pretty sure that’s an engine/code issue, this mode will still be running on the current engine and using mostly current assets afaik at least until the engine upgrade drops

is op actually a real person?

Is there a reason to really care whether you win or lose?

for some people playing is fun for some people performing as best they can is fun for some people winning is fun i don’t get the point of this thread, is there a reason to really care about apb? -
havent we already learned that you don't have to buy premium for the riot pass

i guess it technically counts as p2w, but are you really losing oscar fights because you don’t have tagger?

A lot of us can't rank up in Jericho.

you don’t earn a black belt by fighting other black belts the second you sign up for beginners karate class similarly, new players should not be facing high threat veterans out of the gate if you want to voluntarily challenge yourself you can join a higher threat district, but there’s no reason to force that experience on every player -

not really, there are tons of game that use matchmaking systems based on calculated skill levels there’s a difference between losing a difficult fight with a similarly skilled player and getting splattered all over the map by a player 100 times better than you no one learns by losing fights faster than they can react, because you have no idea what you’re doing wrong -
all the way back to the kempington Q&A its been emphasized that the new mode/riot would not be battle royale, it would just have some similarities but it keeps coming up pretty textbook battle royale while i don’t really have a problem with this or the new mode, it’s a bit silly to pretend otherwise when all the posts are still on the forums and on discord to see

farfletched was a little more than a moderator, afaik he was the dev in charge of sound design - involved in creating the music editor ingame as well as several of the ambient environment music tracks (including the "new" login screen music), and weapon audio like most of the old g1 team he left under less than optimal circumstances idk if he'd want to return even if orbit was willing to rehire - his linkedin shows he owns a jewelry shop atm, so he's not even in the industry

you can just buy the riot pass on its own, or a riot pass included within a 2 month premium deal/bundle/package

we can but will we?

so that its not a pile of hot trash when the engine upgrade happens and (hopefully/assumedly) the actual advertising will start exclusives are just fine imo, as long as they arent the driving focus behind content creation since it sounds like there's a decent chunk of content coming (for free) with the new riot mode, i dont have a problem with 1 or 2 exclusive items for the more dedicated players i doubt orbit purchased apb with the intention of making a quick buck, if they did we're already doomed anyway because thats a borderline insane business move aside from that prices have been lowered across the board since orbit took ownership of apb i imagine stopping the playerbase from hemorrhaging is orbits highest priority, they wont make money if theres no players i think the engine upgrade and its supposed advantages have been discussed ad nauseam at this point - frankly i think there's no good solution to the apb dilemma; the game we have now has never been truly popular, and chasing after every player that no longer plays will just leave orbit running in a different direction so it seems like orbit has decided to choose a single content focus (aside from the engine upgrade), and stick with it for the time being
