  1. Hi all, We have had a rough week of persistent DDoS attacks against Jericho. We have protections in place, but occassionally an attack will come along and exploit a vulnerability we didn’t know about. The network team are working on the issue till it is solved. Sorry, Matt
  2. Hi all, There have not been any DDoS issues today. I've contacted my network team to take a look at Jericho. Thanks, Matt
  3. We have had multiple discussions with the FBI. We collect the evidence we can, and we pass it along. You'll see arrests are being made in this area (but not specific to APB DDoS attacks). But the vast majority of DDoS attacks come from machines that have been hacked - not from anything related directly to the hacker themselves. The problem is that the FBI, Amazon, Google, and other providers need to fix their vulnerabilities that facilitate the DDoS attacks in the first place. On our end we have protection in place for common forms of DDoS, and we continue to evolve those protections. But every couple months or so, someone will find a new vulnerability and hit that spot relentlessly. At the point, our engineers work overtime to fix the issue as fast as they can. Since Little Orbit took over, we have had several months in a row where we successfully defend all the DDoS attacks with little to no interruption for our players. If you look at the industry as a whole, everyone is dealing with the same problem. Toxic players have a bad experience and take out their frustration on the game. Thanks, Matt
  4. Lots of good points here that have also been debated by other members of the community. Even though it does have a collapsing map, RIOT is not really Battle Royale. We have worked hard to create something that feels like APB but brings new gameplay, map changes, lore, and seasonal rewards. This is our first big push for new content that will be quickly followed by the engine upgrade. From there we have 2 other significant additions coming.
  5. Hi there, We have OTW locked for testing RIOT right now. We'll open it up soon as we can. And we are looking at opening some regional servers after the engine update. Thanks, Matt
  6. Hi all, Apologies. The lag is based on a series of DDoS attacks that have been persistent since Monday. Thanks, Matt
  7. For the record, nothing is getting delayed. Quite the opposite. The new mode and engine upgrade are coming, and that timing is driving our need to merge the servers so we can roll everything out properly. Let's be kind to the Russian members of our community. They have a right to be upset. They did not ask for any of these problems, and those being damaged are the ones that spent money to support the game with Innova. While we do not have the man power to do 1:1 item transfers, this still needs to be done the best way possible. Thanks, Matt
  8. Hi all, I did receive a response today from Innova. I am waiting to see if they will send the missing payment transaction data, so I can find a way to compensate ex-Innova players. Thanks, Matt
  9. I realize it sounds simple, but in reality, that is not the case. I have previously stated there are too many items to handle on a 1:1 basis - literally thousands of items and even more components that make up those items. Each item would need a manually selected alternate on Citadel in order to be migrated, and then it would require 1:1 testing to make sure we don't break Citadel. We're looking at thousands of man hours and months of time. We are migrating APB$, JTs, and everything that we have proper payment records for on Nekrova. We are redelivering all Nekrova purchased JMBs. We are manually migrating the Legendaries. I understand your frustration, but that is hardly "taking away everything". Also, one last note for context: We have been losing money on Nekrova since we took over in May 2018. There is a minimum server footprint of about 20 servers to support an APB world. We are about to launch RIOT, which will require more servers per world. It is not feasible as a business to continue supporting the monthly cost for less than 30 player peak concurrency. Ultimately there is no way to position this migration positively to the Russian players. They spent money with a company who shutdown the game. G1 inherited the Innova problem, and now we're inheriting G1's problem. Due to the way Innova handled itself at the end, they have made it impossible for us to properly support these Russian players. As I said earlier, I have personally tried to reach out to Innova in an attempt to get more data from them. Their main site is up: https://inn.ru/en/ and their 4 games site is up: https://eu.4game.com/. But I have not gotten a response. I wish there was a better way, but we are now at the point where we have to make a change so the game can move forward, and the complexity of the situation limits what we can do. Thanks, Matt
  10. Hi all, For better or worse, I have posted an updated Nekrova merge thread. Thanks, Matt
  11. Unless you are one of the players who had their APB$ adjusted by GMs, then you should get all of your APB$. This was our original plan, but we have no records from Innova to know how much the player paid. We know some items were given away, and some items were deeply discounted at the end. We found it incredibly difficult to determine any fair amount of compensation.
