Really good foliage is actually a real sizable feat to pull off, and personally, generally i don't really get the big kerfuffle about orgasmic foliage; especially in a game like APB where it's so sparse. I can see it being important in a game like EFT where you're walking in bushes and through trees all the time (and they just reworked their grass render system so grass renders ~200m out which is insane, but again, in a game like EFT its something they need for a good experience) I really appreciate all of the tedious work the team has been putting in to make a genuinely better version of the game, and matt for being so communicative about what's going on in the office. I'm not so quick to forget about the contrast between Tiggs leaving us high and dry with literally nothing for over a full year, to LO's constant transparency and involvement. Really obscure, pesky weird bugs like the ones they've been chasing down are such a big portion of why i don't see myself doing game dev work.. it would peeve me so much to run in circles troubleshooting each issue for days. Hopefully with all of these improvements to optimization, lighting/shadows, LOD and AA, Matt may feel a little bit more comfortable feeding us an OTW build to splooge over, stress out with the hungry playerbase, and then inevitably complain about.. something.

While the FAR and NSSW are obvious next choices, the Raptor is particularly underrated. The ACES rifle is okay in the closer ranges and i have seen an interesting hipfire setup with the COBR-A that i almost forgot about which is definitely worth looking at... personally i will be using the NSSW once the change hits as i no longer need rifles and it'll be fun to watch all the people who complained about the ntec squirm about it.

Your fun fact was infact, not fun... However, i do believe the pellet change was good in theory (for pumps in particular), but it was poor in implementation because it applied to other shotguns. The NFAS was already a forgiving shotgun and it seems this just added another layer, and now people are abusing that fact instead of turning their brains on. Combined with other 'balance' changes that LO has been implementing, it seems they're just more intent on destroying the skill ceiling that once existed by both encouraging brainless play and discouraging learned player improvement. Let me be clear, i am not against learning new mechanics and new ways of play, but i am against making it so brainless players can compete with those who are not.

CQC map or not, how many people used the nfas before the pellet changes that LO implemented? damn near none. Now you see far more nfas' in use than any other cq weapon simply because its just that easy to use. It's just a nuisance knowing how much of an 'easy way out' it is and how much people would rather use that than any other option.

Step 1: Go to Asylum Step 2: Witness all of the shotguns and see how the majority of players are abusing a gun who's whole playstyle is hold left click, no aiming required Step 3: Stop playing the game again (nfas fine and balanced lmao)

Just adding in my 2 cents: LO needs to learn how the games meta was performing NOT just from a statistic point, but from actual gameplay before moving forward with balance changes; not just from people who feel like the ntec is too good because it's used alot, but from veteran players at the pinnacle who understand how the game plays inside and out. Their changes show more will-to-do than experience at hand. Not to mention their vision of balance seems to come from below the experienced player line. The change that old G1 had made from the old 'RTW' days ntec to what what have now was, imo, a good change, it added an interesting new burst mechanic that had to be learned, and it added a new skill ceiling to the gun that it didnt have before, while not too massively impacting the gun elsewhere (despite many calling it a nerf, i simply call it a change). It seems to me LO is more intent on lowering skill ceilings than anything else. We're still waiting on a rebalance to the nfas ever since the pellet change (while it was good, and they 'reverted their shotgun buff') the pellet changes maintained a buff to one of the easiest to use guns in the game. Lets also not get into the nitty gritty oversight of their shotgun changes, the fact that every tbotting idiot uses a shotgun, before and after their changes.. which can be an extremely annoying experience especially if they feel like they dont want to move off of corners. (i truly believe pump shotguns need an acceleration change to move the playstyle for them from cornerpopping to more run and gun) Instead of practicing balance changes to guns that are the communities baseline, they should practice on bringing up guns that have needed attention for a very long time. It would do well to add more variety to what people use instead of scaring off veteran players, or simply pushing them off to using a new meta, which would then be addressed in a similar manner (i know that if these changes go through, ill just end up using a couple other guns which are VERY similar to play with, which wont be changed for some time). Any changes to baseline weapons could be severely detrimental to the longtime player group of an already hemorrhaging playerbase, which seems to be just about all it has left. However, considering our voices are a minute factor in changes for them at best, i am glad im already done with chrome rifleman. my largest concern of all, where the HECK is 3.5?

You know why that exception exists, right? because they know the current in-game setting options are lacking, and the advanced launcher "only makes changes to the config that any normal player can make by hand editing the config themselves." - so god forbid i hand-edit my game to not give me tinnitus from hearing grief themes because the game itself lacks the option to turn them off. I'd much rather hear my own music choice while playing instead of EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeee, or LeBoyce spam, or just plain old Asylum's boiler room going CLANG..... CLANG..... CLANG..... CLANG..... it gets a bit.. old.. after several thousand hours.

guess advanced launcher is against ToS too, because that's exactly what it does, it edits files.

i noticed with a cheap mouse the sensor was slow and sometimes inconsistent, decent mice have a good polling rate among a load of other features.. some people find a lighter or heavier mouse help them, and most of the better mice have programmable buttons but i dont bother with those, mostly i just use the good sensor with the high polling rate with a good large mousepad.. really thats all you should need

If you need something more than the nfas in its current state, then i'm sorry, its liable to not exist. I can't think of a gun that holds your hand more in asylum at the moment, even the pmg is less 'user friendly' than that ape brain machine. i don't know why LO messed with shotguns so much, said they reverted the changes, but didn't entirely.

I like that LO has been communicative and transparent; remember that there had been no message of current affairs for over a year before them? I like that LO has recruited a number of GM/TGM members that are active in the community; it was rare to see people in that position before them. I like that LO has expanded the joker store, and i look forward to further permanent weapon releases. I like that LO has admitted to faults in FairFight's implementation to APB, and yet again changed the anti-cheat system out for something they believe to be more effective. I cannot just freely give compliments where there is ample criticism, so: I do not like the half-baked BR that is RIOT, as much as they wont admit it; and i do not like that we are yet again, behind on the engine despite it being the largest major content piece that has been eagerly awaited for years. I like that LO is 'gung-ho' in making the game better, but i do not like that they fail to realize exactly where the flaws in this game are, and that they have yet to address those flaws appropriately.

the team's highest priority is getting the engine upgrade into public testing, and then everything will come together so we can begin the work on phasing and matchmaking. FUARK YES i have thought about apb implementing phasing for mm across similar districts, that would really help the matchmakers selection pool.

I have no idea about a good player who already has some internal motive for skill, but in my opinion it's really easy to fall into it as a bad player. You might find yourself with a really distorted assumption that a lot of players must be cheating, and that might evolve to where you think since they're all cheating and not getting caught, you might as well too. Then since you're a bad player, you're much more susceptible to the powertrip of suddenly being (nearly) indominable. That's the access down the rabbit hole of cheating elsewhere too. I think the largest, easy reason a cheater would go legit would just be that they're bored of doing it and the enjoyment from doing it is no longer there. When you first start going legit i think is the most difficult part of the process. You'll be dogshit compared to what you know is possible, and you could be easily tempted back into it by toxic experiences where you know you still have a cheat that works, downloaded and ready, that you're not touching. Kind of like a drug withdrawal where you cant deal with it. Once you go through the process of getting good legit though, i don't think it's rational to go back. You've developed a deep understanding of the game, and how to play it. You've been able to win yourself some really sick plays and have experienced the wholesome rushes from them and how much more fulfilling the whole experience of owning legit is. TL;DR yeah it's entirely possible people can change, who woulda thunk it.
