I've been maining N-TEC for 10 years. It really depends on how much is visible of the target's hitbox and whether they are moving, how well you can track them and even a bit on RNG sometimes. I'd say you could do it up to 40m-45m. Up to a certain range you can burst in 2-3 shots and past that range you can only tap fire. Tap firing can still be pretty quick if you know what you're doing. Spraying in close range is often the only option but that's within less than 4-5m now with the current N-TEC stats. Often times you might need to tap or burst 3-4 shots in close range in order to not bloom out too much. Furthermore, its a good idea to just crouch and hipfire spray in close range because that tends to be more accurate. You can even hipfire while walking when you are really hugging them, that still works nicely. Jumpshooting doesn't work well anymore but if they are already tagged 72/85+ you can use it to finish them off at less than 2-3m. I wouldn't recommend jumpshooting in any other cases anymore. Keep in mind that at some point you start working off of instincts more than numbers when you get good, so its likely that I can get exact numbers a bit off without actually testing them precisely. This is also taking some risky moves due to high experience into account, often ones which you shouldn't take at first.

Remote Detonator has a CD time now ????!!!!! Nooooo
Flaws replied to MeganNicle's topic in General Discussion Archive
Of course we do. That doesn't change the fact that it gives silvers an easy way to reach gold by just spraying people down with that thing. Good players can fight anything but that doesn't excuse the existence of overpowered loadouts. -

Its a laser rifle and it is way too easy to use. Its one of the infamous gold makers of APB. -

Yikes. People need to learn to play, man. You can't press 5 all your life. This is only the first step in pushing fake golds down to silver. ATAC needs to go as well as a few others and suddenly the game will become more enjoyable for skilled players. This thread only goes to show how APB players cope with being bad. Its pretty sad ngl. -
Anticheat: What Are The Next Steps?
Flaws replied to VanilleKeks's topic in General Discussion Archive
Going back to an inferior anti-cheat which is easier to bypass and inject through is not really helping that kind of strategy. -
What do you think is killing this game?
Flaws replied to R3ACT3M's topic in General Discussion Archive
Literally all of that and more. I went with matchmaking because thats the biggest gripe for new players but there is so much more. -
Anticheat: What Are The Next Steps?
Flaws replied to VanilleKeks's topic in General Discussion Archive
The difference between EAC and BE is day and night, everyone knew that before it came back because we've already had BE in APB and the situation was just as bad towards the end. This is nothing new, I don't understand why you would say anything like this when the facts are right here and clearly visible. So many old cheaters came back now that EAC is gone, people that were gone from the game for most of EAC's reign and the game was significantly more enjoyable (and easier) to play. Now every second player you meet is a slammer again all of a sudden. Low ranks, max ranks with names you've literally never seen or heard of before (bought accounts) and so on. No one can deny how superior EAC is. -
Anticheat: What Are The Next Steps?

I perfectly predicted that all of this would happen as soon as we heard about EAC's departure. I don't really see any other options on the table either and I expect the game to only plummet down more and more. It doesn't matter how many patches they release or what engine the game goes on, how good it looks or how balanced and competitive it becomes. If the cheater issue is as bad as this, APB won't go anywhere. This is the main issue of the game again, regardless of what people want to think. APB's worst period was during the last months of FairFight when the population was at its all-time lowest (for that time) and it was caused by the blatant misuse of FairFight for manual banning anyone the old devs didn't like and also not banning actual cheaters for years on end. It was the last few months before LO announced their acquisition of G1 and APB. Now we aren't really getting many (if any) false positives because LO aren't malicious and don't seem to abuse it but a lot of actual cheaters are not being banned due to Battleye's inability to detect anything beyond free outdated cheats and some cheats that are just being tested until they become undetected on new throwaway APB accounts. Obviously, this is subpar and definitely useless in a game like APB where cheaters are in the top 3 biggest problems that the game has ever faced. Things are looking pretty dreadful. -
The FAR weapons were originally rewarded for playing some of the Christmas events and they are unlocked as leasable guns from contacts. As far as I know they are still available for leasing from contacts on the characters that you've unlocked them on. The JT variants are a part of the Joker Store overhaul which aims to make all Armas weapons available to everyone for free. They didn't scrap the old ones to my knowledge.

It would be nice if they hosted an official DB and had everything there, re-introducing leaderboards and other features again.

Mission Impossible Patch Announcement
Flaws replied to Sakebee's topic in General Discussion Archive
Nice! -
Remove all RNG based mechanics from all weapons, make all weapons more accurate across the board. Make it all skill based. Make players who are not in your mission unable to interact with you. Remove all collisions with players who are not in the mission. I am okay with enabling them out of mission because that doesn't matter.

