Steam charts look like after a steady decline since 2015, there was a spike in late 2016 when the merge happened. And thats with both Citadel and Han continuing to die

Honestly, especially with all the unbans, people would love to be able to merge in game accounts. But thats just not gonna happen.

It seems to depend on, among other things, category. Unfortunately, no one will be able to give you an accurate estimate. Just anectdotes.
