  1. Yeah probably 10% could be right. So you guys do have the numbers, so why don't you ban them? Wasn't it that LO can afford to ban them? So why don't they. Also, 10% of the playerbase that does not stay in social district is a LOT. How much % stay in social? 30 to 40%? Lets do some numbers... Let's pretend there's a flat number of players playing, like 40 players each district. Lets say Jericho. Usually there are 3 districts with players, including the social. So 1/3 of the playerbase doesn't count. (35% roughly). 3 districts would be 120 players online. Minus 35% is 78 players. Now... 10% of 120 (because we are talking about the entire playerbase's 10% of course) is 12. So we have 12 hackers, but 12 out of 78 is actually almost 16%. Now extrapolate that to bigger numbers and you will get more hackers and less players playing (more in social). Then take into account that hackers get gold status easily so they rank up very fast and are put against a smaller playerbase (silver and gold players). How much % of the playerbase are silver and gold players? Well now that 16% could be 50% because they are being put against a smaller playerbase, not the entirety of it, thats why the numbers don't add up by just looking at them like you are looking at them. Thats why you get a hacker on each mission, because you are put against the same small pool of players over and over and over, and in that small pool the hackers grow because they ALL end up there while player numbers stay the same.
  2. When I said that LO can't ban the cheaters because they are the top players spending top dollar keeping the game afloat, I was told that it was crazy to think that, that LO could keep the game alive without them. I'm glad at least there is still some sane people around here that have thought the same as me. Also to all those that think otherwise, I'd like to see the numbers, the numbers of how much $$$ does every player spend and who are their characters ingame. I'm sure we will see all the top gold players that are accused daily of cheating as well as some suspicious streamers. If LO even bans half of those the game dies for sure. As I said before, the guys that waste 500 dollars a month on this game can easily waste an extra 30 or so for a closet cheating subscription and assure victory and status ingame for the great dopamine injections.
  3. OP does have a point. There is a cheater epidemic since ever. It now shows itself more than ever before because the cheaters never left the game while the rest of the players did, specially after Battleye was installed, many players weren't happy with this and left. Also, many cheaters did come back again cheating because of the massive unban, which was a double edged sword. I doubt that there were that many false banned players vs. banned cheaters, so I think that from all those that came back to play because they were unbanned were mostly the hackers, which is a loss. So now with less players but more cheaters, the epidemic problem is really an epidemic, while back in the day of lets say 2011 the same amount of cheaters was not that noticeable since there were a lot of real players in between, and people got even matches also thanks to matchmaking. And thats another problem people confuse here a lot. Matchmaking is a problem today because there are no players to match! And also another confusion people make here is that there is no freaking huge skill gap. The only skill gap is learning to use your weapon, aim good, like any other game, but mostly know the map, so you can predict the enemy movement which often looks like wallhack. But high rank closet cheaters in this game have full access to the game's old engine and have created extremelly customizable private cheats, that I have often been offered to use by some clans (clans that as of today have never been banned), that allow you to cheat and look like if you are just superpro at the game by doing a combination of smooth aimbot with camera acceleration and aimbot bloom. Many of them even go around with the cheat on hold/deactivated and when they are up against a match they cannot win they suddenly activate the cheat and start owning everyone, suddenly all shots land, the guy's prediction of your movements becomes extremelly accurate and their awareness of sorroundings as well as their reaction time suddenly is instantaneous. Closet cheaters in this game have become such a norm that they became the community, and created a toxic ambience. They themselves were the high rank gold players, often streamed, and created the hate towards any player that was less than gold, and also created the automatic disregard of anything said from anyone that was less than gold which were of course all players except themselves. Also whenever someone said "hacks" in any post they would just start trolling and flaming, making fun of the guy. This went on for years and it stuck, now everyone does this. The most active members of the community in the social media (forum, reddit, steam, streamers) were and still probably are to some extent, the same closet cheaters that get the dopamine rush by winning in the game and watching those killcount numbers grow. And this is one big problem, because the most important members of the community, to Little Orbit, are the players that put money in the game. But if these guys that spend 500$ a month on the game also spend 50$ extra to pay for a private cheat subscription that makes them pro at it, they do it. And the playerbase is so tiny (200ish players in jericho for example) that actually banning them would hurt the income and kill the game. And if the numbers of the statistics that were posted on these forums some time ago are right, we'd have to ban a lot of players since according to it there is 50% of enforcers hacking, and 40% of criminals. And actually last time I played I did not find these numbers exaggerated, sadly, because I was constantly seeing in every match at least one cheater in the best case scenario, although normally it was more than one and almost always on the enforcer side, also many cheater clans back in business, and many names I've known through the years to be absolute cheaters and/or that were banned for it. And also seeing the guys that offered me to cheat still playing made my blood boil, so I left the game and check the forums once every so often to see how it is evolving. So basically, LO can't ban them or the game will die. But if they don't ban them the game will die, even with the engine upgrade. Thats what I think. I believe this game can't be saved, but time will tell if I'm right or wrong. One thing is for sure is that this guy got it right, even if he is kind of trolling:
  4. It is possible that false bans happened, since someone here said that Matt got himself banned while testing it. But I don't know if thats true, I'd like to see the post where he says this, and people also asked for it and there was no response so it could be fake. Anyways remember that the goat did expose several streamers and SPCT members back in the day as hackers, and all of them were R255 or close, so neither being max rank nor a streamer excludes the person from being a closet cheater.
