The only gun that needs a nerf is stock nfas
Bambola replied to foscor77's topic in General Discussion Archive
Those people who simply can't or do not want to realize they just have to stay like 10-15 meters away from an NFAS user, they need some balancing. The gun seems fine to me, despite the fact I have never used it myself. -
I do not know what are you talking about, DMR-SD in general is my favorite sniper. Especially if you have 3 slots opened for the best combo of CJ3, HS3 and 3PS3. You can win any sniper duel if you are on about 90m distance where it takes only 2 shots to kill or stun, but even on shorter distances it's a really fun gun to use if your aim is decent. I have to add, Kevlar3 users hate it! Same as those pesky car runners. Besides, you get additional style points for using something rarely anyone does. I agree it's not a competitive weapon but I always tend to use guns I find fun to play with, even if they put me to slight disadvantage, rather than meta weapons. I am in love with SMR-SD, obviously.

The current state of consumables

Those should be also tradeable and mailable. -
This post, unfortunately, has just confirmed my concern about the lack of actual action taken on the behalf of the Support team in certain cases, at least to say. I didn't mind waiting for more than two months for the reply as much as getting apparently an automated response on my very detailed ticket regarding connection issues, given I am unable to access any district upon logging my account for more than a year now.

It's a common sight, a person who has been tormented and harassed in the real life, neglected or simply caves under peer pressure, comes online where anonymity provides reprisal protection, targets and bullies someone whom they perceive to be weaker or more vulnerable than them. It's sad because they just need a little love, yet they get none.

We are all time on the subject, my initial point was the sexual objectification is one of the main selling points, regardless of the way they promote it, obviously or not. No, I said it's a highly overrated summer blockbuster and by all cinematography standards doesn't deserve the spot which unfortunately has. I couldn't know which meme you were referring, usually I do not find them funny or interesting so I tend to ignore them. But anyway, I could never say "every single man wants only one thing", namely sex, spent too much time surrounded by males to know them better than that, I just said they are in general straightforward, put cars, guns, explosions and chicks together and you'll get their attention, at least of the majority of them. The effort to make me into some misandristic feminist ends just on a clumsy attempt.

Perhaps mainstream games are not plainly marketed in such way, which is always a smart move, but generally speaking, watching trailers or playing a game one can't avoid stumbling upon a hypersexualized female character representation, who despite having male characteristics and being dominant, has female body for its most important feature. However take almost any of popular MMORPG games out there, and prove me wrong. If this wasn't the widely-spread case, there wouldn't be so many studies on the subject, pointless even to discuss it. Frankly, I would love to know too, how on earth such a bloated, outstretched and middling, unmemorable nonsense, with mind-numbing music, pseudo-realistic and nonsensical plot, despite having unarguably great cast and mildly interesting direction, could find its place among amazing cult classics like The Shawshank Redemption, The Godfather and Pulp Fiction. Personal opinion, it's just a highly overrated summer blockbuster. This poses a question what do you think a meme actually is and stands for. I prefer to think you're not one of those millennials using popular terms without knowing their meaning. If memes mimic (hence the term meme) a certain cultural symbol, idea, behavior or phenomenon and often ridicule it, it just means those concepts are omnipresent in the society regardless of being stereotypes or anti-stereotypes. Anyway, I felt like I should reply, even if this is totally off-topic. (Sorry Mods)

One doesn't have to be a marketing expert to know things like that are usually the main selling point. Get a chick in skimpy outfit running around with a gun, it doesn't really matter what are you selling, you'll sell it and sell it good. It's enough to take a look at those shallow and superficial Hollywood action movies today. Usually, shooting games have males for the targeted audience and with all due respect guys are simple - are there guns, check, explosions, check, cars, check, big bewbs, check (omg there's even a bewbs slider!) and there you go, you have yourself a customer. Another thing, contrary to popular belief there are a lot of females in APB (yay for the WiFi in the kitchen!), so why would you assume those are two males dressed as females, could be galls as well, dressed the way they can't do in the real life thanks to the twisted social norms. Moreover, going through the Social district sometimes feels like going down the Phuket Bangla Road, and I bet more than half of those characters are being played by guys. So, it works, for both genders. Of course APB is a shooter, but it promotes the freedom of creativity and appearance diversity, you want to be a famous fictional character, superhero, furry, neko, or just a gopnik, you got it, APB lets you to be, and that's exactly what should be shown to advertise this game.

I am not familiar with Steam and how it works, that's probably the reason I can't figure out what "Why." refers to. Having no question mark makes it even more inscrutable. Perhaps someone can shed light on the reasons for this post.

For the Love of GOD and NOOBS...PLEASE!

