It's gonna end up being a debate of keeping current pop (content NOW) or reaching new pop (old/new players join for EU). I got a gut feeling that new pop outweighs current pop, but what do I know? I have new pop bias, just waiting for EU.

MattScott, why are you so terrified to do your job?

Bait post. 10/10 yikes -
Great Scott! Let it Bee known I'm alive, just lurking. All I can really do is wish for the path of least resistance with the engine and best of luck.

There's still going to be crying and still some blaming. Some wounds cut too deep when you've grown old enough to become bitter I keep myself in the loop and I'm optimistic, but that's only because I haven't gotten on APB for a while. Sucks to keep reading that G1's statistics were better when it was years of this confused, silent and painfully slow murder. LO picks up the torch and now G1's comparably better in some margin? Nah. Stop bringing up that old name, it keeps me up at night.

Dude ends up responding to the one comment he can respond and then dips before he builds traction on the bs he spews himself. Aight, have fun now. Toxic people aren't exclusive, but there's a good supply of them in games that you gotta sweat in, however the first response isn't any near the actual target you're supposedly trying to hit. On-topic: Hah, be real funny if I made a ban post too. I could claim I got 5k hours and that I never cheated in my life, because my religion doesn't allow it. I could claim I spoke to support and that they couldn't handle my skill. Would be fun, but I'm not actually banned... Just typing up stuff.

GM - GUN GAME MINIGAMES THIS WEEKEND - 03/13
Pufty replied to Gindian's topic in General Discussion Archive
Hah, looks like the community hasn't changed -
I couldn't pay for Adobe programs anymore, so I'll take up you on that premium and do some designing
-
Agree to disagree and leave it at that.

I don't disagree that some quality standard needs to be set at certain points, but it's the first time I'm seeing something crop up from LO like this and it doesn't seem to be the last time it's going to happen. I just keep noticing them trying different things for community interaction. You seem to understand that you can do better or that someone else can do better, but half the playerbase may not even be approachable. I understood this as a start to something, like CET and their streams. The streams looked like they could be improved visually, but for the beginning I really just appreciate the effort. Quality or standard can come over time as more people are familiar with the costume theme integration and can come up with their own for the next time. I just feel that the community hasn't really changed perspective from the old ownership, by continuing to be toxic or just have this 'reasonable doubt'. I could understand why the dislike reaction was removed, but makes me feel that it should come back a time later... when the brainded get bored and can't exploit the red button.
-
Are we gonna start gatekeeping costumes from community interaction? You're making it difficult to be approachable from the company's side. You'll get less and less interaction and that's gonna be another thing to start complaining about. This is optional, right? What's the fuss then?

Oh my, did you severely compensate for that reply. Your post serves just about the same use and same reaction. J won't deny uou bring new points and already before were taken on, but in every each reply you overcompensate for what seems to be the same exact song. I hope within all those long replies with little substance you didn't forget to actually provide LO with the useful information. Severely disappointed? Take a break. Some points you raised I would agree if you weren't to make overdramatic posts and replies with barely any substance that I don't believe is anything new. Doesn't prove useful of my time, just as yours, to reply, but let ne just agree this time, so you don't miss my point. Muting themes for yourself individually is a good idea and has already been confirmed to be worked on. Performance issues have continuously been worked on without any change in efforts to make it better. I believe it's lack of data and testing that they can't approach cases like it's magic. Would be better if you left a comprehensive post and leave it at that. Since you report worse performance on Live, I report the opposite, so it isn't black and white. You seemed to get more comprehensive only when you were being agreed with and actually compared information, so here... I agree with the idea, not much of the execution.

Haha, did I just read that before LO this game was perfectly fine? Strong opinions, poor thinking, but the idea is not bad. As you crap all over LO, they're still taking up your request and doing something about it that doesn't harm both sides of this discussion. Weird how a little more thought can go a long way.

Extending BETA time frame to 3pm PDT
Pufty replied to MattScott's topic in General Discussion Archive
I'm no expert, but so many times servers have been boggled for any game when something new opens up. It's so many new players with their 'new' characters trying to log in at the same time that it's really choking it out. You could blame any game for it and since it boils down to servers having to handle all this increased traffic, I'd call it all the same issue. It's simply that at some points the server lets you get further to see a new error, but gets choked out again in the middle of your steps. Don't know, but sounds like the same issue. We're not even play-testing it, we're stress-testing -
Extending BETA time frame to 3pm PDT
Pufty replied to MattScott's topic in General Discussion Archive
Wasn't the beta for this reason specifically? Weren't the servers available only 30 minutes ago? Didn't you expect this specific thing happening? Didn't get past the login screen, but how many old bugs did you manage to spot? I'll wait as long as necessary. -
I noticed some comments saying EAC better than BE, but Matt in the same original posts has pointed out what and why they're going back to BE... In terms of pushing against macro use, it's quite a nice and stern move. Setting some ground rules in an anarchy game sounds silly, but hey... I would even start playing if that was introduced right this instant.
-
Wait, so how many automatically thought that in a beta test, they'd need to attract absolute 'celebrities' for new audiences? I don't care about streamers as much as I care about content, so I don't see why half the people are shooting blanks in this post

