APB player base hits all time low?

Just looked at the steam charts... averaging less than a thousand players on all servers.
Cant seem to find any point in the entire history of APB / APB: Reloaded in which the numbers have dipped this low.

Please tell me Im missing something cuz if not,

Told you nerds for months already. APB is a 9 year old game where even a miracle cannot save it. Its time has gone and past, LO was just a delay on the inevitable. 

Though as I have always said. It is quite impressive that APB has managed to hold a decent ratio of players for this long compared to how it started. Especially considering APB was never that big to begin with.

upgraded from a skeleton crew to a chicken wing eaten by a person who doesn't clean off all the meat off the bone so there's still bits and pieces that are perfectly fine to eat but for some reason they decide that being wasteful is somehow morally acceptable when there's people starving every day.

i don't want to be a downer, but i hope a majority of you people realize that this game is old and that no game this old will become better than what it has already shown us.

LO acquiring was a glimmer of hope, but it's like waking up from a bad dream. ain't shit changed son. anything that might change is pretty neligible in the long run. sorry.

the population won't be able to do anything besides spectate.

Not just because it is 9 years old game, you must admit that G1/RP is the reason why the game and its potential went down the drain, we can only speculate but this is most likely the case due to incompetence. Good luck for LO, they can attempt to fix all the damage done by G1, thats better than dead game.

APB is actually doing fine considering that it's so old, has been mistreated by G1 over the years and the community has gotten only worse...

it's normal that games die out... honestly, I though this game would die a long time ago.
yes it's on an all time low right now (although you gotta consider the people playing without steam, so probably +250 people on top).

if the engine update hits, it's probably gonna spike to like 2500-3000 (my guess), but that'll die out pretty quick too, because nothing else has changed (slight graphics and (hopefully) some performance improvements is all we get) - yes, performance is important, but it's 2018 and the moajority of people already have PC's good enough to run this game. obviously, if you make APB run on every potato that'll make the community even bigger, but I think that's not the reason APB is struggling.
other than that, the engine update doesn't deliver the "cure" APB needs. (because it's a lot more bigger and smaller issues that need changes)

(originally, I typed a wall of text here regarding unreal engine 4, "APB 2", and how outdated APB is... but I removed that... went offtopic and I felt like most people wouldn't even read it, and the few that would read it wouldn't agree because "dOn'T ToUcH MuH GaEm MaN I wAnNa PLeH ThE SaMe GaEm aLl mUh LiFE!"

conclusion: APB is dying, but won't be completely dead anytime soon. but it sure as hell will never regain it's 2012/2013 population (only a BR mode could bring hype into APB. and I wouldn't mind even though I dislike BR)

In 2012 the lowest the population got was 4,350 players. It is now less than 1,000.
Also, steam is used by more than 90% of players.

I know how many people played. but the most reduced players are on other servers than EU so it didnt effect us so much as did to you.

it's not going to die anytime soon. little orbit already made some great improvements to APB, and with the engine update it'll regain some population, but like I said - I don't think it's going to be as populated as back in 2012/13, but it'll probably live through 2020 and maybe even up to 2022.

it's not going to die anytime soon. little orbit already made some great improvements to APB, and with the engine update it'll regain some population, but like I said - I don't think it's going to be as populated as back in 2012/13, but it'll probably live through 2020 and maybe even up to 2022.

Well it's a good game and not even now modern games comes close to it...

APB might be old but give me new contacts, new clothes/cars to grind and most importantly a new map and I will probably start playing again.
Been here since 2011, seen it all, made two dozen of alts, even started roleplaying a trainee that can't sprint when there was nothing new to do (that was fun tho).
It's quite impressive how long without any new content this game kept running and still does.

I just checked Steamcharts and it seems the period of May 2017 to March 2018 was about the same in playercount, which is to say, hovering around the 700 players mark.

So essentially it looks like we're back to the last days of G1 numbers where everyone resigned the game to being on maintenance mode for the foreseeable future (or foreseeable at the time anyway) and "are there even any devs left in the office besides Tiggs" was the running joke.

With that said the 24 hour peak of 994 (at the time of this writing) isn't looking too bad in a way.
