  1. This is defenitely the main reason as to why APB has been in decline for years, no one can even reach their mission with these treacherous traffic lights keeping us from moving our cars. All we can do is hope some newbie comes which doesn't know any better than to ram straight into the traffic lights.
  2. Because it would be confusing if you would find some LTL weapons outside of the LTL catagory. Their primary function is stunning as so they are they sold as such. If you do happen to kill someone with it, which it is not designed for, it happens to reward you in the pistol (gunslinger) role because it is after all a secondary weapon. Primary and secondary do not refer to a weapon catagory and because so far all secondaries have been pistols, they have been classified as such and they reward in that role upon killing. The alternative is that you get no role reward because there is no role for killing someone with a stun gun, I know your english isn't top notch and that might not help, but it really isn't that hard to grasp and there really isn't anything to complain about here.
  3. Does Yood play on Jericho? Or Citadel? Theres a bit of a threat level difference there as well you know. More on topic, hes got cop level maxed, and throughout that all got just 2 kills with his pistols which I assume were accidental LTL pistol kills since he only seems to be playing LTL. Whats the issue there?
  4. Obviously the tutorial needs a rework indeed. I myself, probably along with others am not a big fan of spoonfeeding tutorials but.... even Path of Exile is more intuitive than this game is considering it's genre. I say increase the green threat level so it actually exists rather than being something theoretical, level lock their districts and rework that tutorial drastically. Any die hard that likes a steep learning curve as long as they can skip the tutorial, will do so anyways and use his or hers own resources if he or she needs to. Right now the tutorial is nothing more than a bother to the experienced player which made a new character, and a huge wall of text I doubt even 1/20 bothered to read leaving the newbies frustrated and confused. Give players the option to skip the tutorial if they have already completed it once on that account (once per account is reasonable), and if not skipped lock em in a cage with the other newbies with a billboard-in-the-face like step by step tutorial that actually helps them learn the essentials (Like telling them there are no headshots and that you can be shot around cover and underneath cars, rather than displaying it only in the loading screen). I see no point in leaving the actual new players vulnerable to being preyed upon by veteran players, that tradition has lived long enough as well as the bible like tutorial no one bothers to read. If I come across as frustrated it is because from my point of view, it really shouldn't be that darned hard to improve this situation, really isn't.
  5. Secondary weapons are all pistols, all of em. How is this an issue though? I mean it is not an arrest if you dont cuff em, so it doesn't reward in the cop role. Should enforcers receive no role reward when their LTL pistol ends up killing a person? Sounds a bit dubious to me really and I dont even play enforcer.
  6. Best gaem, just needs rocket jumping like TF2 to balance, perfect solution no doubt.
  7. There's many reason for the population stagnations we see over the past 3 months, personal agendas, game releases, toxicity, improper matchmaking mostly due to all players being cramped into 2 skill level indicators in terms of districts. It all adds up, and this recent shotgun meta surely isn't helping. The way you'd want to solve those kind of issues, like with any issue can be once certain steps in the attempt to fix it are set. Most commonly you can catagorize these steps under the following, or subtle variations on them. 1. Ascertain there is an issue 2. Acknowledge the issue and research it's most prominent symptoms 3. Gather wide-scale feedback based on experiences from the community involved through elaborate question regarding the symptoms 4. Try to utelize the information gathered in steps 2 & 3 in an attempt to ascertain the root of the issue, or the complexity of multiple factors involved 5. Hypothesize how well the root-cause relation or complexity can be adjusted to fix the most prominent symptoms of the issue 6. Apply small adjustments and evaluate the results, if the results are satisfactory, re-evaluate if there is still an issue. If the results are not satisfactory, go back to step 4 and readjust with the new information received. Naturally, the OP is not making an attempt at fixing the issues he or she experiences, he or she is simply venting his or hers frustrations about the issue he or she is experiencing as if this was twitter. The answer to most questions surrounding his or her issues or possible solutions to improve on the situations is: No, he or she didn't think about it, doesn't want to think about it and there is no real answer he or she is looking for either. Best case he or she simply wants confirmation from the community about the stagnation in population and that they are just as frustrated about it as he or she is, which could be comforting. Judging by Sock's previous actions thusfar none of the above applies to him or her, so conversing with him or her about the topics he or she presents I would advise against. All it does from my point of view: Start pissing contests, insinuate crowd-echoing is effective and keep the most negative aspects of any forums alive this one as well as if they were well appreciated traditions. Venting upon venting and venting about venting leading to nothing but frustration on either end. Silence is golden when it comes to these things. Hopefully I too will take note of that rather than desperately trying to change it.
