  1. Nope, that's not the one I'm referring to.
  2. I remember a rumour stating it was due to a "secret" delay put in to counter rate of fire exploits back in the day, which then had the side effect of ghost shots.
  3. APB is a 10 year old game. It was released for closed beta a year before your processor even existed. So if your processor isn't good enough, it's the games fault.
  4. The strange part is that the DDoS attacks have never seemed to go hand in hand with the game population. It seems to have always been about the same throughout all the years. That's why it doesn't feel like it would simply be an angry customer.
  5. Some experience change like vampires do sunlight
  6. I don't understand how using that is "toxic". Anyone can use that and I guarantee it won't make any silver turn gold. I'd like to put another incorrect rumour to rest which I've seen in this thread and heard people talk about: Unless someone is using something they shouldn't, Lower resolution does not give less recoil. Period.
  7. My post was to explain why the community is reacting to it the way they are. Did I say it bothers me? ... No. Did I say that I think it "ruins the game" that they speak russian in chat? ... No. Did you put those words in my mouth in your post and then tell me to see a therapist? Yes. Of course you did. I wrote "of course you did" because you may notice I wrote in the end of my post, which you responded to: "What I didn't say, I didn't meant" because I expected a completely irrational reply just like yours.
  8. Let me know the number of missions you won because you had premium.
  9. It's funny that you ask why, yet instantly mention district chat. Cheating is not such a big deal there. It's a slightly different culture. Because of how many russians there are in APB (F2P is big in russia because of their economy), they can usually comfortably speak their own language and it will work out for them, but leaves out the rest of the players, so of course people get annoyed. Put these factors together. But I'm also thinking I don't need to explain this. What I didn't say, I didn't mean.
  10. Focusing on the black gates while the hobbits sneak in the other way
  11. Well you said it yourself : literally everyone has them. So stopping giving them out would make them rare again? I see a flaw in your reasoning......
  12. That is exactly what I just explained.
  13. He's not saying it's not random though. He's just talking about the way it's randomized. For instance 1-10 or 1-1.000.000 is a big difference on outcome (10% vs 0.000001%).
  14. I like how a certain word was avoided. Matt, you could be a politician I think this is a step in the right direction though. It seems most people (incl. myself) feel R30 may be a little bit low, but people need to remember that this is just the first patch with this change.
  15. A couple of sources. The Q&A with Matt from May (starting about 46:00) Add with this thread: And then there were some other sources too I think but I'm having trouble remembering those.
  16. You've always been able to edit any shaders, ini files etc with no risk of any ban and that has never changed. The reason for this is obvious. In 3.5 update, as I interpret it, all of the stuff they won't allow people editing anymore will simply be compiled with the game and wont be editable in any ini files and such.
  17. You're right. In general, I've been hoping they'd look over the silencers for all the guns. Some times it's just the sound, other times, it's the muzzle flash, other times it's the recoil. It's like you throw those effects in a bag and shake it around and what comes out is random for every gun. Sort of. This red comment on the Talon has been on Armas for so long too: When is that upcoming patch?
  18. Or if the other team is in fact STING, then you do not even have to do the mission at all.
  19. If we've waited 4 years, we can wait one more No but seriously, appreciate the updates. You may be a month or so behind but old G1 was years behind. I call that an upgrade.
  20. Soon (without the TM). What Little orbit did was remove the TM from Soon.
  21. Had some great fun with the DMR AV when it was new. We'd use multiple DMR AVs in the team and blew up enemy cars before they could even react. lol moments Getting back to the subject though, the upside to the DMR is so seldom something you're able to take advantage of that it just isn't good enough. You'd need to switch to it, use it for a tiny part of the mission and then switch back again. Not worth it most of the time. Would love to see some love for the DMR.
  22. You can't always see on video if someone is locking on, unless it's a recording from their own screen and not yours. All you'll see is he/she hits most of their shots. You'll catch only the super blatant rage cheaters with videos, those who do like constant super blatant snaps or whatever, but the majority of cheaters try to hide it. Sending videos in is a very ineffective way of dealing with cheaters in large. It also takes months for support to see tickets. GMs are very busy also. You can't really get their attention most of the time.
  23. Thank you! , someone who understands! rare
  24. Dude, I know about smooth aim. Did I say it would catch all aimbotters? OR did I say it would catch the blatant/stupid ones? The facts still stand that FF was a problem for many cheaters and they since I was a member of several cheat websites/forums I know that these cheaters were still getting banned while the cheat developer tried to explain to them that they simply played to blatant. FF worked. Yep, of course. I agree. It's about implementation (and what the dev is willing to pay for). Client and server sided anti cheat together implemented properly is the best scenario. Still though I remain sceptical of what the dev can do on their own. There is a reason there are companies specializing in anti cheat after all.
  25. Yes, I'd like to ask the same question. Among cheat developers, the game developers own anti cheat measures are seen as the easiest to deal with from what I've seen (I'm no expert in this) and here comes yet another game developer who are going to try what so many did before without much success. I'd like to be hopeful but I'm very skeptical.
