Heres to a productive 2023 and revival of APB! Regarding new matchmaking, it is known that currently switching districts deteriorates performance and people with older/weaker PCs feel it first. I wonder how new matchmaking will affect this if players are constantly being loaded from: random district > lobby > mission district. After the mission again: current district > lobby > mission district. I really hope I won't have to restart my game after a mission or two just to keep the game somewhat playable... Also regarding new contacts: in the past Matt mentioned that he planned for the contacts to unlock no longer obtainable R-A-F weapons: CAP-40 and VBR, now he mentioned NSSW, Nano and Scout with no mention of previous weapons. Can someone clarify this? Thanks Edit: Also I did not see anything regarding future optimisations to make the game run better. Surely the minimal improvements we got from 64-bit upgrade isn't the end of it? Current performance is still abysmal for anyone not running latest state of the art CPUs.

Yeah it sucks. It always sucked. Game puts 1 gold against 1 silver and calls it good enough. Had countless matches where 2 golds + 2 silvers vs 4 golds with no backup. MM should always do 1 gold = 2 silvers and ability to call in backup otherwise. Those players are silver for a reason, they either don't have enough experience because they don't play enough or are limited by their older PCs.

Any optimizations are always welcome

Yes the script kiddies are running rampant rn. LO said they will implement easy anticheat in the near future, just wait untill then.

Currently there exists only one secondary weapon in-game. But yeah the starting grind is horrible unless you have account bound 3 slot weapons. Imo they should have rank locked districts. Even if someone would create a new char to stomp noobs they would still be bound by rank restrictions on char and weapon mods...

If you're hoping for something new then no everything is more or less the same. APB got a 64 bit upgrade that supposedly makes the game run slightly better and fixes rtx cards from freezing, that's about it. I might have gained up to +10 fps on average but for me it still drops to below 60 regulary, some people even reported a performance loss, IDK what's up with that. The 64 bit is supposed to be a foundation to build and improve upon so here's to hoping more good things will come. Also 50v50 districts are back like they were in 2010-2013 and population doubled because we got a first patch in the last 2-3 years. Might aswell wait for the next big patch, there's talks about EAC coming back, hopefully that will reduce the numbers of script kiddies running around. And there's talks about new contact being added so that will give max ranks something to do.

Just shows how many people are waiting for anything to happen. I can easily see EU reaching constant 1k /pop with more patches/fixes and new content...

Try contacting Matt via PM, maybe he'll answer, seeing as support was useless here. I've had some success in the past contacting GM's in private, then again seeing how popular he is I don't guarantee it. I saw you mention roles earlier, funnily enough some roles are bugged for me too, some being 945/50 etc. I know others have this issue too. Some tried contacting support but had no success even though support claimed they have "fixed" it, heard some even had other issues popping up after that. I haven't bothered contacting them as I don't want them messing something up and also why even bother at this point. Also my friend contacted support over two weeks ago regarding missing items, support managed to reply once asking for more details and it has been radio silence since...

Idk, maybe cheaters bring just enough profit for LO to justify keeping them arround or maybe LO doesnt want to lose the few active players left there are. Like this game has no new players left and the only ones that still play are either used to suffering and probably enjoy it too or are cheating themselves. APB is the only game I know where you get unbanned multiple times for cheating and get free premium on top of that too.

So much butthurt in just one thread. It's like the entire butthurt of the forum flocked here. Still amazes me how someone can go from removing symbols and/or clothing to breaking character by locking equipment slots. Like why even go there? What did he have equiped there for support to feel the need they need to mess with that? Swastika shaped FIeld Supplier? Nazi Book Burning Torch?

Oh wtf, was already surprised when beta came out some days ago but now it's live? Damn, LO dropping some bombs

I remember Matt mentioning they wanted to release the open beta to public on February. I was sceptical about such an early date but I am pleasantly surprised when LO actually delivered, kudos for that. Anything that helps to improve the performance of this God awful lag fest of a game is welcome. Hopefully the next step will be an UI upgrade as the current one is known to cause performance issues... Every little bit contributes to a better user experience. I hope for the sake of APB and all that hold it dear, the journey of upgrading to 64 bit will be smooth and no unforeseen consequences or perhaps some other darker matters will pose an obstacle for dev team. Peace.

It doesn't matter what GPU you use on this game. If you want a setup for apb only do like others do, get a good CPU, no less that 8 gb ram, preferably more and have GTX 10** series at most to avoid any bugs/crashes. But to build a PC for apb specifically is pretty cringe now with ~300 /pop left. Made sense maybe in 2018. I have GTX 960 pc and GTX 1050 Ti laptop I never crash, unless internet drops connection. When back in the day I upgraded my PC from Radeon HD 6870 to GTX 960 there was 0 increase in fps as CPU stayed the same. Two of my friends have Rtx 20** series, they both crash/freeze from time to time, sometimes a few times per few hrs session. Another friend has similar level AMD card, forgot model but he also freezes and crashes occasionally. I expect newer AMD cards will have issues too. Looking back and development history of this game I don't expect 64 bit upgrade coming out. I guess you could have a dope setup w/ high level AMD/Nvidia card and have a older GTX 10** series card on the side for when you want to play apb, they are cheap now. Quick swap and driver reinstall. Unless you are one of those who never get tired of apb but not many of them left.