  12. Hi all, Let me be clear - this is not about greed. If it was, we would simply turn off Nekrova and move on. The vast majority of active Russian players have accounts on Citadel with significant progression already. For context, the database for Nekrova was highly customized to support the Innova items during the original migration. It does not match 1:1 with the database for Citadel. APB is very complex game. Each usable item is made up of smaller underying components that control its customization and behavior. There are 70,000 of these under lying components that make up all the ARMAS and regular in-game items such as guns, cars, clothing, mods, etc. Each item that we choose to migrate over has to be manually checked and mapped across from the Nekrova database to Citadel to make sure the underlying components all transfer. We are committed to migrating and checking all the Legendaries, because we understand the importance of guns to the Innova players. But migrating all character inventory would be filled with problems and potentially damage Citadel. Additionally, we don't have the staff to properly complete a migration of that size before the end of the year. Instead we chose to have Citadel re-deliver all the Nekrova ARMAS purchases that are stored in the Nekrova database. This insures that all the underlying components come across correctly. Thanks, Matt
  13. Hi Wastelanders, The work on the upgrade continues, but in the meantime we thought we would bring something green to our blasted brown landscape. Beginning on March 14th, the Shamrock Shindig has arrived, and with it have come some mischievous, chip stealing creatures the locals are calling Leprechauns. Run around and see if you can defeat these creatures to collect the event rewards. This is our first time making something new for Fallen Earth. While it's not much, it's a start. Hopefully it adds a little Irish fun to the game for the next couple weeks. Check out the details of the St Patrick's Day 2019 event. https://www.gamersfirst.com/fallenearth/news/2019/3/14/st-patricks-day-2019-event Thanks, Matt
  14. Hi there, I’m not sure why Innova would say that. We have the character database with inventory which includes the items that a player purchased. That data was used to do the original Nekrova migration. But Innova has not provided the actual payment records that show how much players paid for their ARMAS items. At this point, we have invested lots of time into this effort, and we need to move on. Thanks, Matt
  15. Hi all, My team has been working hard on solutions for how to merge Nekrova properly. After the last post and the player responses, we decided to take another look at options. The largest issue is that Reloaded / Little Orbit never got any purchase records from Innova. There is no way to verify anything on the Nekrova characters, and towards the end many items were practically given away alongside widespread abuse by GMs giving players APB$, Joker Tickets. For the record, I have personally reached out to Innova to obtain these records, and they have not responded. So here is the new plan: With the exception of a handful of accounts which were boosted above the normal amount, your APB$ and JT will be coming across with your characters. For those specific accounts, the ones we are removing APB$ and JT from, we will also not be bringing over their titles. All other accounts/characters get their titles brought across. Legendaries that are from Joker Boxes will be brought across with the character they are currently on as long as they are those exact weapons. This does not include any items that are limited by a lease time. These items will also be trade locked. Created symbols, themes, songs will be brought over. For symbols, there is a very small number of primitives that are not coming across. If your custom symbol was created using one of those, then the symbol will be missing that part of the symbol. Most preset Symbols and Themes will be brought over but there are some that will not, as they are not currently available on Citadel. When it comes to ARMAS purchases, we will be redelivering all Account and Character bound items that were bought from Nekrova. We will be sending Joker Boxes to the character they were purchased on. If that character no longer exists, they will be delivered to the oldest character on the account. Any item purchased from Nekrova that has a lease time will be redelivered with the current lease time intact except for trial weapons, those will not be brought over. Unfortunately, that leaves 2 major categories of items that we wont be migrating over: The first is ARMAS items purchased through Innova. Nekrova ARMAS purchases can simply be redelievered, because of the existing purchase history. But since none of that was supplied by Innova, we can’t use this method for those purchases. The second is anything else on the character from trading with other players. We have looked at trying to handle these two cases. Aside from the legitimacy issues with purchases, the complexity of mapping each item across isn’t feasible. It is our hope to complete this migration before the launch of RIOT, so that our Nekrova players can enjoy the new content with more populated servers. Thanks, Matt EDIT: I have received a response from Innova. I am waiting to see if they will send the missing payment transaction data, so I can find a way to compensate ex-Innova players.
