  1. Oh god no, here is where I have issues. Streamers aren't arbiters of what makes a weapon good or bad, neither are many of the competitive players in this game. He said something very valid in response to you and that's people come with their own agendas. Streamers are the worst people to hand that sort of power over to because they're opinion formers, which means to say they validate the opinions of people who may be feeling the same way and it snowballs into anything they say being self-validated by the obviously biased community that follows them. For instance streamer with 5000 viewers says "Oh this N-TEC is super overpowered" There will be legitimate grievances with what he says in his chat but a majority will then come to the forums and pay lip service to this stream by reiterating not even their own views but the views of the streamer. I'd only agree for streamers getting accepted into a balance program on certain conditions. -They have to sign an NDA, no exceptions. If they're helping on balance I don't want it being "leaked" out or revealing details before the devs do. -They need to be a longstanding member of the community, someone like Kempington or Shini or even DopeFish if he was still around. -I don't want the dev team to ever forget that the streamers or community contributors are simply in an advisory role and I don't want to see a balance change added simply because they had one shitty night on APB. That's really all I'd ask but overall I agree, good players and community contributors should be where Little Orbit should turn, but they should also not forget that the new user experience is just as important.
  2. To what degree? Jesus. I could pick up any gun any use it to a certain amount of success from time to time that doesn't mean it's balanced. I've used my Adeen in missions and FC, sometimes as you said to a successful degree as in not going negative. But why would I give myself the headache of using a bad gun with a horrible crosshair when I can easily just switch to the scout or something better..? Your logic makes no sense, you attest to the fact that the N-TEC 7 is an inferior gun to the N-TEC 5 when comparatively that's completely wrong, it's more often compared to the CR762 which is a superior weapon in every respect to the N-TEC-7. You know what the Adeens closest comparison is..? The RSA or Colby Commander. The revolvers are better though because they have higher accuracy, the recovery doesn't matter because the playstyle for those guns doesn't favour being out in the open but behind cover where you peak in and out of cover taking off shots as you recover accuracy, the RSA has better standing accuracy though of 16cm at 10m while the Adeen is 19cm at 10m. To add onto that the RSA doesn't waste the primary slot with a subpar primary weapon. I mean the RSA itself is a pretty bad secondary, it's available to almost everyone and barely anyone uses it because the 45 and FBW are just comparatively better for what they need to compete against at their respective ranges but the RSA is completely outmatched where it needs to be viable. Simple suggestions to the RSA like quality of life improvements would improve it immeasurably. For instance improvements to RSA/ Colby Commander -Reduce the time it takes to draw out the RSA and Colby Commander. -Increase the recovery time ever so slightly -Reduce fire interval from 0.850 to 0.8 Improvements to Adeen to re-iterate on an earlier post I made -Reduce the size of the crosshair or make it so that it's slightly transparent -Increase the recovery time -Fix issue that causes instability of recover after jumping -Raise damage from 375 to 425 Things like the iSSR-A, COBRA, Oblivion, Misery. These don't need a balance change, I think they need a complete re-work. The former guns are either filled by some niche that's already filled or they do something less effectively than another gun already can, the ISSR-A is a perfect example it's only ever slightly different to the ISSR-B but is trying to be fit into a square hole as a circle object.
  3. I was hoping Matt Scott would comment on whether or not they'll have a "Community Test Environment" in the future to test future balance changes to the game or any changes at all.
  4. Pretty sure 55MPH is the max speed a car can go in this game or the servers will crash.
  5. The way I see it, you're trying to blur the lines on whether someone is deliberately or accidentally choosing to play with someone who cheats and therefore regardless of their intent they should be socially ostracized just as much as the cheater is. Firstly, people who play with cheaters accidentally very rarely have the perspective that the enemies have on who they're playing with, from the enemies perspective they see the snaps and shots not being missed, but from the ally they've no notion of what that's like because they're not the one playing against them. This is funny because this is exactly what happened to Kempington last week, he queued up with some people who wanted to queue up with him in his chat. Supposedly the people he chose to play with were cheaters, whether they were or weren't it doesn't matter, I don't feel Kempington should've been held responsible because he unknowingly teamed up with those people. It's this blurring of the line people in this community do that allowed people who alter shaders to be banned just as harshly as someone who blatantly aimbots and cheats. Choosing to team up with someone who cheats fully knowing they cheat so you can reap the benefits is an offense but not one that can ever conclusively be proven unless they admit to it, but it's aboherrent and is definitely should be frowned upon even punished harshly.
  6. Yes, exactly. G1 tried to cater to a player base that was non-existent. A majority of the players on HAN aren't Asian they're Australian/NZ. It doesn't make sense to move it back to Singapore because there is absolutely no guarantee that we'll be getting an Asian player base anytime soon. Matt Scott confirmed himself during the QnA, this isn't verbatim but he pretty much said that because of a poor decision making process of moving the servers around they effectively killed off the player base. But the only time HAN was last populated was when it was based in Australia. If they decide if they wanna keep it where it is, fine. If they wanna move it back to Singapore, also fine. But please Little Orbit, don't decide that the best course is to get rid of the server and then move everyone to Jericho. I already play there, I don't enjoy it, but it's the only way I can play this game and have people to regularly play against.
