  1. I can't remember when car d-sync bug happened exactly. But the servers/game definitely got way worse some time after 2016 and sometime either shortly before/shortly after LO came to APB. Sucks because I can't even casually play APB now without dealing with freezes, crashes, awful hit reg, teleporting players/rubberbanding, etc. Then cheaters on top of that of course as if it couldn't get worse. Merged. Also cars have a big problem in general, you shouldn't be able to simply enter a car for safety and then hop out and immediately start firing again. The abuse of car mechanics like this is really really boring for gameplay. I use it to troll noobs sometimes by hopping in and out of 5 civilian cars before they finally catch me after blowing up several cars lmao. But even can be abused vs decent players by using player vehicles that have high hp especially, and slow burn fuel makes it not even matter much if they do manage to blow your car up. LO tried to nerf "car gameplay" by making blow torch weaker. But that didn't even address the issue properly. You shouldn't be able to hop out of ur car at full speed, or drift with it to use as cover, and then kill some dude instantly.

    HVR changes were really badly implemented I hope they revert it. Also hope they revert the NFAS changes, and basically all the other changes they did so far. 45AP should not be touched, atleast not so soon, its one of the highest skilled weapons in the game. 5 shots to kill one person, 7 rounds in the magazine. Anybody who doesn't land those 7 shots is punished. The FBW (starting pistol) has 15 rounds and kills in 6, its arguable its better than 45AP if you are fighting 2 people at once, since it will kill them both in 1 magazine. Oscar is definitely a problem weapon, its basically an upgrade from the joker carbine as far as I'm aware. Honestly have not used it much at all because it doesn't play nicely with lag, being a burst fire rifle. Guns in general need to serve a clear purpose or fit a niche, and should be outlined in their weapon description in game. For example burst fire weapons like OBIR or RFP should follow the principle that burst fire weapons generally have a slower time to kill than semi/full auto weapons. But the burst fire weapons do more damage per shot. This means they can make better use of cover by not exposing oneself between bursts and therefore will beat a semi/full auto weapon by having higher burst damage and playing correctly. And the downside to that is you need to aim well in order to actually land the entire burst on the target, while they are moving or while they are behind cover. Then for SMGs/shotguns, SMG requires you to aim centre of mass very precisely and to track the target at the same time. You are exposed while full autoing SMG so you need good positioning by strafing or whatever. And for shotgun, they do burst damage so they are generally slower time to kill but can make use of cover to win fights. Those guns Cobr-a and H-9 curse you mention are pretty wacky since they are not doing the job of n-tec, and not doing the job of an SMG. So they are like bad at everything situation, and therefore your gonna probably lose the fight. If a rifle wants you to aim down sights, then it probably needs mobility sling or else your an easy target. And some of these guns have strange bloom which makes them either really slow to tap fire or super inaccurate at full auto.
  3. I have same problem, every 15 minute it freezes or crashes. Super annoying, had like 4 freezes/crashes in 1 hours time in a row. Plus the servers are being ddosed or are just downgraded even more, was really bad packet loss and generally bad performance and connection issues. I also found an issue with anti-aliasing causing FPS to be extremely low if its not on the "correct" amount. This means some people are playing at 30 fps when they could have 100 fps... I see people livestreaming at super bad fps and it could be fixed just by some config and setting fixes. So sad that LO decided to ban custom configs that make their game playable, they would rather defend actual cheaters and ban people who just want to play the game above 30 FPS.
  4. if i tap fire a fast weapon like smg/lmg i hear 2 shots every single time, even though it fires 1 shot, so mindfucky. those aren't neccessarily ghost shots. but what i see more often with the game's recent bad server performance is shots doing damage but not giving me a hitmarker, that can be even more annoying than a regular ghost shot.
  5. Engine upgrade is supposedly just a performance upgrade. Or perhaps will have slightly nicer shaders. Its still using basically the same assets as regular APB I believe. Not even sure if particles like explosions will look any different tbh. The game only needs a bit of love to make it a functional arcade shooter. My advice from game design perspective, my experience being jackshit and piss all, would be to not add any new contacts because those will only serve as a golden carrot to chase after. Then you will find that your players quickly get bored of their new toys. Instead just focus on making the game playable as #1 priority, ban cheaters, then fix matchmaking. Its incredibly boring for veterans to press K and then be matched against players who put up no fight. Let me be a juggernaut who is matched 1v2 against silvers