  1. I wouldn't recommend a 970 or better, instead I would go for anything above the 400 series of Nvidia GPU's, and above the AMD Radeon R5/R7/R9 200 Series GPU's. Speed on MHz is also a bit irrelevant towards performance. Any processor with 2 cores and tons of GHz APB will do just fine.
  2. Thanks for the information, but I am aware of what it is. I work in IT and leaning towards getting into the IT Security branch to learn more. Might I add that there are new methods which just involve some exploit or security vulnerabilities that allows to send more packets than normally to crash/ddos servers. There are lots of ways to DDoS as of lately, that what I meant with my post. It's very difficult to cover them all without impacting the game's experience.

Sadly, you can not disable it entirely. I would not recommend going over 120, the drawbacks are simply not worth it.
  4. I would like to smash some things said there: - Defragging a "folder" isn't possible and should NOT be done on a SSD. - I would suggest Particle space area above "7813" (to be sure set it to 8000), else you won't see the fires on the cars and die without seeing it. Rest of the suggestions is fine.
  5. No but processor speed helps and two cores 1 for OS 1 for the game is enough still. As long as the MHz is fast.
  6. APB loves processors so my suggestion would be atleast any i5 of last generations.
  7. BattlEye will block Reshade/SweetFX. It could be used to activate cheats using the overlay.

  9. I used to have this issue with my old Graphics card before I RMA'd it. The card was unstable on the clocks or something else was broken and got it replaced. Fixed the issue. Debug Mode helps in terms of not using any overclock setting.
  10. I second this for a 50/50 instance again. Means more matchmaking too.
  11. BattlEye won't ban you for config changes.
  12. It goes in waves, the banning process that is. But now it does not do anything against modified files indeed.
  13. Regardless, some people pay even for bigger attacks just to be annoying or a pain in the patootie. A single user cannot ddos a game so severe. There must be some sort of tooling or network behind it. @MattScott is it possible for you to provide a network graph of the network Gbps that is going in APB?
  14. The ToS clearly describes forbidding modifying files. https://www.gamersfirst.com/eula/ Under 4. Responsibilities of End User
  15. It should not impact nor trigger BattlEye. These tweaks are safe.
  16. Clearly understanding why polls weren't a thing before, lmao. I know it's a joke post but why not in off topic section?
  17. These attacks are real and they happen every hour, minute, second of every day. https://cybermap.kaspersky.com/ Just having some bad fan mail will force a company to invest into purchasing methods to combat these attacks.
  18. Upgrade first, optimize later. Just like processors in a tick tock fashion. First release a new cpu based on a new architecture/process node. Then optimize it further.
  19. Hopefully! Try my suggestion: I noticed it vary very much between systems, can't hurt to try.

  21. This is almost as silly as developers not putting in widescreens. You really need to look more on a widescreen to even remotely be better than someone on 16:9 or 4:3.

I would advice you to read the post of Kevkof's: It's located here (per default from Steam): C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\APB Reloaded\Binaries\APB (dot) exe
  23. At least they are a wack ton better than the previous company in charge. Don't be so harsh on them for being new to this scene, having this community and team to assist. We all knew before that some were giving copy/pasta replies. Now them actually doing something about it makes it 10x better than not doing anything at all to change the experience for us and be open about it.
