  1. I am totally in agreement with this !
  2. I honestly cannot see how using discord or teamspeak would be against the tos. I know it says "3rd party programs" but I always thought discord and teamspeak was not considered an intrusive program or something that could be applied to cheating. Most every online game allows for these programs because it's basically a communication program and I've seen many a developer or GM use the program itself. Still for the sake of clarification it would be nice to hear an official ruling for this game. PS and oh my God I used the word "program" 5 times ! I am getting repetitious in my older years lol
  3. I take someone off my ignore list after a mission. I really despise some death themes. As far as what anyone says to me in game that's negative I just shrug, I've been called alot worse. I did though did the same as you mentioned. Everyone I had on my ignore list from years before are off.
  4. iirc I think something was mentioned in the old g1 forums that they also have to adjust the animations for each body type and sex. Something like for every animation they had to make 8 variants of it to fit all the body meshes and account for clipping issues with clothing as well. But I could have that all wrong for all I know .
  5. I do still hold out some hope that as I keep playing I will meet a group that just wants to have fun with the game. Some light at the end of the tunnel for me is that hopefully a good friend of mine will be returning 2-3 weeks from now so that's going to be something to look forward to as we did alot of projects in the old forums from making a comic book for the holidays to enhanced screenshots. I hope I do not give off the impression that I believe every player in this game is a jerk. I have had some good experiences as well. Two that come to mind was very recent where in one instance I was driving along some road in Waterfront and a Enforcer was lining up cars across to block the road. I thought "that looks interesting" and just started to help the guy with his project. We must have got three rows of cars lined up but it was fun and just something to do. Another was an impromptu race that just started when I was being chased by some other players. There we were, Crims and Enforcers driving after each other and just killing time by having a good time. I play a criminal character but I have had good conversations with the opposition. I will often compliment in either in district chat or PM if they made a real good kill or surprised me with an ambush that worked really well. I have helped many a new player around whether Crim or Enf to just get the basics down and give some advice on strategy because I know what being a noob feels like. I for the record die alot more than I kill but that's the learning experience. Too many I see take winning at all costs the focal point of playing this game and for me that's a real fast way to burn out in here. If your only goal in this game is too act like an elitist, trash your teammates and your opponents and just make every mission a by all end all of your existence then you really are missing out on anything of value you could have had in this game.
  6. What I noticed from the first video shown by the OP was the fact that they were all in voice chat. I really miss that aspect of any game, now more than ever. In games I played in the past whether it was a faction/guild/clan/fleet etc. Whenever we had voice chat it just made the game more fun for me. You joked about everything and talk about just anything that was funny or ironic. Yeah it was a good tool tactically in that you didn't have to type everything but I think it also made the camaraderie more organic. Maybe it was the people I played with (and do I miss I bunch of them!) that made the game all the better. I'm not saying that the APB today doesn't have those type of people, they just don't seem to be around as much as before or I keep missing them.
  7. Hey I was away for quite awhile lol
  8. I asked in Social , Waterfront, Financial and google. I also searched here and still no answers. I wanted to know where can you get those bunny ears? Is it an event related item? Something I missed in Armas? Reputation item?
  9. Two questions I have about this is how difficult is it to make new animations? Also, is it possible to transfer some of the npc animations to our characters? (sitting and leaning specifically). I have seen some videos of some gaming companies that use a body suit with sensors attached to do animations. Is there more to it than just that? I'm not trying to petition that the developers start a project like this but was just curious about the process.
  10. I think that was for console only. For today though I think it might be too early for any update about the event or patch. maybe in a few hours they might have something.
  11. So far I haven't seen anything that would indicate that the event starts today. Maybe the weekend they might start the event? Also no patch when I logged in the game as well and that was like ten minutes ago.
  12. Other than the mouse accelerator, what about a regular gaming mouse? I was thinking of getting one so I wouldn't have to search on my keyboard for the crouch, jump, ammo box, etc keys and just assign them to the mouse. Is that something that could get you banned? (I'm thinking that you might be considered "Macro'ing" but I really don't know if that is so. I only have a regular mouse right now).
