  1. For Streamers: There's honestly a lot of good streamers out there and I'd hate to seem like I'm playing favorites and miss out players (anyone who streams/wants to watch APB is keeping hope alive). Best to follow/bookmark this page: https://www.twitch.tv/directory/game/APB Reloaded It doesn't always come down to a popularity contest--some of the "lower viewercount" streamers are actually long-time veterans you can visit and learn a lot from. Some are more geared to being more of a "personality"...Sometimes it's nice to have generally chill players around, keeps the game from being unnecessarily stressful and toxic. Generally: You pretty much can find anyone streaming and learn off their gameplay at your own pace...or just sit back and relax. For YouTubers: There's really only a handful of dedicated/semi-dedicated "gameplay" uploaders and mostly in a montage format. That's where you see the "sick" plays and pretty much have those ideas in the back of your mind, then one day executing the same play without even thinking about it. While I don't mean to play favorites...it's really hard not to recommend Shini, who has a vast library of colorful signature montages--probably the biggest selection out there. You can also find lots of popular and individual classics out there from Dopefish (may have heard of 'Dope Nades') to the mastery choreographed work by fishamajig/ZebraSammich (can never forget)...all the way to my pink crap. Again, lots of good montage work out there (which is the point of montages). Most uploaders are just one-off works instead of "super dedication". These also have an added bonus of seeing what the game was like in the past (good stepping stool to getting into the skill level of today).
  2. When you are versing opposition that is better than you, think of what they are doing and how you can do to improve yourself to achieve that. Watch them (or others like them) stream, analyze their videos, and analyze your own. It's not just about accuracy: Map awareness, positioning, and timing all play crucial roles in helping you overcome situations. Remember: You know yourself best, don't try to cut corners. If you want to be better, always find opportunities to learn. Knowledge helps you understand skill, Practice will get you skill, challenging yourself will help you exceed beyond skill. Honestly, this really goes for any PvP game...and comes down to willingness. Some players out there have all the tools, but get to a point where they just become arrogant and ignorant, resulting in skill stagnation.

    VoiP broken?

Even though I'm mute and we could have used the communication to fight off the meta tryhards... Vivox is an unnecessary process hog.
  4. You can easily change your IP or use a proxy. They would have to region lock them (which they did when they tried the BR server). Again, it's not beneficial to split the playerbase at this time, we need the population.
  5. It's likely not possible at this time. The codebases are currently different between PC and console--at most you may be able to get purchases, but character specific information would likely be lost.
  6. You can ignore them. There is no reason to exclude them when they want to play the game same as everyone else. The added pop is welcomed. They tried separate servers but the population there just isn't high enough to support that. If anything, they can spin-off language-based districts and see if that can work.
  7. What about fun mechanics to bring back? Jump scout...
  8. Whoa...you have to give them options... 1) I was banned for Advanced APB Launcher... 2) I was banned for Mousefix... 3) I was banned for removing instrument sounds... 4) I was banned for Loginscreen Fix and Removed Ambient Sounds... 5) I was banned for some overlay (Overwolf, Discord, Mumble, Shadowplay, Relive, Plays.tv, Bandicam etc.)... 6) I was banned for my mouse software (Razer, Logitech, etc.)... 7) I was banned for my cosmetic/Quality-of-Life config edits (colors, toggle keys, etc.)...
  9. With the Engine Upgrade, you get a unified codebase. This can enable cross-play support; however, console doesn't have all the features PC have. These would have to either be added to console or removed from PC. If they do support that endeavor, they could to have specific Cross-play Districts (pretty much open-conflict rules) and/or have a unique mode that is different and somewhat balanced (think Fortnite where there is just one objective and focus). In addition, while you can cross platform Xbox and PC and PS4 and PC...the problem starts between PS4 and Xbox: Microsoft is open to cross-console, but Sony is hesitant. I don't think it will happen anytime soon, but could be worth a shot later.
  10. Sorry, it's all my fault for watching a stream and questioning a player's spawn position. At that time I did not deduce that there was some intervention when Barry Allen himself broke through the speedforc... Ah forget it, I'll come clean: This was pre-planned, I was in cohorts with Shini for months. We pulled all the strings to stage this very moment. In fact, the GM didn't even exist. We wanted to a stunt to show LO's ability to respond to a situation. I offer my 200IQ as tribute. Please accept my apology and let me know if this is what you wanted to hear. I am ashamed.
  11. This. I didn't intend for the thread to blow up the way it did. It was concern, but Shini moved on quickly and we got the answers quickly. The timely communication is nevertheless commendable. Look at it positively, the fact that they looked into it, addressed it, and apologized for the mistake is a good thing. Problems arise and the ability to address and talk about them is a good trait to show--it sets a quality standard for them and us.
