Uh, reminder of OP under which this discussion is transpiring: IS GAMING IN NA DYING? ROE IS THE SAME CONDITION AS APB; NOONE EVER PLAYING NA By a Pair of Socks Yeah, we are TALKING about the population of NA.... aka JERICHO. These posers are trying to piss on our leg and tell us it's raining by using Steam Charts to establish the population is exactly the same as last year.... something easy to discredit by simply logging in to see how DEAD Jericho's population actually has become.

Revert the assault rifle changes G1 applied
DedGaem replied to KyoukiDotExe's topic in General Discussion Archive
It's not that the N-Tec is OP, but that tapfire script-kiddies have a lot of cough *no-recoil programs they can use to push it past it's intended design parameters. This makes the N-Tec seem stupid OP when it's really not. Any nerf to it would be doing the game a disservice. -
And if you think APB population hasn't taken the biggest nose-dive and is circling the toilet worse than at any time previous, you can just keep blowing those steam chart figures up your assets. For a FACT, back in the day some hardcore people played with SUCH low resolutions as to be nearly outlines only. Don't tell me EVERYONE who plays this game logs in with Steam, thats the single most overly optimistic wad of hoopla ever posted. Your comments don't match reality. This game popu;ation isn't anywhere near the same as last year. It's DYING HARD AND FAST. Maybe you need to get some reality. Nope. All I have to do is log into Jericho and see how wrong you are.

Nonsense. The hardcore APB playerbase tweaks their graphics to the lowest setting or uses apps that shut down all unnecessary processes like Gamebooster, etc.... ANSWER: to tweak as min/max as possible the best gaming performance... And that above all entails NOT logging in with a secondary continuously running program like Steam. What do you gain by it except a resource drain and performance hit, when you can so easily bypass Steam and log in directly? You gain nothing. Hence MOST people do NOT log in via Steam... except maybe the newer or dumb ones, or the filthy rich who can afford twilight speed gaming rigs and don't care about losing a little performance. And THIS is why most players do NOT log in via secondary programs that drain resources like Steam.

STEAMCHARTS An ongoing analysis of Steam's concurrent players. You realize Steam charts only show players who log in via Steam. There are a lot of players who don't. Therefore those charts only show a small portion of the playerbase anyway and are not entirely accurate as to overall accounts logging in or not logging in. If you are so delusional as not to notice the precipitous decline of jericho since last year... no point in pretending to have a convo with you. The game's declining hugely, because LO can't deliver on it's promises... because a large portion of their returned playerbase was due to mass unbanning.... but nothing was maintaining their interest. Not just that, but cheaters still cheat and now there isn't even Togg's to moderate them... LO can't even answer support tickets. So ASSUREDLY the game is in the worst condition it's ever been in. I HOPE things turn around, but let's get some honestly about the situation Mr. STEAM charts.

The dated game was doing a whole hell of a lot better before LO unbanned thousands of cheater accounts and then utterly ignored in-game player complaints about the now taken over game which makes it really unenjoyable. Grats LO for a cheater playerbase that doesn't invest in your product. How's that working out for you? Oh yeah, throw in a BR.... that will hammer the last nail in the coffin. Merged. When I first started playing, it was before Threat Segregation patch totally screwed matchmaking up the plug-hole... and there were 20 open districts even late into the night. It was a different version of the game, and while imperfect it WORKED. Everything G1 did to "improve" only pushed the game farther from the best iteration. THreat Segregation singlehandedly caused the largest playerbase drop off the map. Once that happened, it was literally the point of no return because nothing they could tweak out of matchmaking could bring back enough players for balance. the only hope of this game is to restore the original RTW files, engine upgrade that version, and have a fresh launch.

LO buys the game. LO throws out the anticheat and installs one that has been bypassed for years. LO granst an amnesty for all banned cheaters... including those banned multiple times across multiple accounts... and lets them keep all their ill-gotten gains, in-game purchased legendaries. Player population shows a moderate surge quickly followed by a nosedive plummet coinciding with the usual "infested with cheater" posts. Jericho server goes into death throes. LO begins to merge Citadel with RU Nekrova. Citadel population begins to plummet. Support tickets are backed up for months. We receive regular updates promising the world and delivering nothing. LO claims the horribad server performance is due to some fanatical and relentless DDOSers.... despite the fact regular server maintenance seems nonexistent. LO lowers the ARMAS pricing and increases the G1c for an approximate gain of 12%... despite the server performance tanking, the population falling off the map... and the ever-present reroll cheaterbase playing as usual. LO reveals a NEW Battle Royal game which promises to fail before it's even implemented. What's to give up? This game is a gem. Everything LO has done to date indicates they don't know this game's appeal or it's playerbase. They tried to mess up the guns. They barely lowered Armas prices. There is no "Engine Upgrade." No one wanted RU players, unbanned cheaters, or a bypassed anticheat that may have been effective 5 years ago. There is no future for this game... hence there is nothing to give up. If LO could find the original RTW code and SERVER WIPE, and relaunch the game like new, WITH a decent anticheat PLUS a team of in-game GMs... there MIGHT be a chance... but it ain't happening, and so... this game... is dead. Cos in 2019 paying $30 for a pixel gun in a dead game is such a good business strategy.