  7. You're even contradicting yourself right now, you explicitly said you wanted the Dog Ear to be removed in the post I originally quoted. I didn't leave because of weapon balance you're misinterpreting what I said. I left because of the toxic community, like I've said previously many times. I can deal with bad management of a game. This game was dying when I left and everyone saw it, this game literally couldn't afford to have a community that was toxic but they were anyway and why do you think nothing changed in 4 years to APB..? Hello?! Every time G1 rolled out a new balance patch the community got all pissed off about it and everytime someone suggested changes to the game people got pissed off about regardless of how negligible the changes were. You got the game you deserved. Someone wants to nerf the Dog Ear, simply because it's top tier. I'm shocked I say, totally shocked /s There were countless threads on the suggestions topic board that were either 1) Visited by someone like you and then instanousely it became a discussion about how good the player of the thread must be 2) It was just flat out ignored. I like this game, that's why I came back to it and continue to play it and kept an eye on it over all these years. I wouldn't leave on account of you alone, sorry to say but you're part of the problem. If Little Orbit wasn't concerned with balance they wouldn't of hired some specifically for balance who use to work on this game. I'm just hoping Little Orbit goes ahead with balance changes despite what the community says because have it their way nothing would change, like even the NVHR nerf thread is almost 50/50 split right down the middle.
  8. What're you even saying here, I hope you're not saying what I think you're saying. No the Dog isn't broken, it's top tier yes but that's simply because it outclasses every other semi-automatic sniper rifle but that's not a testament to how good the Dog Ear is, quite the contrary the Dog Ear is good because everything else is bad comparably to the HVR and the Dog Ear is the only other high velocity rifle you can use that's viable against either the Scout HVR or NHVR. You're pretty much confirming my original point. It's not that the game is balanced, it's just you're so incredibly biased and stuck about your ways that you'd rather see the game fail than ever see your precious meta be touched. I'm looking forward to seeing if the engine update attracts new people to the game because I find the current community ^ point proven to be just garbage. Don't get me wrong though there are some good people in the game and on these forums but I must say out of every community I've been apart of, this is the ony I return to even from long breaks and even after simply playing for two weeks I'm almost at the end of my tether. You can keep getting lost in your world thinking G1 drove everyone away, but those of us who left for 2 years or more even know the real reason. APB is in the most balanced state it has ever been but that doesn't mean you rest on your laurels and should assume that it's the best it'll ever be.
  9. Another balance thread where no one can agree on anything and a majority wants nothing to change, what a surprise /s.
  10. Outside the obvious things like technical issues(stuttering, lag, frame drops) I think just trying to use fragile, I like the speed of fragile but it seems I just get absolutely punished everytime I run it. I almost rage quit two times today because of it. "Oh, I've got an N-TEC and you're using Fragile..? Let me just kill you before you even have the time to blink"
  11. Jesus "git gud" isn't an argument. This community has just deluded themselves into thinking it is one, When I quit 2 years ago I had the same issues with the guns I'm having the same issues with now, that's not a coincidence. Nor has it been explicitly written or implied anywhere that the legendary weapons are meant to be "gimmick" weapons. Another convenient lie that this community has made up for themselves to justify their arrogant behaviour. It's like a kid, kicking the sand in the sandbox and storming off with his toys because he doesn't want anyone else to play with them.
  12. Oh..? Tell me because I'm curious how "are" legendaries meant to be. Because I don't think there has ever been anything been explicitly been said by G1 about how they're meant to be. Yes the Adeen needs to be balanced, this is what I'd suggest. -Adjust the crosshair so it's smaller. The issue isn't that it looks a little weird, it's that it obscures sight at longer ranges. This keeps the unique feel of the weapon. -It's range should go from 75 to 80 -Damage should increase from 375 to 425 This increases its potential as a support weapon while not increasing its TTK, while also increasing the viability of it to compete against other snipers in a supportive role.
  13. Gun: VBR Huntress, I like the way the it's aesthetically designed after a M1 Carbine. I just really like guns with wood furnishing but the CSG "Country Gent" is definitely up there on my list. Vehicles: I like the durability and brute power of the Dolton Fresno, I also like its classic design. It's not a very viable car but I still have a 4 slot one anyway.
  14. They have multiple development teams, one is working on upgrading from 3 to 3.5, the other is focusing on the systems that need to be upgraded to go from 3.5 to 4 (That's the Australian based development team) There is also the consultant and ex developer who worked on weapon balancing years back, but I don't think its been confirmed who it is yet. Regardless there is plenty of manpower going around to work on this game including balance, no issue is getting excluded simply because one is getting worked on. Anything content or bug related is pretty much related to the engine. Consistent bugs, frame stuttering, lack of content like contacts and districts etc are all on the backburner until the game gets an engine upgrade.
