  1. Yeah, again, I was pretty much confirming what saxtus said about the advanced launcher, and then mentioned other common things people do to get advantages. Someone that knows his way around game files doesn't even need the launcher, and considering there's no file check, people can just do whatever they want. And that's bad.
  2. As far as I know the last statement we had only forbid muzzle flash removal, and everything else was ok to be abused. Sure, the advanced launcher "limits" you from doing certain things, but there's barely any file check in the game and people can do what they want by manually editing and deleting things.
  3. Yeah, wasn't precisely talking about the advanced launcher regarding that. You can do anything the advanced launcher does by opening a couple files and editing them by yourself, the launcher just helps you, and you can do a lot more than what the launcher offers you, some things could be called cheating like removing animations so people don't crouch and can be seen behind cover, they stick out of corners, explosions not rendering, getting rid of environment sounds, etc.
  4. Going after car spawners when a team has 3 to 4 isn't worth the time you're sacrificing you'd otherwise use on the objective. By the time you've destroyed all of them and restocked your grenades a dozen times, the stage is over and the first cars are already being respawned. I can see how you can actively go after them when the objective and the cars are out in the open and easily reachable, but when you're in a building complex or an alley system, you shouldn't go after those but rather focus on the objective instead.
  5. The vegas has no audio options. The only difference you're noticing is the way faster acceleration (thus a "faster" sound) on the 4x4, and perhaps the nitro sound. The nitro sound sometimes bugs out and cars permanently have it.
  6. About the advanced launcher thing.. Saxtus isn't wrong. People use it solely for the FPS boost and for having an easier time finding and tracking enemies. Some players also go that far to remove all environment/ambient noises so they can hear footsteps, which almost cannot be heard by players that have these sounds on. As small as the advantage of doing this is, it's still an advantage people like to exploit. I personally wouldn't like it if these clay texture graphics become an actual ingame setting.
  7. It also has weird recoil and ghost shots a lot, so there's that.
  8. Those are still relatively bad though, and nowhere near useful enough to replace a bunch of other guns. The S1-FA won't become another N-TEC unless they drastically buff it, as it has one more shot to kill.
  9. I agree. In my opinion, the shotgun changes should be reverted and stay there. The shotgun balance was fine and probably the most well balanced weapon class in APB. The shredder could use a tiny buff though. Right now, only two shotguns are now useful, and the rest is irrelevant. Then only touch the few problematic weapons by slightly nerfing the, such as the OCA (revert the unnecessary G1 buff), the N-TEC, the N-HVR, or the RFP-9. This allows users to have the option to use other guns that won't put them at a disadvantage for not using them. Then buff all the bad and underpowered weapons such as the COBR-A, ISSR-a, ACT-44, AR-97, RSA, FR0G, H9, Mounties, NCR-762, Norseman, OCSP, R-2, S-247, S1-FA, S1-TIC, SBSR, STAR LCR, SWARM and the VAS-C2. But if you decide to touch the weapon balance again, it needs thorough testing before reaching the live build, and then treat the new live build as the last testing phase where more users can share their opinions about it, as previous OTW-Tests and Prototype-Districts haven't worked at all due to the small playerbase.
  10. Goodbye see you in two weeks
  11. In this tug-of-war over control of the city, only one can come out on top. Will it be you? Oh god, this screams Battle Royale. Please don't be a battle royale. But Matt said Riot isn't really a BR, so there's that. With new contacts, an altered map and all that, it sure sounds like fun. Wonder what it'll be.
  12. Everyone claims they've been playing since RTW anyway, and how awesome it was. Spoiler alert: It was horrible. Weapon skins weren't a thing back then, nor were titles. I don't think you can even track who actually migrated from RTW these days.
  13. If I recall correctly, migrated RTW accounts received a permanent 0 slot JG and, if you bought them ingame, a few customizeable clothing items that were never released in APB:R. Most of them are released on armas by now though. And you got to keep your themes/songs and symbols, some of which are unique as they were presets that are no longer given out by contacts, such as the original nocturnal song.
  14. The only way to get free G1C is to have someone else pay for you. So go get moms credit card or something!
  15. So as others have pointed out, logging in with a wrong/random password leads you to a gif of matt saying "ah ah ah, you didn't say the magic word" which is a jurassic park reference. The magic word is most likely the password for the user mattscott. It's been ages since I watched that movie, but maybe someone else can make a connection. Is there anything in JP that could resemble something from APB, or RedHill? Or vice-versa. //Edit: I think there might be some reference in the new articles they've put on the page. Not too sure...
  16. Yeaah, that's pretty much the only use out of it.
  17. Yeah that's the box for the original APB. It is worthless at this point.
  18. But his previous spot has also been stronger because of that same enforcer-only laptop.
  19. You say it breaks devil dogs tradition of blocking off camping spots, and then you say his location makes an annoying camping spot even better? Make up your mind! Lol. Also, his ammo source isn't really a problem, ammo has never been a problem in this game since deployables.
  20. If there's a block under the bridge and you're coming west, you can just swerve 10 meters to the left and drive through the alley. If you come from the east however... turn around and go either left for the alley or right for the other 4 lane road. "Wasted" 30 seconds at max, which also "wastes" the time of your opponents, so there's that.
  21. If you can't even deal with minor "griefing" like this, maybe APB isn't your game.
  22. You should turn them on. It happens hillariously often that people cast their shadow around the corner they're camping at, and then they whine about how I just randomly prenaded them.
  23. Honestly? I love it when people do that. Multiple people blocking off the main road on Waterfront under the bridge or close to the main fuel station is always nice. It's like the map has been altered and you need to take a different route. It's a nice change of play. Dumptrucks are a fun part of APB. If you happen to drive one, you can just ignore everyone and ram through everything. If you happen to drive into one, it's a little "oh shit" moment and you have to dodge it. I don't know, random things like this are what makes APB for me. It's something different in the otherwise monotone missions. I really hope the rumored ghosting while in missions won't be a thing. (so that you can drive through everyone that isn't on your mission.) That would just take away that little APB randomness that makes the game fun in its own way.
  24. Barely, just looks like stock icons for medical stuff. All pictures on the website are stock pictures, so that's most likely where all these icons come from too. That quote has definitely been in the game for longer, though I don't remember if the dude says redhill though.
  25. The compact is unfinished, and more or less just an ATAC with slightly different stats. Hasn't been touched for a long time. Also looks really odd as it's quite big and uses SMG idle and running animations, and the AR animation won't work well due to the foregrip.