Mission Impossible Patch Announcement
Flaws replied to Sakebee's topic in General Discussion Archive
All of this seems very good on paper. I'm excited. -
This. And this.
-
Let's hope it goes smoothly, for the sake of the game.

Maximum fun, maximum skill required, looks good, sounds good, affordable for everyone. Makes noobs mad and gets nerfed after waves of salt on the forums. You can't go wrong with it. N-TEC is the way of life for the big owner.
-
If you have to pick from those three, probably the Whisper though I'm seeing that the Trouble Maker is making a return in recent months. Still nothing stops the reign of JG and PMG.

I dislike many weapons as I do not believe that they should exist in the game, at least not in their current form, but the most hated one is definitely the HVR. The HVR is absolutely game breaking however you look at it. Zero effort, extremely high reward. Every buffoon can play it and use it efficiently and outplay much higher skilled player by just point and clicking. Its absolutely ridiculous. A single click and you are either dead instantly or you become a one-click kill for anyone else. The nerf they applied to it did nothing but make the gun boring to play with but still insanely broken. Just put any noob on it and you instantly gain like 50% chance to win the mission. It can change any mission's outcome in a few seconds where the HVR gets a couple tags on you and you become free kills.

Is it worth buying Jokertickets instead of a weapon from armas?
Flaws replied to StormZ's topic in General Discussion Archive
If you have the money, I'd always advise to go down the G1C route and buy account bound guns. The Joker Ticket system for character bound guns is mostly meant for Free-2-Players who don't want to spend a dime on the game. If you want a legendary then sure, buy JT but keep in mind that you can still buy legendaries from the auction house (marketplace in social) for APB$ which you will get anyway through playing. If you aren't desperate for any of the legendaries, it might be better to keep your money for JT in your wallet or just buy other stuff from Armas. Generally speaking, legendaries aren't that great to begin with save for the Ursus or something. -
Can we already have 2vs2 and 1vs1 removed from this game?
Flaws replied to yourrandomnobody74's topic in Game
As much as I dislike 2v2s in APB, no. They are still just as viable for competitive play, you just need to play it in a different style to 3v3/4v4. I'd say that they are just more tricky to win against a good duo. 1v1s can only occur through a bug since the 2013 change so they aren't exactly in the game and cannot happen under normal circumstances. I think that this bug needs to go away so that random 1v1s can never occur but I think that there should be some easy way to get a 1v1 with a friend if you really wish to. Sure, 1v1 combat means nothing in APB due to how RNG it gets with some weapons but it can still be done for fun and I see no reason why you shouldn't be able to do it. Currently this bug is the only way to achieve it but even now you need at least 3 players for it and its still annoying as hell. 5v5 or anything more than that gets a yikes from me. As a matter of fact, I think that missions shouldn't allow more than 4v4 (assuming the matchmaking gets its sh*t together in the future and you don't need to call backup infinitely). The more players that join in, the more chaotic an disorganised it becomes. Suddenly skill matters less and it becomes fight club where people you've literally just killed are already spawning behind you and killing you as you still fight the rest of their team. It adds tons of RNG per player per team and it overall defeats the idea of competing in missions. Big no no. -
That is a mechanical exploit which many other popular games have to some extent and you cannot get banned for it, especially if the devs are unwilling to fix it. If anything, moving at sprint speed with medium items should be a part of the game. Who in their right mind would carry around a briefcase the way they do in APB when they are being shot at? Anyone would just hug it for example and make a run for it.
-
I don't know whether you are serious or not, but regardless, speed hack is a sort of lag switch in APB and no anti-cheat could efficiently stop it to my knowledge. It had to be dealt with manually.
-
The half working EAC that delivered the best results of all anti-cheats that have ever graced APB in their full versions? The half-working anti-cheat that was one of the very few things that made the game tolerable? Thats the logic. EAC even in just it's client side was more powerful than all the others in their full capacity and that is a well known fact. I am pretty confident that I can tell who cheats and who doesn't the best out of anyone in this thread. I just have the experience and knowledge for it. But if you don't want to listen to me, you can read the tons of comments from other players on the forums in the different threads discussing the issue, stating that they've also felt an increase in cheaters since BE. Kind of a thoughtless comment from you there.

About threat segregation... again.
Flaws replied to HighSociety's topic in General Discussion Archive
I don't think they plan to touch anything prior to the engine upgrade anyway. -
Definitely should've stuck with EAC at all costs because this switch back to BE could very easily mean the actual fatal end of the game. We can't have a second FFbans era. That would finish the game off.
