End of July 2018 Update (1.19.6 on OTW)
Letter replied to MattScott's topic in General Discussion Archive
Trade system window (allegedly) without thousands/millions delimiter - what could go wrong considering people cannot see the difference between 400000 and 4000000 under stress during trades?... -
Did you talk bad about the furries and bronies on the game? lol Not really. I kind of sympathize to unusual people. Anyway, there is absolutely no point to suspend account w/o explanations because now I'm not even sure if it wasn't just a software mistake, let alone correct anything in my chat besides just stop using it - and the game.
-
sale bots can cause a ban as well..... did you do that? I didn't do anything even remotely harmful/offensive (from my point of view). Update: got a message from another player with screen with LO's explanation how *the game actually ban accounts randomly / by mistake*. I guess I have to stop logging in till CSM will start working normally - I've put way too much effort into my account to risk losing it to software errors. Very "funny", LO!
-
Thanks for your random guessing but I want precise answer from LO support/CSM. Meanwhile I'll have to stop using chat and evacuate all my hard earned legendaries from the account (and most likely stop logging in) in case if LO is going to continue slapping unpredictable/unexplained suspensions and bans since I have absolutely no clue - what exactly is wrong?

Sick of getting rolled by groups of GOLDs in bronze /d

I've stopped playing missions when G1 removed firm separation of threats in 2013 (back then you got auto-kicked from bronze after getting silver). Maybe you should stop too. -
I can credit G1 for keeping this unfinished game alive for 7+ years + tons of gifts, events and those codes which aren't available anymore Also their ticket support system actually worked. And now LO cannot even give an explanation - why did they suspend my account for the weekend?
-
Account suspended for 48 hours without any explanations and warnings. Why exactly? I don't even play in action districts and I'm not that toxic (otherwise I'd be banned years ago considering account age).
-
Logged into the game in the morning, re-listed my expired auction items, attempted to log in couple hours later - got "account suspended for 46 more hours" message with zero details. Opened support ticket and decided to ask here as well - knowing how ticket response time can exceed weeks. Considering 1700+ untouched tickets and average 500 tickets processed by LO during a week - I guess this suspension may be a result of something I've typed in chat 2-4 weeks ago. So I have absolutely no clue what is going on and if my account may be already dead (after 5 years without any strikes - afaik) because I could have unknowingly repeated that offense again in between report and suspension. So - what exactly has happened? Ticket #79599 Disclaimer: I don't wear Nazi uniforms or nude symbols, I don't play in action districts, I don't talk racist/nationalist/sexism/etc. stuff in chat (or at least it's mild). Right now it look like someone is just checking if the suspension system works or not on my account? - while I'm losing whole weekend of sales.
-
Don't your own screen show how GMs not counted vs 40 players limit?
-
Go bronze district, new players in the opposite team will be grateful for you aren't being gold.

The abuse of N-Tech

This is a PvP-focused game - meaning 95% players won't like it for one reason or another. Some are real - like "small scale PvP is overly intense for me", "ARMAS prices are obscene", "the game should rotate through temporary guns as daily login rewards", etc. But some reasons are purely imaginative - like yours "N-Tec is OP" actually means you just cannot be happy with small scale PvP gameplay and are looking for a reason to quit. -
The game will remain semi-dead not because of a handful bad players but because it consist of overly intense small-scale PvP without any loot. To compare: Smite is a decent PvP game, it has similar amount of registered players *but* it also has a bit of PvE - 2.5x higher online. Path of Exile - similar amount of registered players *but* it's focused on PvE and has tons of loot - 20x higher online. Although some bans in APB will be helpful for sure.

Its been a while since the last update..

Previous two updates happened in the beginning of June and July. Next one must be in August - most likely in the beginning. And if it won't happen in the first decade of August then it's completely irrelevant because I'll be busy playing Monster Hunter PC release starting from August, 9 - till Halloween. -
If you think the trade system will reduce amount of scams - check EVE: it has 3 trade systems yet scams are so common that devs had to acknowledge them as a part of gameplay.
-
> 32Gb This one is irrelevant because the game's engine is so old that it cannot use more than 2Gb anyway. It would be fine with 6-8Gb RAM. If you experience stuttering then it's most likely the result of multiple re-logs from different accounts and characters - just restart the game and log in with your desired toon.
-
4 more hours till people will wake up in Cali (where LO's office located)... If it was a different, stable game (BDO, Neverwinter, Tera, etc.) then I'd say how I smell a compensation for the downtime.
-
1 hour later - still cannot login. This isn't usual server crash wih follow-up reboot. Hopefully, it's surprise buttsex trade interface patch.
-
I'd pause premium for 3-10 years, till actually decent mission matchmaking and/or fun game progression mode.
-
Is LO going to add in-game trading for G1C currency? Like it's done in Warframe. Fact is - people hoard such currencies instead of spending them thus it greatly increase sales. Also can we get weekly/monthly premium as tradeable in-game item? Like PLEX in EVE and similar tokens in WoW and TERA (iirc).
-
Steam recently leaked player numbers and it turned out APB isn't that small: it has 5.8M registered players through Steam only (total number must be at least twice higher). Yet there are barely 2k Steam online players in June according to SteamCharts. Similar situation is with PvP-focused Smite (5k Steam online). At the same time comparable PvE games have x10-20 online (Path of Exile: 8M registered users, 42k June online). Considering this data PvE mode/district may increase population at least tenfold, instantly. Do LittleOrbit consider adding PvE mode to APB or creation of PvE-focused clone game? APB Zombie for example - it could be immensely fun and get major player base increase.
-
APB Must be hard work. We need to get behind LO
Letter replied to Seedy's topic in General Discussion Archive
Hopefully, LO will be able to pull the game back to 5k population per server * 10 servers. -
1) get a sticky note, 2) cut out thin frame out of it, 3) stick it into the center of your monitor for a game session 4) win! (without breaking any rules and/or being detected by anti-cheat soft) 5) remove then you don't need it anymore.
-
I didn't play for couple weeks and somehow car driving became much more responsive now. Something has changed on servers.
-
Expected to see fun (and probably clumsy) dev's gameplay stream - got streams shutdown announce instead. It's starting to feel like APB is cursed. Devs, please, re-consider. Or add PvE district to avoid "vs our players" situation
-
Today I've tried driving in districts after a break - it feels much more responsive. Almost as if I drove different cars before. Like I was never able to drive V20 Jericho without crashes, but now it's easy. Is it better servers or driving has been adjusted?