  13. Sometimes either you are the opposition will have their weapons pointed down in CQC. The shots will still land but I have seen alot of hackusations come from that. I had to tell one guy on my team that it is more likely an animation glitch than a hack. Hell I have seen my character do it as well. The only other weird thing I have seen is sometimes when you are aiming at another player they will jump, disappear, and then reappear where they were supposed to land. The thing is they can do this in rapid succession. Now I was told this is done on purpose (I guess speedhack?) But not sure if this is just another glitch.
  14. Do Enforcers have stun grenades as well? I know if one is trying to stun me they will lob a grenade over my way and any weak state I end up in then it's something like three or four shots from the stabba and that's it. Alot of the success/failure of this issue comes down to experience on either side. I've seen some Enforcers that have alot of trouble at any range trying to stun someone while the more experienced ones can nail you midrange. I've tried several tactics to see what could work against getting stunned but again it comes down to who's doing the shooting. To be honest though, I wouldn't mind having something like a stun device and hog-tie a few Enforcers! but I dream....lol
  15. I agree with the entitled mentality being tiresome. We have alot of folks in society now that demand instant gratification. Nevermind the logistics or any feasible timetable, if it's not done now then the snide comments and derision not to mention the complaining become open season. If I was Matt Scott, I wouldn't let any of his developers so much as glance at these forums. I look at the topics in the forum and its always seems predominately some complaint or doom thread. It would be one thing if the criticism was constructive but more often than not it's laced with insults and for me you lose whatever point you were trying to make. Patience is a virtue and that has never been truer as in these times but sadly I think many have lost alot of that attribute.
  16. I think they are doing a good job so far. Some bumps along the way but all in all (for me at least) a very good effort!
  17. Been watching that game (SCUM) looks pretty promising.
  18. I can't argue with letting someone in that was falsely banned and I do believe in giving someone a second chance to play this game without cheating. I have been active in this game for a month and a half now so I am not a pro at spotting the cheaters, hackers, exploits, macros, etc. I think in only one instance I was 50% sure that another player was cheating but if you listen to the chat, the accusations fly around like a whirlwind. I do hope though that LO has a separate list for the ones that were previously banned to someone that might get banned now (or in the future) compare the two lists so it becomes a perma-ban. Basically saying "you got a second chance to make good , you blow this and there is no coming back here."
  19. I am hoping to join a clan or group after I get my headphones. One because typing during a mission is suicide and two I really would like to do missions with folks I can talk to or just hang out and participate in events. I used to love hanging out with guild mates and forming friendships, I think for me that just makes the game better.
  20. There are alot of themes I do like hearing. One guy last night had a piece from Toto (Africa). I had to tell the guy that it made my night to hear a song from my past, even in death. Little did I know I would hear that song alot that night ! LOL
  21. Awesome ! Thank you for that ! Ok so it's one suggestion then !
  22. Well not really new ideas but something I would like to see happen if possible. In Star Trek Online they have a chat option where you can shut off certain channels or mute them if you will. I know playing that game was much better with the district chat turned off and I think it would work pretty well here. At least for me I find the talk on district from distracting to just crappy (and that's me trying to be kind about it). If I just had the other channels on I would be totally fine with group, clan, and team chat on. Second thing (and yes I have asked about this before) is the ability to lower the volume or mute some death themes. I won't get into the "heyheyheyhey " spam theme because that's been done to death. It's the one that sounds like that high pitch sound you hear just before they announce an Emergency Broadcast. They are of varying tones but the volume is turned up way too high. I'm just hearing it from my speakers but I don't even want to think about it with headphones on. In closing I'll leave a tip, "never leave your headphones unattended with a Corgi that thinks it's a chew toy" I paid the price for that lol.
  23. I believe criticism is a good way to give feedback provided that it is constructive. I don't believe that Matt Scott or the devs that read the forums are going to throw in the towel because of some harsh comments but I wouldn't expect them to take those type of comments seriously either. They have had this game for what? 6 months at the most? I just don't see how some folks expect some incredible turnaround in even twice that time. I expect them to make mistakes, people and companies do that from time to time. I don't expect them to knock it out of the park with every move they make. Compared to G1 8 years to make some progress with the game, I think LO has been doing a good job so far. I am going to stick around and see how this goes, I will be optimistic but cautiously so. If I was willing to wait for G1 all these years to turn the game around, I can give LO some time as well.
