this reminds me of the old days when pokemon was the best thing in the world and a rumor of this kind got people looking for a way to move a truck to find mew. glad to see people is more skeptic these days. oh, btw guys, did you know that if you make a lixil symbol and paint it in the secret graffity spot below double B you get a free, unique lixil vulcano? the graffity spot is only accesible by one pixel under double B's feet so you have to look for it,its kinda hard to find, oh, and it'll only show up if you're not on a mission, while another player in your group is in the enforcer side of tigers parade, going through stage 2 while having between 1:10 and 1:00 time left.

more like what APB is doing wrong: non existent marketing(wich causes people to see this as a budget GTA instead of something completely diferent), bad reputation (this is the game thats "overrun by hackers" at the eyes of the general population) caused by horrible matchmaking and threat system, that also causes horrible player retention (newbie person with shooter experience gets to silver, faces teams of max rank golds 5 times in a row, decides that everyone is cheating, leaves). also, here have fun in that thread, it highlights lots of stuff thats really wrong and annoying in the game, and that makes it dificult to hold even experienced players.

Severe issues that -need- to be addressed
TheOppositePolarBear replied to Virgil's topic in General Discussion Archive
oooooh right, i totally forgot we actually had a weapon balance patch welp, looks like echo's cousin was right haha. you gotta tell me man. way too many "quality" --serious posts like that lately are you going to call it... percobear? bearcocet? ok, imma leave a smaller bear this time the "i hate polar bear images club" was founded by ghosT. the polar bears stopped, but they came back because of popular demand. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ what can i do? -

i disagree with gun balance. they are not that unbalanced. they are by far not as problematic than any other problem we talked about in this thread. i maintain a neutral position at events. -
Severe issues that -need- to be addressed

oh oh oh, can i use your thread to rant a little? Missions now that we're talking about timers, tigers-on-parade... do i need to say anything else?, the idea is great for a single player game, but for a competitive multiplayer... yeah, no, unless the attacking team is a lot better than the defending one, it gives the defending team way too much of an advantage. for those who dont know, tigers on parade is a mission where, after completeing an objective, the timer gets added a couple of minutes, to the point where, if you finished the objective with just a a couple of seconds left in the clock, you'll have like 1 minute 30 to do the next objective, another thing i personally hate are the places in the map that have only 1 way in. total pain to attack those places, specially when you need to climb a ladder to acces, and there are no places to snipe that place from, Vehicles or to be more presice, vehicles-objectives. "is the objective a car? ok everyone, grab your pioneers and espacios, because this is now APB: CAR SOCCER EXTREEEEEEEEEEEEME! SO EXTREME THAT EVEN THE BALL IS A CAR!. on top of that, lets not forget the forever rules of car objectives in apb. as attacker: did the defenders arrive first? yes? blow up the car and get to the next location. as a defender: do you like where the car is? no? tow truck it to your favorite defensive spot, and dont forget to block the all doors. on top of that (and this is just my opinion, i feel it might be pretty unpopular): vegas. sepcially 4x4 vegas. who thought making a sports car, with aceleration so high it allows you to run with VIP/package, with more than enough strenght to push other cars EVEN IF THEY HAVE THE ITEM/VIP INSIDE, and with VERY high hp, was a good idea? Obvious matchmaking system (2 golds in a premade team = a pug with 1 gold and 1 bronze. no option for backup ; 3 obviously not-close-to-silver golds = 1 gold, 2 silvers, no option for backup.), threat system, spawns, needs fixing but we all know that. note: i'd also like a "surrender" option, for those times where you're stuck in a hopeless battle. just sayin' -
Colby SNR Range and Accuracy
TheOppositePolarBear replied to ZoriaDunne's topic in General Discussion Archive
the way i see it, the SNR is intended to be used as a finisher weapon. you run out of ammo on your OCA? bum, SNR, thats why it drains 25% of your health on every shot. so... i dont think it was intended to be used as a standalone weapon. yeah sure, just let me learn how to program at a level where i can work in a videogame really fast, then i just need to get a job in LO and fix the thing and i can come back to my game. it should take me just a couple of years. -
actually, the chance of him getting hacked are there, we just have no reason to believe its g1 or LO's fault. for example: lets suppose OP has been using the same password for years, and its the same password for all his accounts. now, lets suppose he used to play neopets. neopets had their database leaked and... surprice surprice, the password was not encripted. other options are trying to do X thing with his computer and ending up with a keylogger in his system. would someone who has access to that database / install a keylogger in a random's computer, be interested in APB? unlikely. there is a chance OP tryed to download a hack / the advanced launcher from some... obscure, not trusted webpage too, wich is an easy way to get usernames and passwords, targeted to APB players. anyway, as you said, OP's fault unless valid proof is shown.