  5. wrote that other reply almost asleep and forgot the rest lol, I wanted to reply saying: don't worry, me and my friends played without any sort of cheat or macro or overlay always (just like any other game any normal person plays, without any modifications whatsoever) and we never had any of the problems these people whine about. Its very likely they are attempting to get on the devs' good side by playing innocent. This tactic went on for years with closet cheaters and gamersfirst, lets hope LittleOrbit does not hear them and stand their ground with the banning decisions.
  6. With the amount of high ranking closet cheaters in this game that have never been banned that have spent thousands of dollars in hacks and armas stuff, and those few that make the hacks and sell them.., I'm not surprised they'd come here and say "I was banned out of nowhere and I've been playing for 10 years with no problems". So I can't really believe the OP. It will be up to the devs to decide with what info they have.
  7. Well, the APB community is mostly made out of toxic people, that also use some sort of hack or aiding software to play. So them complaining means nothing, but LO listens which is a mistake. Thats mistake 1. Mistake 2 is that I don't think LO is ready to develop a game of this magnitude. I said it once before, now I say it again and with good reason. They have one too many problems fixing the game as if they don't fully understand anything about it. But also they don't look at the obvious problems that could occurr just like preparing to get a lot of people swarming online when a beta releases, more people than currently the base game has. You can't go in there using a closed beta version used by 10 people when there is 5000 people trying to log in. Triple A companies had this problem too, I remember it happening in a couple of games, but those guys at least prepared for lets say 50k people logging in which was double the current playerbase, while they got lets say triple that amount instead, it was difficult to have foreseen such thing because of the higher numbers, but here in APB you have a small playerbase even if 5k people log in... and your servers can't handle that? This game is doomed.
  8. I meant that if the guy is questioned about the crosshair he can just go "its an overlay" while perhaps there is a 50% chance it is actually part of a cheat, and people will have to believe the guy. Therefore he proves his legitness by saying he is using an overlay.
  9. This. The update has a good idea about removing lootboxes, but the % chance is still there. People will still have to spend money for a small %, only now with a roof limit of sorts. The only thing that the 100$ cost does is put a maximum price on the chance of getting a gun. The problem is not just that black markets sell for less (I guess you did your research? i haven't seen a black market for APB, well actually never looked), but those guns JUST. AINT. WORTH. THAT MUCH. For example. I can get a permanent osmaw for 10.000 tickets. But the volcano will cost me 50.000. Its not worth to invest in the volcano. Also many legendary guns are just not good enough to be spending that much tickets or even having them. The ingame auction is full of people selling the legendaries for ever decreasing prices since nobody wants them because of how bad those are. People can barely get 300ish tickets per week through fightclub since there are no players left and fightclub is zero players most of the time, and when it isn't it is always dominated by 3 or 4 people from questionable clans with questionable "skills" that apparently never get detected making the challenges a hell of a chore. Joker tickets are too hard to get right now to spend months grinding for 50k tickets and get a mediocre gun. I rather grind that much to get 5, yes five, guns of equal or better quality than just one legendary gun. You will see what I'm talking about when no player spends tickets on some of the legendary guns ever. Because those are not good enough, or just not worthy if we can get a 100% chance equal or better non legendary version. Buffing the guns would still not fix this since buffing them enough that it would be worthy to invest 100$ on them would mean to break the game with unbalance issues. I suggest you people adjust the prices of the legendary guns in both tickets and % of permanent drop chance according to how good they are, or how strong people want to have them.