  8. I wasn't aware of that, I've only known the pre-last-patch shredder. I simply assumed it would be a NFAS with extended range and assumed no shotgun would excell past 20m, bad assumptions apparantly.
  9. 25 meters is not the intended niche for the shredder though, not even the CSG I'd think.
  10. There could be all sorts of reasons for the playerbase stagnation, real life agendas very likely are a considerable factor in this as well. Worst case scenario: The hype of LO taking over and sprinkling fairy dust all over APB is decaying. That was to be expected either way though, these charts do not show anything worth calling a doomsday over, yet.... dun dun steam bun.
  11. Just came back from a lovely holiday in Ireland, bit disappointed to see the game has become a bit less enjoyable, for now atleast. I don't get the fuss going on though. It's not like APB was all that balanced and well optimized a month ago, sure it was more enjoyable than it is now and surely if it keeps going downhill it'll be harmfull to the community. This however, is all very marginal and sensible seen the ideas LO wants to implement in APB. No point in throwing a hissy fit towards a bike mechanic over a broken bike which he damaged further during an attempt to fix it. Sure it is annoying and time consuming but expecting a linear line of improvement with just about anything is as unwise as it is troublesome to life with.
  12. +1 19 posts Joined Nov 2014 Thinks he's likeable unlike others, proclaims hes known for someting, claims other are fools for trying to hint towards possible fixes for his issues because he is 100% certain this is caused by an external factor which only LO can fix. I think i'll have a go at writing a letter towards oxford, have them change the defenition of delusional. I'll probably have my way since appartanly I have been crowned the king of the nerds by the great overlord of the interwebs, so I outrank them anyways.
  13. 6 / 10, not really my style so finding it rather hard to rate it positively, can't rate it negatively either because it isn't necessarily poorly composed or cheap.
  14. Well as an exaggerated example, you can have a better stability, which is what matters most when playing games or voice chatting, with dial up, than with fiber optics. That is if your connection is simply that unstable or strained. Bottom line is, theres a whole lot more going on with connections than simply your up/downspeed and ping in ms, a whole lot more.
  15. Any topic which is to be generally discussed an is APB related, per section description. This thread could be deemed as such since it isnt really off topic, technical or promotional.
  16. Small differences, but ye, differences.
  17. @Triksterism You are referring to PLEX in EVE I am guessing? (Ex-EVE player). In a game like EVE it very befitting though, seen as how grind heavy it is, it actually creates an in-game market as well as an exterior market for EVE which makes it ever so much more interesting. EVE is a bit special in that sense though, amongst other things.
  18. Sure 21% seems excessive, it probably is. But to show clear differences it's best to start with drastic changes and water it down to a sweetspot, I believe this is what they're trying to do. IR3 does need a change, though personally I feel like Heavy barrel needs it even more.
  19. s = backpedal Hes saying all you gotta do to kill an ogre user, is take a few steps back.
  20. Thusfar it adds up to 7 Crims vs 24 Enforcers, well within anticipation seen as you can notice small hints that suggest these numbers as well in game (Generally you see more high or max level enforcers suggesting theres more dedicated players on that side, atleast on Citadel, I assume it is similar on Jericho.). Personally I stick to the Criminal side because I am really into the Yakuza themed clan I have going on my main character. Naturally most dedicated APB players play on both sides, all these speculations only apply to preferences of course. However I do feel like there is something essential lacking on the criminal side which would make playing as criminal distinctively different than playing just your average thug in a game like GTA, because I think we can all agree on said playstyle being fun for only a short while. This might be a over the top generalization but I tend to think the criminal faction is the more appealing faction to new players. Like most folks who start playing GTA for the first time in their lives, they embrace the freedom offered in the game and run rampant within, because it's fun, for a while atleast. Naturally there are plenty of players which find the cop role in a cops and robbers setting more appealing, but (without any statistics to back up my suspicions) I tend to think the thug life has a stronger pull on the new guy. Then as the new players start learning the game, many of course drop out because APB is APB being an odd shooter in the first place and on top of that with a very steep and unforgiving learning-curve which dictates the way the game should be played way stronger than you can possibly know from watching a couple of gameplay videos. Those who don't drop out and actually persist, run into a new issue as they progress through the learning phase. Teamplay, becomes a major issue. As we all know solid teamwork and good tactics contribute more to a victory than personal skill (Considering all players in a mission can perform decently at the least). On that note, on Citadel atleast, I notice the average lvl of a silver player on criminal is below R200, most of the time, far below it. Seen as theres often