  16. Hi all, We are making good progress on pushing hard to clear as many tickets as possible. As of today, there are 1,192 total tickets open (unsolved) which is 812 less than two weeks ago. There are 812 total tickets that have not been touched (contacted) which is 434 less than two weeks ago. This is significant progress. As of yesterday, Customer Support was following up on tickets from January 6th 2019. If your ticket is older than that, and we have not reached out, then I recommend updating your ticket and asking for status. Thanks, Matt
  17. Hi all, I realize there is quite a bit of hype around the engine upgrade. My reluctance to show screenshots is purely because we aren’t quiet done yet with some core level re-writing on multithreaded rendering, lighting, or shaders. In a community like APB, I know I’m not going to make everyone happy. There are too many artistic opinions about which era of the game looked best. So it’s important that we show off images that will actually be representative of the final product, so we can set expectations properly and make a majority of the players happy. Thanks, Matt
  18. Beat me to it. BXNNXD is correct. Innova licensed the game and were not owned by G1. We have none of their purchasing records or history. However, we are working the best we can to bring over more items/APB$/JTs from Nekrova. It is not our intention at all to punish those players.
  19. Hi everyone, I should have commented on this sooner. There is an active plan already in the works to remove the cooldown benefit from Premium. However I wanted to have a new benefit for Premium ready, so we can give Premium players something else to help create new value for their subscription. I’ll announce the new Premium benefit soon. Thanks, Matt
  20. Hi all, Lots of good feedback on this thread. We are going to postpone this merge till I get better information, so we can try to migrate more items. I have reached out to Innova to get a detailed list of transactions from them. To my knowledge, no one on my team has this (although that is not saying they didn't supply it to G1 before May 2018). Thanks, Matt
  21. Hi everyone, During this week's upcoming maintenance, we will be migrating all of the Nekrova characters to Citadel due to the shrinking population on the Nekrova world. Effective, Wednesday, March 6th, Nekrova players will need to log into Citadel for their merged characters. Unfortunately Innova gave out or steeply discounted many items before they shutdown, and we have no records of purchases with Innova. With that in mind we cannot migrate any existing inventory as those items don't match what are on Citadel. We cannot migrate any symbols, and we cannot migrate over APB$ or Joker Tickets. For the accounts coming over here is the plan: - All premium time will be unaffected and remain the same - Characters will be created from scratch using the same customizations as existing Nekrova characters - Character names will come across except where there is a conflict - Character progression will be copied across - Progression items will be awarded to the characters - Permanent account-bound Nekrova ARMAS purchases will be restored - Permanent character-bound Nekrova ARMAS purchases will be restored (if character still exists) - Any temporary weapons on the characters within the last 30 days will be restored - Joker Mystery Box purchases will be re-delivered as unopened JMBs To the players on Nekrova, I know that many players will lose items in this shift. We looked for ways to try and migrate more, but the results always created problems on Citadel. We hope this will at least give you an opportunity to pick up progression and play on more populated servers. EDIT: This has been postponed while we do more research to see if we can address some of the player complaints on our original plan. Thanks, Matt
  22. Hi all, I have updated my original message. We have fixed the issue. All servers are live now. Thanks, Matt
  23. Hi all, I have updated my original message. Again, I want to apologize to the players. This was an emergency maintenance situation that popped up from last night. Frustratingly, we fixed one issue and immediately ran into a second issue. This has been a bit more tricky. Unfortunately I don't have an ETA, but I will keep you posted. Thanks, Matt
  24. Hi all, I have just posted that we are working on an issue with the Login servers that may be contributing to this issue. Thanks, Matt