  10. Yeah I kind of didn't phrase it correctly there. But anyways, if the anticheat doesn't detect it I can go blatant with any sort of thing, record a video where the only part of the cheat that is recorded is the extra crosshair and show it as proof of legitness. If any sort of aid is absolutely not allowed then people can't have an excuse for something like this. Also why would you use a crosshair overlay?? the game already has a crosshair when it is needed at almost all times, having one extra crosshair just tells me you are into the less than obscure software that enhances games which is just a step before using triggerbots and then aimbots. I have never ever seen a gameplay video of a shooter using any sort of aid of whatever. The only game I have seen this in my 30 years of gaming is just here on APB, the place where I also have seen way more hackers than on counter strike, and that is a thing.
  11. But how do you know if the guy is using a crosshair overlay or he is using the crosshair from a hidden aimbot? Thats where LO failed. You can't know the difference just by looking at it in a video. It could be that the crosshair is the only thing appearing on the video but in reality the guy has all sorts of cheats all over the screen he alone can see.
  12. When did they feign ignorance and catch people? What I have seen so far is a perpetuation of the "no name and shame" tactic from G1 (also they are keeping the name G1, why??? super strange) coupled with the announcement of that the anticheat is on manual mode. This is telling me right out the bat that they are not planning on banning anyone unless the guy is very blatant about it I guess. Also I'm beginning to think that FairFight didn't falsely ban people. Perhaps those people were using macros and or triggerbots and considered those as "normal", some because they had them in their mouse or keyboard hardware. But a macro or triggerbot is a cheat, because a cheat is a cheat. Also a crosshair overlay is a cheat, what if a gun or action doesn't show a crosshair on purpose for balance issues? A cheat is a cheat.
  13. I want to comment here just to say some constructive criticism. I see a lot of you guys have the "Transformers syndrome". Can any of you guys out of the top of your head draw any of the transformer robots from the movies? I don't think so. The "Transformers syndrome" is when you put so many details in a character that it ends up being extremelly confusing and hard to remember. Take a look at the characters from the contacts from the days of RTW APB and then take a look at the characters posted here. You will see a difference. Characters from the original game are quite simplistic or if they have a lot of confusing symbols, tattoos and shapes in the clothes they compensate with unique features and colors. Some of them could be improved because of this, but overall many of the original characters are perfect because they are simple. Remember that a character made for the game should be memorable. (example: who's the new contact? the guy with the red afro). Many of you (not all of you) have done it the transformers way, so keep in mind you could ask someone else to see your character and ask again the next day if they can draw it for you, so to see if they remember anything. As for me, I'd have to modify my char too much to submit something worthy to the challenge, and I'm just not gonna do it, neither do I have the time. So good luck to you guys, I hope the character chosen has something to do with what Joker is about: jokes and ammo, with the white-black-red-green colors. And as for me and my character, I can say it is a very good example of how not to fall into the transformers syndrome, Anyone that has seen my char ingame remembers it and its so simple that it can be drawn in a second, yet it has a personality. Learn from the mistakes of other people! Learn from Michael Bay.
  14. Personally, after the switch to BE, for a few days the population went downhill very fast. But now I'm seeing new accounts with low level characters that are gold and clearly hacking, more and more. Its probably that they are testing with new throw away accounts, and others are waiting for the coast to clear just like someone in here said. But the problem feels is getting worse. There are more suspicious new characters than before. It could be that BE is not that good. Also I'm seeing people that I know are cheating going online like nothing is happening.