  12. Who's trolling Shini? Who's roleplaying The Flash?
  13. Well, diving into the deep dark histories of APB, even G1 (early on) fully and partially refunded spent G1C as part of ARMAs testing or general item changes. However, this was well before "sale" promotions...which changes everything. In the end, you agreed on the price previously paid. If anything...If the items stay and ARMAs prices are completely overhauled, they could potentially refund the difference (G1C credit, not original payment) for those who paid FULL price on items (not sale prices) after the a certain time (ex. after acquisition), LO shouldn't have to refund purchases done years ago. Rest can just be given some newer loyalty rewards. I'd just take a loyalty reward that is permanent customization premium...
  14. So...what you are saying is change the name to remove the negative connotation it had on APB and it's players. No "duh" people left because what they did and that LO is the only name we should be concerned about. Keeping the Gamersfirst name serves literally no purpose at this point--no need to get picky over the semantics and essentially say the same thing in the end. Again, every little bit counts. You can't get salty if our own players are asking to allocate a few hours of resources to change the name. Redirecting the site doesn't take more than a few keystrokes, throwing in the LO logo over the G1 can be as little as a file copy.
  15. While true, a lot of players left because of the name. Gamersfirst was more like Gamerslast. Every little thing counts at this point.
  16. Now everyone will know the truth! :] Also, this will likely get moved to https://forums.gamersfirst.com/forum/52-breakwater-galleria-creationsfan-art/
  17. Map awareness/Positioning Thinking about how to use the weapon you want to use effectively Thinking about how to approach opponents effectively Not getting enraged every-time you die - Learning from dying and mistakes Playing reactively/dynamically - Constantly moving, always expecting Not playing "slow and methodical" - Camping, sticking to one plan of execution and never wanting to change Fight club will help you play more reactively. While missions will help you with map awareness and positioning.
  18. You want players to know that changes are in the works...you don't do that under the shadow of G1's mistake and suggesting things that would change what this game actually is. They don't need to massively overhaul it to bring new/old players to the game, they just have to be completely transparent on the state of the game. When the news of LO's acquisition broke out-- the population spiked upwards for the first time in months. Not valuing communication is what hurt G1 and many other games/studios beyond APB. There's a lot that works in APB and there's a lot that isn't fully fleshed out. A lot of what's in APB (most which was added under G1) don't flow well with the game. Under new ownership and a new developmental roadmap, they can easily put this game back into an Early Access state while they continue to re-vitalize it, understand it, and really exploit its marketing potential. Keeping the game in the current "live" state while changes are going to be made is wrong.
  19. Point of the article: "Games all should be the same, I suck at shooting, and since I don't want to customize--customization is pointless. I just don't want to understand." He gets an answer to his article's title; however, it doesn't sit right with him because wanted to hear comments that belittled the game (and didn't). In the end, he didn't care for anything anyone said; he just wanted to make a snark comment about the game to say: it's not like anything else but he simply cannot respect that. "Gaming journalists" are something else.
  20. I honestly never thought this was even a issue even after facing it for almost 7+ years at this point? The level of annoyance is no different than running into a camper around a corner. At the end of the day, you learn to avoid those situations and rework your strategy (take a different approach to beat it).
  21. Again, these are awesome. Glad you found and continue to build your style.
  22. Granted, but it gets lost in translation and you get salty in the summer. I wish I had more time-off.
  23. Pre-server merge, G1 did free up inactive names when we had 2 each servers for NA and EU. They did this on a inactive timer and if the character/account had no purchases. That was actually done right. What I'd like to avoid is the mess that went down at the server merge for NA...where they decided to take a different method for merging NA versus how they did EU. See, lot of the names were free after the server merge although being actually taken (the inactive ones, justly) -- G1 didn't have a consistent transition when they merged so a lot of names were actually up for grabs Day One of the merge. It was only after a few hours in when they realized they messed up something big and had to change the system it on the fly. This caused active players to potentially lose their original names, some players to keep their grabbed names, inactive players to sit on names they'll never comeback to, and "restricted" names being available. That's why you see random people today with "edgy" names like "how the heck did you get that name". In fact, from my salty experience myself, I had a name I lost this way which I actively used since RTW...and because of the mess, I couldn't actually rename through their "forced name change" system until 2-3 years later. Heck, support couldn't even do it, they abandoned the ticket several times). In that time the name was just "given" to another user. So yeah, if they can figure out a way to undo that garbage "reserved" system they implemented post-merge and avoid that issue again-- this is welcomed. Otherwise, a lot of active players names will be lost.
  24. Anything to ease the mind of players is welcome. However, remember even with a better anti-cheat: Some players will still suck, good players will still exist, and people will still hackusate. Fortunately, there still has to be an initiative to better the matchmaking experience. One step at a time, hopefully this time with actual progress.
  25. Granted, but you'll have to go outside to meet that someone. I wish I could have a custom forum rank. :c
