I fear that it will ruin APB's lore/world to an extent, as it will most likely replace many of its fictional companies/adverts which takes away from a game's world (unless its some racing game of course). I'm not even educated much on the APB lore and I still feel that way. But it is a "revenue that doesn’t come from the gamer’s pockets" so thats a good thing. I am curious to see how they go about doing this. thought u played at low settings anyway so u wouldn't see the ads

Nickolai 206 Posted June 1, 2020 As long as they do NOT remove the current fictional brands and just find places to place them elsewhere (like on cabs and bus stops) I will be fine. People would go mad if they replace the current in-game brands.

I've got over 5k hours in APB, and I don't think I can tell you what is on any billboard anywhere. Other than the IO Growl billboard , I am not sure either. Mikiy 10 Posted June 3, 2020 Lets just hope that deal doesn't include any thirdparty tracking/spyware/malware nonsense coming from the ad company that gets patched onto our computers from the games patcher then. As long as its just some textures placed in a non intrusive ways that don't affect playing performance negatively without any active program components that track or spy on us it would be fine. I've uninstalled games before that included redshell.

_chain 176 Posted June 4, 2020 They could also take the opportunity to try and team up with actual brands to add clothing items and such so that at least some of the displayed in-game ads make sense. Like people actually wearing in-game nikes or something like that. You get the point.

I hardly think its 10 million unique people since the beginning of the game lmao. Its taken them 10 years to reach that number. speaking of real life ads, anyone remember when G1 made this? Replace all the Growl billboards please. Also some of the Red Hill Institute Billboard could be used, and the civilian taxis are good placeholders for ads in-game. (and I'd really hope the L.O. is specific with what ads they allow, pushing for adverts that match the game's style and potentially the lore)

Even if every 50 accounts = 1 person, that's still 200,000 people. Compared to our daily average of 500 or so, that's pretty good.
