APB Reloaded 15-Year Anniversary
BlatMan replied to MageLO's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
Most games use 44.1K or 48K for their audio. A lot of professional audio doesn't support > 192K sampling rate. It's not needed since we can't hear into the ultrasonic range. The garbage collection freezes are a problem. Idk how those can be fixed. All the content added over the years has made it worse. -
APB Reloaded 15-Year Anniversary
BlatMan replied to MageLO's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
Will this kernel level anti-cheat run in userspace on Linux? I don't trust an in-house kernel driver, mainly from a system stability standpoint. I was one of many who had to fix servers when Crowdstrike released that broken driver. Removal of instantly getting into blocked doors is going to feel really awkward. Why bother? I guess fixing things that didn't need fixing is to be expected, and this is why I don't trust your kernel driver. -
Hidden changes that cause caution

He can't even figure out how to post important info on the official forums. Do you really think they have a working up and coming anti-cheat? -
15th Anniversary AMA with Matt!
BlatMan replied to MageLO's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
This isn't APB's fault. It runs on Nvidia and AMD's latest GPUs. It runs on Windows and Linux. It doesn't need DX12. It barely utilizes DX9. The only graphics intense part of APB is the particles, and that's because APB overuses them, going against Epic's best practices for Unreal Engine 3. It will be far less work if they reworked a few particles like vehicle explosions, muzzle flash, and blood. -
The Scoped NTEC-5 needs a change
BlatMan replied to koenyboy500's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
Currently, the Scoped N-TEC is only good for crouch spraying. If you need to stand and shoot, there's other rifles that work better. The movement penalty wouldn't be so bad if APB's aim didn't skip around. The minimum rotation is way too high for a shooter. You have to wiggle left and right to compensate for the lack of camera precision. There's also a lot of locations with cover that require moving slightly to raise the gun high enough to shoot over the cover. You can't take advantage of those spots if your weapon loses accuracy while moving ADS. -
The Amazing APB Reloaded 3D Render Community
BlatMan replied to JenzAmaka's topic in Breakwater Galleria (Creations/Fan Art)
With SARD gone, you should be able to use NinjaRipper. I was going to try it but APB wouldn't login on my Windows PC for whatever reason. Capturing with Vulkan and RenderDoc works again, so there's still hope. -
It won't work atm. They will need to change the inventory system so it doesn't treat each item as a unique item. Instead of having 10 different unique IR3 mods, it needs to be a single IR3, with a quantity counter. If they want to keep the money sink, then restrict how many weapons can equip the mod at a time based on the counter. If it were me doing the change, I'd only use the quantity counter for selling items. I'd let you attach any mod even if not unlocked, but it will be greyed out until you unlock it or purchase it. This will help with joker ticket rentals for new players. I'd make it a separate database, and slowly merge accounts as users sign in. APB might already do that, but I doubt it.

Your Account is not able to trade anymore
BlatMan replied to UnwelcomeD's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
I don't know if it's still the same way. You used to get trade banned for signing in from the same location as another account that got trade banned. Their system is terrible at determining "location". If you HWID changes, or your public IP address changes, you get temporarily trade locked. An ISP that uses CGNAT can possibly give the same public IPV4 address to multiple APB players. Chances are low, but it's more than 0. -
Back in the Streets AMA with Matt
BlatMan replied to MageLO's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
Providing those ban stats will be useless for legit players, but cheaters will be able to use those stats to determine what is getting them banned. Are more bans a good thing? Does it mean the anti-cheat is working as intended? Does it mean there's more cheaters? What percentage of cheaters are caught? Besides, a bronze player won't know the difference between an aimbot and the character turning when shooting. -
Turn off Vsync, Gsync, or Freesync.

The Connoisseur Skin: NTEC-5 should be changed
BlatMan replied to bmwdealer's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
The N-TEC series models and textures should be reverted back to RTW or early Reloaded. -
They have a blog too. Nothing there either. No one is going to use the discord unless APB is their life. At least they put out another message on the forums.
-
And they can't even use their own website to provide updates.
-
Does LO have an office anymore? I can't imagine APB needing more than a half rack for the databases, and the districts would be better off ran on a few gaming desktops with 12th gen i5 or 5th gen Ryzen, rather than a server with lower core and memory clocks.

Hard code engine graphic settings
BlatMan replied to Pista's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
It's exactly the same camera rotation, degrees, radians, or whatever the technical term is. Take any high recoil weapon and shoot at a wall, but don't touch your mouse between shots. The crosshair stops on the same spot. -
Hard code engine graphic settings
BlatMan replied to Pista's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
Recoil is the same. The crosshair is most likely a 3rd party overlay, like those crosshair apps on Steam. You get kicked from the district if you have modified shader files. I could get 400fps on the edge of the districts, but often it would drop below 80fps when there were multiple missions in the same area. A large part of the performance problems are the HUD. Turning it off in Social and fightclub increases my fps by about 50%. -

Going by every streamer and youtuber. Then again, they can be lying about their hardware in the descriptions. -
Hard code engine graphic settings
BlatMan replied to Pista's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
I wouldn't want the game to look potato in players' media content. Besides, the majority playing with these "configs" have the latest hardware, they just use it for the slight visual advantage. If it was for performance, they would disable particles but leave the rest alone. -
I've been around since 2011 or so. I've seen it all. I remember the email Gamerfirst sent mentioning APB Reloaded that originally got my interest, after they sold off WarRock. I've seen most versions of Flaw's config. I agree it's cheating, but I also understand why its needed. APB runs like crap by default. That's something Little Orbit kinda fixed with the 64 bit update, but it's still bad, and unacceptable for what little the game is doing. By mouse settings, do you mean the mouse fix that multiplies your mouse input by 2? It's a workaround for APB's broken mouse input. Without going into detail, APB ignores slow mouse movement. This can help mitigate that at really low fps, but for most players it's snake oil. There seems to be a high correlation with cheaters and stretched res, but playing at low resolution isn't cheating. If anything, it's giving yourself a major handicap since it removes some horizontal field of view.

Idk if this is a meme. It's a bug on APB:DB. It's not accounting for the reload time, and it's only counting the first shot's trigger timer. First shot adds the Wind-up Time. Then the next 3 shots use the Fire Interval. Yes, I know multiplication is done first and doesn't need the parentheses. It's for demonstration. Fire Interval: 2 sec Reload Time: 2.25 sec Wind-up Time: 1.75 sec Stock: 1.75 + (3 * 2) = 7.75 CJ3: 1.75 + (3 * 2 * 0.93) = 7.33 But you still might be correct. If the reload time was faster than the firing interval, it might help. I don't know if reloading resets the firing interval, and I don't know if Mag Pull works on the OSMAW currently. I remember them changing MP, and APB:DB shows that the ammo count rounds up. I'm not installing a nonfunctional kernel anti-cheat to test it. Legacy Account characters dying super quick like they are on different health.
BlatMan replied to Sgt Drayke's topic in PC
It wouldn't surprise me. Some days I feel like my account is nerfed. I think it's related to the DDoS protection. I started having these issues when Reloaded implemented the DDoS protection. Hitreg was perfect when it was off, but then someone would DDoS the server, then when the server came back online the hitreg was bad and I would die too fast. Fast forward to Little Orbit owning APB, the same thing happened a few times. I'd notice the hitreg was perfect, and I was living a little too long. Then the server crashed, and the hitreg was bad again. -