or they just didnt bothered with your money because they didnt cared. im still waiting for you to answer my questions btw.
-
so, you're saying they stole your stuff during 2017?
-
<op> BECAUSE ITS 0BVIOUS THEY GOT INTO MILLION OF ACCOUNTS BECAUSE HTEY DIDNT TAKE MAH MONEY BECAUSE THEY WERE HACKING MILLION OF PLAYERSS SO THEY DIDUN' HAVE TIME TO TAKE MY MONEY BECAUSE THEY HAD ANOTHER 99999 PLEYAH's TO HACK </op> bear, can you make your broken english even more annoying - yes... i know... i know
-
the PIA (polar intelligence agency) got into your hacker's comp, eat his mayo, activated his webcam and took a photo of him. im reciving the file right now, aaaaaaand... here you go: that doesnt really proves anything. but you said you got the mails, then tell me when did they got into your account?
-
it sounds to me you're looking for confirmation. but hey, i dont judge, im a bear. a polar bear. want some ice?

this "add this to the pile" thing is beacoming a community meme already add it to the pile. about cheaters, i tend to not find any at the silver NA districts (or, if they are arround, they are pretty darn bad), but idk about fightclub.
-
"everybody worst than me is a noob. everybody better than me is a cheater" - book of noob rules, 4-20 i would tell you about how APB's problem is more on the side of putting new players vs. really old players, but this do looks like a lost cause already. what echo's cousin said

Little Orbit must answer for this
TheOppositePolarBear replied to Kreedz's topic in General Discussion Archive
hello, welcome to the forums dear user. as a welcome gift to you, i'll give you a link to the APB blog, a great place to find news about the game, specially its development https://apbreloaded.gamersfirst.com/ on top of that, you can also check news about the game development in the developer discussion part of the forum, like this thread: once gain, welcome to the forums, i hope you find the new information useful. -
i think the problem with the door in 2:30 is because the door is "closed" server side and "open" client side. you have to press F to open the door server side

LO what do you expect of us?
TheOppositePolarBear replied to MotokoHutt's topic in General Discussion Archive
i know it sucks. i've been there. here and here enjoy the read. -
sorry, but that mess is apb ^^u guess you'll have to wait till LO fixes the matchmaking and ranking systems. sorry, no "fake-golds" nor "high silvers". in any case, "bronze-district golds" or "silver district silvers", ready to kick patootie in the bronze district. i've already talked about how part of the problem is both districts using diferent standards to say who is gold and who is silver (gold district bronze = silver district silver). that still means they ARE golds, by the bronze district standards, in a place crafted for less-skilled players. it sucks, but for players as shaishai, there is no place where they belong (too good for bronze, too bad for silver) you eather git gud or play long enough to beacome a dethreater i guess?. sorry, i know it sucks, been there. here, have another opposite-polar post for you rank doesnt equals skills. i've met a player that played CSGO for almost a year and was still stuck in silver ranks. i do have to agree Sayori for the most part on this post. it points at problems that needs to be addressed. only part i disagree is the "cheatfest" (last time i played there wasnt that many cheaters but i havent played for a week or so) where i have no opinion about. segregation was never a good idea. it created different standards for whats a silver and whats a gold. its something we need to eliminate.