Why you keep hiding changes from Patch Notes?
Pufty replied to SmilyFace's topic in General Discussion Archive
I don't see the significance of this yet. Might change when someone explains the actual impact on the change. In comparison, I've followed of the developments of another game and their patch notes mention additions, but leave out anything that's not really worth mentioning. UI icon changes never get mentioned, added sounds from objects and enemies never get mentioned, but a new system or a game mechanic change is surely mentioned. Every dev team is different, but some choose to not mention the new environment and enemy sounds they added. For example: I could totally argue the point of how 'important' it was to mention these changes to enemy sounds or how my footsteps sound in the world now. 'It throws me off a lot, because I was used to the old sounds'. 'It has created initial confusion and nothing about this wasn't mentioned'. It's how bad you scale these things and I wouldn't like seeing flack thrown around for something that to some may matter and to some is static noise. So - Why fuss about this? Keep it interesting, quarantine has really made me get out of the way to make an insignificant point -
Why does everything has to be so hidden and mysterious ?
Pufty replied to Ketog's topic in General Discussion Archive
I fully agree with Martin's points and just quickly want to go on from there. The community is going to give a hard time... No matter what. I've definitely fought with words in this community, but some really scare away any new life from this game. I think anyone that has tried to recommend this game from the outside to try the game has met the same reaction. NONE of the many people I've recommended the game to have sticked around. There are the usual - wonky driving, hard gameplay, but also the 24/7 toxic spewings in chat. Quickly put - the community is not the whole issue, but it's quite a big one. Thanks to Matt for not really putting on any masks to deal with situations. Seriously, the reaction has been very weak, but LO in every way is better than what G1 was or other Dev group would be. Sitting and watching how APB has gone for these years, I just can't appreciate enough the clear replies and honesty. I can't do much in support, so I just sit and wait with the usual 'Like' and word 'Thanks'. I hope that's enough for now. -
Kawaii Matt ftw Looking forward

Well this is new... This gives a whole new reason to get on APB and actually do things.

Char Name: GRUDZZ Server: Citadel Clown girl? Creepy schoolgirl? This... person. Since it's Halloween, nobody really paid attention to this person on the streets and previous witnesses have stated that they've disregarded the person for the sole excuse - It's Halloween. Reports about this costumed person have recently gone up. What really raises suspicion is the reason for these reports. They claim that the person in the costume has a terrible stench when approached. Nothing more than that. One report claims to interact with the person in question, but have gotten no response. No schools or exchange schools in the city have this dress-code. No shop has such a costume... Also, please stop whining and just try. Since half of the replies are complaining, you can bet your chances are crazy high. The community's small and everything counts. EDIT: I Sent you a pretty detailed PM to discuss this in private. Just don't clutter the post. EDIT: Added my entry

Lovely how every first comment in the beginning of the thread is pretty accurate at describing tryhards, but every one of those comments has those two dislikes... I smell... sweat and tears.

Ah yes, the Babylon shipping storage. Dynasties have done well to keep the business afloat for centuries. And yes, Timmy is right on every point. Nerd...

I would usually say go for it, but bullying leaves trauma that ruins a person for the rest of his life. You already exposed yourself to the internet with this stuff, so I guess you can do it... and maybe suffer consequences Pick your poison Bait me

> Says he doesn't want to stir controversy > Proceeds to spew controversy and spread toxins Heavy majority people I've talked to and have known over the lifespan of APB have always agreed that Financial is better and have only chosen Waterfront because of contacts they are forced to level. I am the same. @Solomante 's first point still stands and should have been the end of discussion... Your specific situation is... specific and so you go on a tangent about APB 2 and how the game's too dead. "Well yes, but actually no" APB is being improved and worked on, but a rant about people occupying your beloved district is not really the issue you're going on about. Your fragile opinions aren't really about 'fariness' because fairness would include being fair to bad or good players, whilst you say that golds on waterfront should be ashamed. 'BEGONE' you say with your fair opinions as you decapitate half the population because you didn't like how they look at you...