  15. I mean when there were common sales on Armas, it was actually pretty good. One of the very few things I guess you could appreciate about G1 was that at least once a week it was almost guaranteed there was a sale of some description. It's sort of weird that Little Orbit hasn't addressed when a new sale will happen if ever.
  16. Well I think if anything the only thing I know people in this thread seem to have a consensus on is that we should have a seperate server or district where we can test out the new balance changes before they're pushed to live server, however I'll leave it up to Little Orbit to decide the logistics of that and deciding whom they want to play on those districts. I don't agree entirely that it should be restricted to just rank 255 top tier golds, because I think even higher rank silvers or returning players have some pretty good ideas about the balance state of the game as well. I'm excited to see what Little Orbits approach to balance will be but I'm also nervous because I know that this community can get pretty heated when it comes to touching the very fickle balance in this game. One of the benefits I suppose of having a game that hasn't changed that much in terms of balance is that old friends or old players can just return and immediately pick up where they left off.
  17. I think a suggestion I'd have is to reduce most of the AR's range from 50 to 40. Then I'd reduce the SMG's range from 30 to 25. Semi-automatic pistols like the Obeya and Colby 45 etc should have their range go from 40 to 30. Those are just some suggestions on how to properly make sure that weapons are used within their proper role, obviously the changes I've suggested are merely very general sweeping changes and weapons would need to be taken a look at on a case by case basis. But overall, I think this would be a healthy change for the game, I've also excluded snipers because they need their own unique changes.
  18. That's just the community of this game, so disenchanted and toxic are some of the people who played this game they just decided to spend their days DDOSing the servers.
  19. Your head is in the clouds, SWARM, Adeen, Oblivion, ISSR-A etc. No those weapons are not "fine" what does that even mean. I think people have gotten too use to the game feeling the same that they can't even consider it any other way. The benefit I hope of having Little Orbit at the helm is that we have now a dedicated team behind the game who can retroactively adjust a gun if they buff or nerf something too heavily. If the ISRB Coroner immediately became a godly gun over one patch that's fine too, as long as Little Orbit are willing to find some better place for it and fix it. As soon as the dust has settled and the most important things are out of the way, hopefully we'll see some consistent adjustments to balance, time to get people back on the bike.
  20. Screw that, I wanna break some stuff and see what changes.
  21. I would be fine with that a community test environment district set up for a dedicated subset of people. I'm just wondering if Little Orbit would be fine with that idea.
  22. Mmm, projectile based hit registration.
  23. It's not the current list of meta weapons in the game that are the issue to be fair, it's the weapons in the game that perform sub-optimally or just don't fit into the meta currently. This has always been my experience with this community in that you guys never want anything to change in regards to weapon balance. I think this ties into a majority of the community being far too complacent. Things like the norseman variety of weapons, swarm and recent additions tend to be perform worse than any of their weapon archetype counterparts with exclusion to the Ogre and AMG. I'm personally under the belief controversial changes need to happen for instance removing most of the red mods entirely, Heavy Barrel, Improved Rifling and Cooling Jacket these all need to either go or they need to change. Red mods could alternatively be changed to be more interesting and buffed in some departments but come with large downsides. I feel that mods currently, specifically red mods don't do enough and if they do something they improve a characteristic about a weapon that makes it perform in an area it shouldn't. Matt Scott and his team could go through each weapon making tiny adjustments to the weapons until we get a good place but that could take time.
  24. Yes I know, but as very situational the CSG is you have to absolutely make sure that everytime you're getting the optimal shot on a person and even then you're not guaranteed that you'll get good spread. But not every situation you'll have cover, not in every situation you'll get optimal spread etc. There are a lot of "what if's" when you're talking about the advantages of the CSG but anything is good in theory if you have sufficient cover and your enemy doesn't. No amount of "perfect aim" will help you, because you can hit every shot perfectly with the CSG but still can end up with situations where you may of had to hit them 3-4 times still, it's just an inherent flaw with shotguns in this game. The consistency of the OCA makes it an obvious go to, because missing a few shots here and there don't put you in a constantly perilous situation the higher range also add to that consistency that CSG just doesn't have. Shotguns in my opinion should be reliant but only at their intended range, reduce range on shotguns if need be but increase their effectiveness up to 10m.
  25. All those guns are fine the way they're. Remember those were changes that the community requested to be changed in the first place. The CSG is simply just outmatched by the OCA in CQC, hence why its sort of fallen out of the meta. I think the changes to the weapons are adequate, the changes to the FBW and Carbine are there to prevent macro users getting a huge advantage and although you can still get people who use macros it still prevents them from getting a huge advantage over standard players. I would not be a fan of your suggestions because it's practically everything we originally asked for being completely reversed and although you can argue that the NHVR and Scout aren't as good anymore that opens up the meta to things like the Dog Ear.