Revisited Threat system
TheOppositePolarBear replied to JimmyMalone's topic in General Discussion Archive
that would only increase the problem of dethreaters. threat ranks should never be used to create a causal/competitive gamemodes. thats what UI buttons are for. lets say you, player with 5000+ hours in the game, and your friend, with 3000+ hours in the game decides to choose silver and get paired vs a silver with 200 hours in the game and another silver with 30 hours in the game. would that be fair? no. all you've done is to erase the whole porpuse of the ranking system (match players with people of arround-equal levels) and re-porpuse it for a way to choose between "casual" and "ranked" (wich, normally, would be a IU button). and guess whats going to happend when you do so? yup. tryhards will choose bronze/silver. cuack! enjoy keep fighting tryhards. i already did a post about the "non-belonginess" of apb, and multiple posts about how the whole matchmaking and ranking system needs to be reworked. LOL this is actually a kind-of-good writing prompt. "and thus, APB beacome the most wide-spread virus. you could be playing any other game, working on a essay for school, chatting with your girlfriend, and suddenly, APB would load out of the blue, and you would be forced to play as backup in a game you never knew existed" -
Legendaries still will be tradable or not ?
TheOppositePolarBear replied to Ayule's topic in General Discussion Archive
they already did, as sadira pointed out. and if you're too lazy to scroll your mouse, i'll just quote sadira's post. no need for low ranking, botton feeder, feable "admins" to come say anything, as much as they would like, they cant contradict the head of heads, boss moncho bombocho, CEO Matt "MattyLove<3" Scott, and he already addressed the situation. like really? do you guys really need an admin to come post a link to the thread where they already addressed this? for what reason? its not a 2012 post, its not "old" by any means, they already adressed the situation, you will be informed if there is any new information you need to know. do you really want to pressure them into saying something they are not 100% sure? do i need to remember you what kind of stuff that kind of pressure brings? does "engine upgrade for 2014" rings a bell? -
>>he needed an aimbot to kill 5+ enemies without dying. poor guy must have suffered most lvl 15 missions hard. im just making sure you know this thing OP posted is pretty darn old, from beafore LO was even on our orbit getting shit from all angles is part of the APB experience. enjoy it! not all of us. i want segregation off because: >> heavy segregation (golds in gold district, silvers in silver district, bronze in bronze district) almost killed the game >> soft segregation (what we have now) causes the problems you are describing >> so, segregation is not the answer and is causing problems, thus, remove it. and just for the record: -i started playing when segregation was not a thing, the OCA whisper was the only paid-unique weapon in the game, joker tickets did not exists back then. and i worked my way from bronze to gold in that enviroment. it was a lot of fun. -i believe the final answer to the matchmaking problem will be cross-district matchmaking with a re-worked ranked system and matchmaking system.

Can we talk about this picture?

TGYuurei looks like some dragon ball character falling to land after losing a fight. cant avoid to imagine another guy flying arround with super sayan hair -
or it should let a group of randoms get +1 / +2 players against the guys grouping up. you know, just in case there are only 3-4 4 player premades in the whole district now, im no profesional -read: i havent worked in any AAA title- but, talking without knowing much, you might be able to "phase" players without loading screens if you do a "server-district wide" matchmaking, that means, for example, all players in all financials share matchmaking. so, when it needs to change a player from a financial to another, the map is already loaded in the memory, and it can just load the information(position, movement, actions) of all players in the new distirct(pretty fast thing, if im not completely wrong, you do it at least 20 times every second) and show them with pre-loaded placeholders (just like when you just join a distirct that you see everybody as a guy with a backwards cap) until it loadsthe actual characters. a "baised rank" for every posible mission spot would be pretty cool. like, "this place is 3 points baised for attackers" means its easier to attack than defend, thus it gives the defensive position to the stronger team.

ok, lets suppose for a moment that those 100+ players that voted for "no" havent buyed any paid weapon. how would they even know if this game is p2w, if they havent played with the paid weapons? and no, "winning against oposition with paid weapons" is not a valid argument, otherwise we could go back to the "nerf SNR" thread beacuse i killed a NTEC bronze with my SNR another logic flaws in your "they say the game is not P2W yet they buy weapons" argument: -players can buy weapons because they are fun to play with - not necessarily better than the other weapons. "P2W" doesnt consider "fun" in it, it just considers if you get an advantage or not. -players can buy weapons to have them perma - its pretty annoying to have to buy them every time their lease runs out, specially if its a niche weapon you dont use much, like an alig for vehicle missions. -players can buy weapons because of its skin - you know, some people, say, feels more attracted to an UMP than a pseudo-UZI, and they might buy the paid UMP, even tho it has the same stadistics as the free pseudo-UZI.