There are several points you made here which are completely invalid. If there's a legitimate high rank silver and their clan members on a mission opposing a low rank bronze army, whilst having a great advantage in certain situations provided by the R195 mods, how's that the dethreating issue? To illustrate: Item hold or VIP mission, a silver team is on a Pioneer's or Espacio's roof with Volcanos or DMR-AVs, you name it, driving around, the bronze team is in their Calabrias with 556s. Dethreating and R195 mods in a newbie district are two different subjects. Perhaps I am not familiar with the current state of the game due my inactivity, but the majority of dethreaters never went to the lower threat instances to farm new players, they did it because skill-wise they belong in a bronze-tier instance among the rest mid-high silvers. I do not deny there are low morality individuals who actually only prey on the new players, but that's something inevitable. "We all know why dethreating started, it's a classic way of bullying case"... could be also applied to those gold veterans who started with the silver district invasion in the first place, instead of playing in their designated one. The problem starts from the top of the hierarchy pyramid in this case, the majority of dethreaters are just skillfull silvers being forced to fall back to the bronze district due the faulty threat system which marks them gold whilst they actually aren't and do not deserve it. I personally know a few R255 green threat players, moreover even R255s with less than 100 kills, some of them were so devoted to it they have reached the max rank only by mugging and raiding. Some I know from the OC when that was a thing, but I have never, ever seen a green dethreater who does it only to harass newbies. Lurking green district and chasing ram-raiders is another subject. Honestly, anyone can be gold nowadays, it takes about 10-15 matches to get from a Trainee to Gold, without getting even a single kill, being green however, it's a completely different thing, green is the ultimate threat as it is hardest one to get. I believe people who are max rank greens do it only for kicks and for laughs. Five to six years ago when I was a bronze player I was facing gold-plated silvers and full clans on voice comms all the time, like all rest of us, we all had more or less a harsh beginning, of course some people were skilled or lucky enough not deal with it, but the majority had to. Yet the population numbers were just fine. I do agree though, the dethreating in terms of stomping on new players mercilessly has to be addressed. However, I do not see how even removing the threat system completely and hypothetically putting us all in the same district, will prevent stomping on new or less skilled players. That would be an interesting thing to see and a possible solution. -
HB2 on N-Tec used to be pretty much a common thing a few years ago. Now it doesn't seem to be a viable mod.

Oh, I have the same issue for over a year now, despite everything I did, the same issue still persists. I found a lot of threads on the same subject, but seems no one has the solution. Hope you will find one though, and share with us. -
Weapons which needs a rework/balancing | Part 1

Oh, give some more love to Anubis, as it is one of my favourite guns I often use. -
ViVox works in Project Winter so why not in APB???

Judging by the general in-game behavior, we still have a way to go before we reach 12. -
It's important to know the difference between reacting and overreacting.

Finally someone said it. We all went through the same drill, some are still going. However, it's interesting to observe how the community has almost always double standards, regarding... everything. The same people who care so much about new players will go mercilessly against them if they only meet them in silver districts. Actually, the whole problem started with the players who refused to play in their designated district, and when I say that I mean of gold threat players. I remember I got to hear myself numerous times, in the past when I was active, something like "Gosh darn silver, go back to the bronze district" and then seeing their names on the Forum posting "Dethreaters are the worst kind they should be banned". It's a vicious circle, and the large portion of players who play for years and sank tons of money in this game, stuck in a limbo between silver and gold suffer most, even more than new players. Anyway, better players will always (or in most cases, at least) stomp on weaker players, and that's an inevitable thing. Funny enough, the first time I met you, you were a 'yellow' in bronze. We even had a little quarrel about it on the old forum. I am not judging you, just saying you shouldn't generalize like that. One portion of those 's..bags' as you call them skill-wise really do not belong in the silver district. And before someone says "They should get better and improve" that's an utter nonsense, there's a personal skill ceiling one can't go above for numerous of reasons.

The only thing I'd dislike to see are those fancy supercars, San Paro's timeline ends in 2012 or 2013 if I am not mistaken, having any models past that year would be completely off. Given my absolutely favorite car is Fresno which resembles 1964 Chevrolet Impala most, I'd love to see more classics, let's say from the 50's or 60's.

Lore-wise, Enforcers are actually the bad guys there. It's amazing how many people play this game and have no clue what it is about.

Sounds familiar. I also unconditionally support the retirement of your previous Mr.Denim profile picture.

I lieu of a new tutorial, might we see SPCM return for the "relaunch" with 3.5?
Bambola replied to CookiePuss's topic in Game
Surprisingly or not, there's already a fair amount of helpful people doing that, helping new players on daily basis, answering their questions, giving away in-game items, grouping with them and such. You can go back to pooping, we need a new idea. -
Oh, yes! And they could replace lamp posts with huge candy canes, add more fluffy bluish and pinkish clouds, and rainbows. Like, rainbows everywhere. And glitter, of course. Lots of it.

Apart from APB, I haven't played and I surely won't ever play any other PvP game but I do not see APB players being anything more toxic or to some extent defective, than the majority of the Internet community is, which consists of the majority of this planet population. Overall IQ scores have been falling for quite some time, same goes for the ethic and moral values. This is not exclusively a problem APB has to deal with, it's the biggest issue the world today has. And yeah, it's getting only worse.