  15. This is a bug so old that I can vouch for it existing since I started playing in 2011. Whenever you are aiming too close to a car, the rocket will fire with an angle opposite to the position of the car. It is annoying as hell, as you can see in the screenshot above, and it could mean life or death. One time I suspected it was a broken feature that would stop you from firing if you were going to hit the hitbox of a car you were too close to, stopping you from dying, and the devs just forgot to adjust it properly and add the unable to fire function, or probably realised the best way was to leave that as it was and let the player kill himself if he wanted or he made a mistake (which is the way to go). But then I realised that I was not even aiming at the hitbox, otherwise in the same position I wouldn't be able to shoot with guns. Anyways, it could be hitbox related. So this could be a bigger issue, I don't know. The devs should look at what this is and at the cars' hitboxes vs rockets.
  16. Problem 1: You can resupply in Joker Machines, cars with resupply mod, and ammoboxes, but also in Car Spawners (wtf??) Also you can change weapons in them, they work just like joker machines. Fix this or add Joker machines next to all of them if thats the intention. Problem 2: You can spam explosives if you stand next to any of these Solution 1: Stop car spawners from giving ammo. Make explosives resupply super slow. Solution 2: Stop car spawners from giving ammo. Make explosives never resupply on anything but Joker machines and personal ammobox. (I think the devs took this route, or perhaps its just a bug, because the consumable ammo boxes did resupply explosives some time ago, but now they don't. Resupplying explosives did take more ammo than regular guns from those boxes. Solution 3: Stop car spawners from giving ammo. Make grenades have a timer instead. Solution 4: Stop car spawners from giving ammo. Make grenades have one use per death, only resupplying after you respawn. Make it count. Solution 5: Stop car spawners from giving ammo. Make explosives have a hidden timer until you can resupply again, stopping the spam. The timing could be 30 second, 1 minute, i don't know which could be more balanced.
  17. Well, as I said once and again, all the ones saying they lag are strangely suspicious, like some guy I read recently on the steam discussions that said the same thing and had a VAC ban ....
  18. I think I can read broken english. Translation: "Good idea but then they must ban the cheaters. And I don't see why would they want people who are cheating and are SPCT at the same time, that says it all. People cheating for weeks with high rank accounts and streaming it on twitch. Ban the cheating fks or my break from the game will be longer" She/He is saying that some SPCT and twitch streamers are hacking and nobody bans them. I can't really deny the logic since lots of people were denouncing this at some point. Maybe some were hackers, maybe they no longer hack, i don't know, but they shouldn't be anything important if they were, let alone if they still are cheating. I guess the ones denouncing this just left the game for dead and went away like Eviltara here. With every day that passes I also feel like doing the same after seeing all that.
  19. A military Shemagh (right now the only way to do this is to use scarfs and bandit masks with some tattoos which looks not very good up close)
  20. It could also be the closet hackers themselves saying that BE is worse than EAC and that it causes lag, so they end up convincing everyone of that and go back to EAC, when in reality it is only that their cheats won't work with BE or probably will take some annoying time of programming a new one. I will only say that I bare witness to fewer players online these days after BE was installed, although the really blatant cheaters have already come back but they are few compared.
  21. wasn't it 10%? thats 26ish hackers. Remember also that most of them are online most of the time because they are kind of addicted to the game, at least I see the ones I know every single time I log in 26 between the 2 districts that have people means like 12 hackers on each district, which is a lot actually. With those numbers you can get a cheater on every mission all day. No wonder why people complain.
  22. This could be very very bad. I have sometimes gotten trolls in missions that ask for leadership and the idiot team gives it to them only for them to kick everyone out of the party. Of course first the guy trolls around shooting at us or gets in the way of the line of fire on purpose until someone gets an accidental demerit so he can kick. Happened to me once this year, but being able to kick without demerit would mean that this problem can be made bigger and easier to accomplish.
  23. My suspicions that enforcers have way more hackers have been answered with a big "your suspicions were right" Why is it? Do cheaters feel like its best to use enforcers because of non lethal weps? or is it because they want to feel like a supercop right there for justice and law, and "be the hero"?
  24. Well a way to make it backwards compatible would be to automatically delete all armas weapons people purchased and refund the amount of joker tickets those weapons currently are sold at. People would have to buy again the weapons with the new system and thats it. I dont know if doing this while weapons have modifications would also delete the modification, in which case there should be a way to make all weapons on all players be unequipped of all mods first somehow.
  25. I'm sorry to say that explosive weapons, specially OPGL, is the only thing we have to counter the cheaters. Not many of them can shoot through walls, so spamming grenades around corners is a must nowadays.