at the bare minimum. APB players and devs should look at some original APB marketing strategy like this After all that. and only after, you would then look into making the existing content less awful, I actually noticed some good changes made by LO which is the addition of Armas clothing in the regular clothing booth, but it still suffers from the tedious problem of requiring joker tickets. Nobody wants to farm a second currency, those clothes should literally just cost $APB and then be unlocked through contacts like all the other clothing. Things like joker tickets just confuses players, its unintuitive and unnecessary. Hell, if you want to make a new contact, make an Asylum and Baylan contact (theres already two in Asylum but they doesn't do anything) and have it offer to unlock those fancy clothes. Then the other glaring issue with APB, the core being progression/acquiring cool stuff in a realistic time frame or it being locked behind Armas or soft-locked behind jokertickets, would be the game, mission, cars, etc, balance and weapon balance. When considering to add new content, do not go mad and try and make a 3rd mission district/map (of course they are not doing that since it would be a massive project, but it would be a really bad idea regardless). You have to fix the game before doing anything remotely new. Hopefully engine upgrade actually addresses bugs like grenades falling through the floor/world.
  6. Merged. People who I caught cheating with video evidence years ago, are still cheating on twitch.tv and saying to their audiences they are legit and stopped cheating or never did. Its a circus. If this forum allowed it, I could post a metric ton of data and links showing how strongly associated SPCT members are to various cheaters, and cheater clans, and if APB devs wanted they could do a way better job than I could ever do, since they can actually get ingame data and look into IP addresses or something of the sort. Its a huge toxic community that has been allowed to exist since I came back to APB in around 2016 pre-LO era and has only flourished since. The only difference now is the speedhackers have calmed down quite a bit, probably because they already killed most the population's patience already.
  7. the only useful EOL launcher is Deep Impact, the other two are basically entirely useless. but I highly doubt anyone in SPCT or LO would know where to begin to make those weapons useful. i'm like the only person i've seen use the EOL such as deep impact effectively. Merged. EOL deep impact is very nice to use. thats the one which fires concussion grenades. the other two fire some sort of variant of percs/frags that are basically just way worse than deep impact. Merged. the OPGL is pretty perfectly balanced if they would fix the tracer and the size of the grenade it fires. when i play with settings turned down so that i don't lag every 5 seconds, i can hardly see opgl grenades at all and its just not fun to face against at all. one issue with grenades in general, the range of their minimum damage is sometimes way too big so when facing something like opgl you can hardly get the time to regen health even if you try to dodge grenades decently. concussion grenade is pretty balanced though, since to do any real dmg the thrower as to be fairly accurate.
  8. the issue with HVR is that it does high damage in 1 shot, this does not play nicely with APB's slow health regen. the scout is relatively more balanced because it does barely enough damage to 2 shot kill someone. the DMR is more suited as a sniper because it does bonus damage at max range. plus if you have the DMR AV it also plays as a nice support weapon instead of being useless when someone uses a car. they could nerf the HVR somehow, but then if would probably end up being useless. then people would use the scout. and the issue with the DMR AV is its a straight pay2win upgrade of the regular DMR.
  9. atac is good because its one of the only, or probably only functioning, full auto AR. oscar is incredibly OP and probably the strongest gun in the game. but the oscar doesn't play well if you don't have low latency or whatever is required for this game to not break everytime you press m1. Merged. not sure what LO did to SMGs, don't particularly care to stay up to date with their insane balance changes, but last time i noticed they buffed the OCA whisper which didn't need to be buffed. and thats also pay2win because its Armas exclusive.
  10. why would we want to bring back dethreaters? instead of ANOTHER band aid solution, maybe hire someone with enough braincells to re-work matchmaking.
  11. griefing is part of APB, anybody opposed to griefing is playing the wrong game. in particular, apb is a game based on anarchy and civil unrest with criminals and vigilantes fighting eachother. if measures are to be made against griefing, then make missions harder to be griefed instead of crying on the forums or discord.

  13. yeah they are just upgrades. but the problem is more that getting 3 slot weapons is ridiculously difficult, around 27000 kills in that weapon category to unlock 3 slots version. and then on top of that 3 slot weapons cost $22k per 10 days which adds up ALOT if you are wanting to own several weapons at a time. and if you don't have premium, good luck affording all that if you don't play all day.

