have the resources to pull it off, meaning they had to divert manpower away from producing new content and creating patches to the EU. What's worse is that the EU still hasn't been released, they bit off more than they could chew and as a result the whole game suffered. If the EU is ever released it'll probably be final nail in APB's coffin anyway, it's bound to buggy/unpolished which will probably lead to what's left of the playerbase abandoning ship. However there is no single factor that brought this game to it's knees but rather a whole combination of things including the time wasted on the console ports, the toxic playerbase, inadequate anti-cheat measures, lack of moderation, being taken over by an inexperienced company who didn't really understand the game, the fact that it got off to a shaky start in the first place, all the money wasted during initial development, etc. All things considered it's a minor miracle that it's lasted this long.

I got a little bit hopeful when there was slight boost in player numbers during January but since then it's been downhill all the way, the current player count sits at it's lowest ever. Nothing is going to save the game at this point, so if you enjoy APB play it while you still can because it won't be around for much longer. The EU will probably kill it entirely.

There's someone who goes by the name Revoemag working for Rebellion ( at least I think it's Rebellion - although it might be Big Boat Interactive who are published by Rebellion), not sure if it's the same guy though - it's not a hugely original name so who knows...

I know I've started a couple of threads in the past that have been quite crticial of LO, but credit where credit's due, -January 2019 was the first month since June 2018 where the game's playerbase grew by any significant amount, it had dropped off quite significantly after that time and then just flatlined for quite a while, this is according to Steam Charts (which may not be totally accurate but it's good enough) . Anyhow I thought this was worth a mention, with any luck it's more than just some kind of seasonal annomaly.

1 v 1's and 2 v 2's are the worst, I've been having too many of both just recently. A better matchmaking system can't come soon enough.

I have no idea what I just read, Can a human being really be this stupid or are they just trolling ? .... a sad day for all humanity, we're reaching the bottom of the barrel folks.

say what you want but this game is dead as shit now - there's not even one full district on citadel when there used to be several even when G1 was at their lowest.

Honestly by this point I think they are totally clueless, this game will be dead within the year.