more criminals than enforcers on, and on average the R lvl being lower I think it is somewhat fair to assume there's more new players on the criminal side most of the time, also because of what I stated before. In bronze districts, it seems like on average during a mission, the average level on the criminal side is well below that of the enforcer side. Not an issue for me, or your average dedicated player that grinds his way to R200+ or has already done so on the enforcer side. But for the new guy, now 2-3 weeks into the game making him more of a veteran newbie, it often is. There's a general consensus that it is mostly enforcer players dethreating and wanting to stomp newbies and because of this you see a lot of toxicity flowing out from the average silver play in a bronze district on a daily basis. I talk quite a bit in district chat, often enough ridiculing angry statements or on my better days, trying to share some insight on the matter. There's plenty of players which do that on a daily basis, which on average is good unless it turns into overextensive argueing. Our veteran newbie has a hard time understanding why he is consistently matched up against players that have way more experience, time invested, gear unlocked and often enough invested money into the game where-as they don't see the point in doing that yet. I would very much like to see the statistic on the average life span of a new player, catagorized by faction as well to confirm this theory. I doubt such statistics are available and very much doubt LO would do any good by it and or see any reason to show me this in the first place. Either way, 2 walls of text further, I suspect the following. Criminal side lacks appeal in terms of distinctive features that are satisfactory on average for the more persistent players. This in turn causes a risk of the initial appeal to the criminal side to rebound because of their time already invested. Widely acknowledged, also by LO, the steep learning curve with a distinctive lack of guidance causes a lot of misunderstandings during the learning progress. (Not trying to specifically point this out in this thread or post, just thought it was undeniable and also a root cause of the complex of issues. Which leads to a couple of points which I described before, in the wall of text; Making the Enforcer side more appealing for the long term player. This in turn creates the risk of a difference in dedication between factions causing a difference in experience and sometimes skillgap. I hope all this makes sense to some of you, and I would be happy to receive your thoughts and or commentary on the subject. Also, I would like to specifically point out, this is not a cry of "unfair!", I am quite happy with APB's current state in many aspects and I enjoy the criminal side plenty (Even though even I play a bit of Fruitcake with a NL-9 every now and then just to mix it up.) and I have little issue with my average matchmaking as I play, whether that is on a silver district or on a bronze district. In a proper matchup I go full tryhard with meta weapons, in an unballanced match I pull out more wonky guns or guns I havent practised that much with yet. Either way I am happy to play. I merely felt like I might be onto something which could lead to something that can help make the game more enjoyable for the average new player. Again, any thoughts on this would be appreciated and if you made it this far through my hazy monologue, thanks for reading as well.
  21. I am to blame as well, I misunderstood the Cake vs Pie part, thought you meant that as a comparison to the criminal vs enforcer discussion. Let us commence an extensive gomenasai festival to reconcile, i'll start.
  22. @Fortune RunnerNot to pick a bone with you but, "Social District (General Discussion) Discuss all things APB Reloaded related here!", comes across to me as if this topic is very befitting of the catagory. I do not understand how you come to the conclussion it wouldn't. EDIT: Makes sense, I misunderstood you.
  23. It is, I play both factions as well, with a strong preference towards Criminals. If you have a more neutral preference that is alright as well. @Fortune Runner Try and define the term general in a way that would prove my point wrong and I will consider asking for a transfer. Reason I see this thread to fit General discussion quite well is because: A; It is a general topic, game related, aimed at the average forum user. B; This thread can lead to feedback on factions and reasoning behind preferences, which can be valuable data for LO if discussed well. C; Off-topic is where most people would expect non-apb related or not related to in game features at the least
  24. What are we divided on? Players are divided between faction in terms of preference, my curiousness led me to the following question: What is the player dividence in terms of faction preference. I am not sure whether you are trying to play the nazi when it comes to English currently, or just having fun being silly, either way I can assure you it is an old but still widely used term, dividence that is. When a trader wants to adjust his import of goods, he may ask the following question to whomever can answer it to the best extent: What is the dividence on sales? EDIT: I do realize it might be very uncommon in American english, since generally speaking American english avoids using french and latin terminology. It is however not rare in my country and I have found this term to be used rarely but surely in British english as well. @Fortune Runner, it is pretty much on topic, and pretty much a general topic though.