  15. clotting agent is pretty cancerous because it heavily reduces the punishment of being hit once or twice. it would probably need to be looked at by making some graphs based on health regeneration compared to having CA3 and not having CA3. but I can agree that in general the game would probably be better if we all just had default regen, and didn't have CA at all. fragile is pretty cool because movement can be useful, but it making you have less health can make u die super fast versus certain weapons (or even get 1 shot killed by strife). kevlar is also nice, but movement is way too useful to give up for slightly more health. flak jacket i like, but since you need to spam grenades to clear enemy cars so often its sometimes a disadvantage to use flak jacket. so in removing or changing CA3 they should look into those other green mods that could use some love too. 3ps3 i don't see how its an issue, it only affects the time to switch to the weapon so it makes guns that require using pistols all the time more useful, since LMG, Sniper, Osmaw, etc all make you super slow at running, you basically have to carry your secondary all the time and so 3ps3 is basically mandatory to have on your primary weapon. 3ps3 would be way more overpowered if it could be used as a pistol mod, the only thing that has this is a single NFA variant, which you can get with JT and prob Armas too. I have that NFA because its pretty amazing, but its pretty balanced since the NFA is inaccurate as fuck and can only kill like 1 person per magazine. 3ps3 is op when you quickswitch with HVR. and the LO changes to the HVR are really dumb. there is a pretty strong argument to be had that the HVR shouldn't even exist. we already have the scout and the dmr, the HVR is just incredibly annoying because it can shut you down for extremely long due to having to regen health. and to shut you down all the HVR user has to do is land a single hit. car detonator is a serious issue because its anti-fun. it can be spammed way too fast, if i recall it doesn't have a cooldown so you can just continuously respawn your car and explode it. there is a major issue with cars like the pioneer and a few others that have stupidly big explosion radius when you put explosives 3 on them. the pioneer for example can 1 shot kill anyone within like 12.325 meters. its stupid that LO has reduced the pioneer max health from 1600->1350 but it still has a stupidly big explosion radius paired with explosives 3. car spawn is kind of needed because the games default spawn system is not polished. the issue here is they have nerfed grenade resupply times, so its going to take even longer to destroy enemy car spawns. its pretty dumb to have to spend half your time chucking grenades at car spawns before even engaging the enemy. Merged. "and limit all grenades to 1 and remove concurssion grenade out of the game too. This makes every anti vehicle weapon useless!" concussion grenade is pretty dang hard to use if you are vsing people who are decent at driving. the issue i see is the majority of players in this game don't know how to avoid being conced by me due to bad driving skills. having only 1 grenade would be a huge issue because then you would have to resupply even more just to explode enemy cars. anti-vehicle weapons are nice, but we don't use them to explode stationary cars... thats what concs are better at doing since you can just throw a conc under the car and go on with your business. having to put 20+ rounds from an alig into a car is really inconvenient if you aren't even going to get a kill out of it.

  17. ntec is one of the easiest guns in the game to use, always has been.
  18. 130ms is a huge disadvantage in gun play (even if everything else is running smoothly). but average player won't notice it enough to matter too much.

  22. missions are fast enough that there isn't much reason to forfeit most of the time. whenever i have someone i know is a cheater on my team or the enemy team, i quit my game to desktop because its a waste of time to play like that.

  24. p5n5 was fun but being the p5n5 yourself wasn't rewarding at all (apart from being able to kill anyone you want, but you can't really do that in the middle of a mission), basically it just meant that you got screwed over if you die at a really bad time. Merged. the issue with matchmaking is if you are a tryhard player, and then if you are grouped up with tryhards, the likelihood of the game matching you to another tryhard premade is low, and there might not even be another one online in the opposing faction. so its not unusual for groups, even just a duo, to go on massive mission winstreaks. i think even just solo i have managed over 20 winstreak, simply because on that particular day there wasn't many good players on the opposing side, and my side had better than average players. there should be some sort of risk reward implemented. if i had a team of 4 players with same skill as me we can probably take on 8 silvers easily (being outnumbered might be more/less difficult on particular mission stages though). but the game right now is doing something like 4 golds vs 5 silvers, 1 extra player is hardly enough and usually doesnt even matter because most matchmade teams arent coordinated at all. one fix would be to allow the backup button to more/less always be available so that a losing side can press for backup. but there would need to be some significant drawbacks to doing so, such as heavily reduced rewards or something else. or of course just make this extra backup only available for use every so often, so it can't be pressed every single mission. that would be more complex since the mission leader isn't the same everytime, it would have to account for if the group members received extra backup in their previous mission too. maybe p5n5 can make a comeback, if the enemy has p5n5 then you can call for additional backup. but that could be easily avoided by the p5n5 avoiding reaching p5n5 by teamkilling or otherwise.
