There's a good chance that "overall weapon balance pass" isn't gonna do anything more than fix some of the most garbage guns in the game atm (Misery, Harbinger for example) So long as they don't end up turning a trash weapon into another Yukon, there's not much to fear. Besides didn't Matt himself say the game is mostly balanced at this point?

  7. My biggest concern with this idea is - if the players have almost all they need (short of specular channel editing) to create whole new articles of clothing, what does the dev team sell to us then?

    Youtube stops at 60fps because higher video framerates consume more bandwidth and cost Youtube more money to host. Not at all related.
  11. Much like the reddit front page, The Social District - General Discussion section is considered the 'forum home base' of sorts so anyone checking in knows that section gets the most traffic. Ergo if u want your buff/nerf thread to have <nanosuit voice> MAXIMUM VIEWS </nanosuit voice> you shove your posts there whether or not there is a proper are for that stuff. Or so the thinking goes. From what I remember the community-wide habit grew from the days when people thought the old team basically stopped glancing through the Suggestions section..... EDIT: Of the few people who make their follow preference publicly visible, the number of dudes following Game & Forum Suggestions is half that of Socal District - General Discussion.
  12. skill equalized should always be assumed when arguing weapon theory in APB, so..... also, CJ3 Carbine has actual bloom now on top of still having lower firerate than the OCA so that doesn't give it the advantage you're assuming it does
  13. Unless you're fighting out in the open with no cover at all, pump-shotguns will still beat the carbine in 10-12m CQC, as will the OCA (and maybe a CJ3 Manic if aim is on point) so, Carbine being better than pointman guns in CQC is a dubious idea to me.
  14. I vaguely remember a time when the carbine had a much lower max bloom, such that CJ3 carbine was considered 'easy mode' and dishonorable by some. But that's years ago so who knows
  15. What if I told you, the Joker Carbine used to be even stronger than it currently is? Or at least I'm 70% positive it got nerfed back in the last Weapon Re-balance phase...
  16. I'd like a minor buff to the R-2 Harbinger. Its a very stylish gun, but its per-shot bloom modifier is insanely high and its initial equip accuracy is non-existent, presumably as some short-sighted quick-switch deterrent (nevermind that the low damage would never really make it the best option for such as use anyway). Remove the initial equip bloom and cap the max accuracy modifier to something tamer, and it could be a decent faster-firing, softer-hitting ACT44, or something.
  17. Just imagine the designs we could create with a coat like this: in APB. Unfortunately it would require the entire clothing model system to be replaced with something else, so this would be a long way off indeed (long enough that it might not happen until the Unreal 4 APB project gets underway).

  19. Compressed how? Do you know what compression is being used presently? What method are you suggesting they switch to? The previous team already did the whole figuring out stage, thats why they concluded an upgrade was even needed to begin with. Looks like you're just taking blind shots in the dark with this whole topic.
  20. What part of the game files could they possibly optimize further without straight up removing detail from the existing game assets? You don't think the guns/cars/characters in APB are at the lowest they can go in polycount while still looking as good as they currently do? Extra compression would require more CPU resources which means lower performance. APB doesn't run the way it does because the game assets are big and bloated, it runs the way it does because the engine code is archaic and in-efficient.
  21. Or, we could let LO complete the Engine Upgrade, which would fix the actual issues behind APB's shoddy performance, and then maybe asset fidelity could instead increase? I for one know I'm pretty tired of looking at 256x256 resolution faces......

Best suggestions I can think of would be either: Mobile Spawn Point subtracts 20% of vehicle hp making them squishier, or Increase the enemy player blocking range, maybe to something like 45m (which means you have to place them farther out which then limits your ability to "spawn on top of the enemy team" so to speak)

On the other hand, having your mobile spawns close enough to the objective all but encourages the enemy team to keep a close eye on them while patrolling - could be a worse situation than otherwise depending on the loadouts To be fair, there are better anti-vehicle guns around than the Medusa, but fair enough I just don't think they're worth removing anymore since we got the 2 minute cooldown nerf applied to them, most mid-stages barely last longer than 4 or 5 minutes, and putting your mobile spawn any closer than 70m to the point means the enemy team can just as well monitor them without you realizing it....

  25. If OP is going to be so anal about different PC setups giving (non-existent) advantages then they should just play on console and let the rest of us actually enjoy the game.