why is LO support worse than G1's support?
DedGaem replied to ninjarrrr's topic in General Discussion Archive
Simple. LO is a much smaller, poorer company than G1. It's becoming fairly obvious they have good intentions, and absolutely no realistic way to actualize them. -
Indeed. I mean, RTW made the game and all. Shame they couldn't afford to host it. G1 did a lot for the game, over time they did less and less. LO has promised the world... and delivered a fart... so time will tell. It's easy to blame everyone when you haven't done anything.

LO's recipe for a sucessfull game
DedGaem replied to sakafiskafnjak's topic in General Discussion Archive
You can now add 5. Spend time developing how to improve macros for the script-cheat kiddies. Since they arrived, they were advised by the cheater community and their fanbois... and absolutely everything they've done is cater to that demographic. It will be far too late when they realize the community which kept APB alive was exactly the people who the cheaters drove out of the game. I mean cheaters don't even like to play versus cheaters. They all hover like vultures against those they can WTFPWN. And it's kinda obvious the WTFPWN community long ago left the APB station... and ain't coming back. -
LO investigating how to make macros work correctly... I'm done. Just hire MrEpicGoat and he can teach your coders to make us all flyyyyyyy. Dead gaym is... dead.
-
All we wanted was an engine upgrade, not an infantile new fail game like Vendetta or w/e the hell that crappy fantasy game they were making was called. Does anyone remember the numerous times the PC version of APB was sabotaged while finances diverted into crap projects? Yeah well I guess some things never change.
-
Dude those were BDO employees. Selling gold in their own game is accepted Asian business practices. In APB however, it's simply a symptom that this new game management is inadequate to control their tiny game.

Think he's talking about after the new engine upgrade changing the code so new cheats have to be coded to compensate.

LO when are you going to ban speed hackers
DedGaem replied to Kbee's topic in General Discussion Archive

It's a crosshair overlay not a mumble hotkey. It used to be allowed, if he's a return player, he may not know that it's not allowed any longer. I still don't see any proof of cheating, I think banning his stream was kinda overboard and why we don't have any population attracted to the game. The overlay crosshair is helpful, I used it a few years ago, but not dramatically so and it doesn't help you win in any way.

LO when are you going to ban speed hackers

^This is why I don't even believe in the Engine Upgrade. FF was on manual BTW with Tiggs calling the shots. that's not even investing in the actual FailFight program. What we have now, is essentially nothing, since well all know BattLEye is bypassed. And yeah, sorry but ANYTHING is better than nothing. Let's see.... invest in an old poorly coded, hacked game, start out by amnestying all the old banned cheater accounts (yes many false bans among them) and VOILA!~ 2019~ Taadaaa -
There's an extremely fine line for LO to walk continuing to rely on an already bypassed anticheat and having cheaters move from closet to blatant brazenly. At this rate there won't even be a gaming population left for their engine upgrade. A totally hacked game is out of control. If LO can't figure this out, all their hard work is going to be ruined. They need to bring back FairFight and put a couple of GMs in-game at random times to temp kick on the fly.

I know this is what we're "supposed to do" primarily using the /report and all, but HONESTLY it is NOT the role of the playerbase to police the game. It takes MONTHS for the small staff to painstakingly analyze reports and look for external indicators of a possible cheat..... but in your face speedhackers should be booted out of district at least within the hour if the company had any active GMs who know how to monitor a game. The fact that obvious cheaters are leveling up and playing for weeks means a lot of regular players have been turned away and are no longer playing. That's as broken as it gets. Unmoderated, dead games always have these kinds of issues. A sign of health in a game is booting the obvious cheaters on the first sign of cheating. Closets of course are a very hard call and take a lot longer. When this company uses the SAME CRITERIA for analyzing obvious cheaters as it does for on-the-fence closet cheaters... the game is doomed, not even G1 went so low as to leave them in game to alienate the potential consumer playerbase.

Uhm, no.

I don't understand why people think this is a fixed game already. Consider it like playing an alpha version full of bugs and exploits and a million old issues, garbled unoptimized code and wonky performance, server crashes and even ddos. But we have the HOPE... That LO is fixing that wonky code and planning to make a far better iteration of the game we all love. Later, after we have a new engine make complaints. Why complain about what's already broken?
