  1. They can't do much about it unless it becomes a frequent thing really. And so I think it's best, not to mention business-model wise, if permanent unlocks stay as a paid for feature of the game.
  2. Hackusations are thrown at every player in their moment of brilliance really. I love the carbine, don't use it often anymore though. Carbine offers a nice mix of mid to short range capability, there where the NTEC becomes really hard to use, but is very much on par with the ATAC depending on the situation. Carbine excells at offering a more controlled ammo usage over the atac whilst still being as lethal imho. But to reply @Excalibur!, which I am personally not a fan of at all, truth be told. Carbine is not, ever, no way, whats wrong with you? Overpowered. If a carbine beats an NTEC at any but "not right in the face CQC", you are not using the NTEC right. I'm not a fan of using a SMG because, well I prefer bigger guns firstly, but also I dislike their lack of adaptation. I know you should use your secondary to compliment your lack of ranged combat, but I prefer having a weapon in my hands that allows me to perform decently at most ranges if used well, and having the good ol obeya pistol as a backup incase I need to finnish someone off and shouldnt waste time on reloading. But thats just my playstyle really, all comes down to preference in terms of that. I prefer the more mixed assault rifles and semi's as a replacement for shotgun and smg favourable mission locations to adept. The ATAC, which I love but truth be told, I find it too easy to use, so rather the Carbine which requires a lot more skill and thinking in my opinion. But still, I like using them both, and situationally they are advantageous to use, but they do not stand up to the NTEC if used well, STAR as well somewhat. Calling the Carbine OP is absolute bonkers in my most honoust of opinions.
  3. What about gathering a lot of interesting items on an account and selling said account then?
  4. Well I wouldn't go as far as saying all customer interaction is a matter comparable with dealing with fecal matter. But customer support often is atleast. Unless said employee enjoys having helped the customer so much the process doesnt bother you in comparisson.
  5. Indeed, and since there is no way to gain permanent unlocks through increased grinding rates, besides a couple of cars which barely anyone finds interesting, there's no money to be made in APB by cheating. Unlike PUBG where more wins = more loot boxes = increased chances of getting rare drop = serious cash = no money lost on getting banned and perhaps money gained. So keep that in mind when suggesting permanent unlocks as well.
  6. Dealing with customer support is much like clearing a growing elephants droppings on a daily basis. It is not a whole lot of fun to do, though the tidyness of having cleaned the join can be somewhat satisfying of course. But as you are swinging those lumps on a weekly basis, you will notice it will become more by the day, it doesnt get any more fun to deal with and there is no end to it in the long run. Please consider this when bashing on customer support, or take a job at a zoo to be able to relate more to the issue they are dealing with.
  7. As SelttikS stated, this video is from 2014. It is not relevant to the current gamestate at all. Take that all in mind, and continue enjoying Kemp's frustrations like I did.
  8. If you have been in FC actively over the passed few weeks, you will come to know a couple of names, which are often on the top or near it. I can confidently say none of the ones I have encountered, and I have played atleast over 12 hours of FC in the passed few weeks, are cheaters. They can destroy you to the point it becomes frustrating sometimes, but at other times, you win straight up confrontation, even in situations where they should have had the upper hand. I can't speak for the Jericho servers since I only play on Citadel, so my views might be irrelevant to you. However, what I've noticed since the battle-eye implementation, is a lot less suspicious folks. Before you'd often run into someone you could suspect of using Macros for the perfect firerate, which can often be recognized through the consistency in shooting patterns, no matter the range. What I mean is, even if you get behind them, they will fire at a single tapping tempo rather than going for bursts or full-automatic, which can sometimes cost them their life's. As for triggerbots and aimbots, I find it hard to imagine they are still frequently used. I myself am not that great of a player, constantly on the verge of bottom gold, top silver, and rarely ever run into players that consistently destroy me in situations where I would stand a decent chance. I can track my own growth over the passed few weeks as I started playing again recently, also a Veteran of 2013 though with a lot less time invested than most of you I reckon. And as I measure myself against the players that did me in a few weeks ago, I can state that most of the time now, I have a decent chance of standing up to them and in a flow of brilliance even destroy them like they did to me before from time to time. Triggerbots and or aimbots, will nearly always kill you in the min TTK, I have yet to encounter such a player that does this consistently once more. Now I'm not a battle-eye fanboy, like someone already stated before me as well, I as well have played a lot of PUBG and have to draw the conclussion, even if it is good anti-cheat software, it has been and most likely still is been overrun by bypasses and hackers tuning their programs well. That doesnt mean however that it is entirely useless, so there's no need to slam on it just because it can't stop all the hackers. The lack of consistency in keeping hackers out in games, which is a growing problem in all games, is due to the hacker market expanding. Ever since Cryptocurrencies and other payment bypasses, they have become easier and safer to sell thus creating a market interest in it. Though I cannot completely agree with the statement "Once a cheater, always a cheater" I do acknowledge there is a level of truth in there. Since your morals have already defiated once, it is more likely you will bow to it once more, especially if punishment hasn't been sufficiently harsh enough to keep you from it. Like stealing from the cookie jar as a kid, do it once and left uncaught or not punished properly, theres a good chance your boundaries have already shifted to the point you will not stop doing it. It is human nature after all, we all need negative feed back loops for the stuff we shouldnt commit in life and well, those have to be created and upheld by your surroundings untill you yourself will start enforcing it on yourself and others. But thats enough of me rambling on. Boldly said, a statement I can agree with: Once a cheater, more likely to cheat again. -> So spank that digital bottom till it wont dare sit down for the next month or so otherwise you're not helping the cheater, or their victims. Personally I think LO to some extend has the same philosophy about cheaters, but had to cut corners (make compromises) because of FairFight and G1st's own mistakes, which is quite sensible. I'd say the community needs to have some faith in their views and movement and support it. Rather than flooding them with needless argueing and discussions which can often be as much of a waste of Bits as they are a waste of time of the authors and or commentors.
  9. Like any game, muscle memory is very important in this game, in the sense that some if not most reactions should be patternized. If you feel like you are lacking in this segment, you need to contemplate on each death and consider the factors that caused your death (Some situations of course, you simply can't avoid and as such not every death is necessarily your own fault. Since some areas need to be traversed and simply offer no cover and under certain angles or setups not even mobile cover can save you. Or as example, an npc car rolling into your final burst, saving the enemy you were about to down, allowing him or her to assist his teammate in taking you down, stuff like that.). Point is, look for the factors in the game you can influence, calculated risks you should or shouldnt take, and you will improve. I agree with Mitney's statement about having gotten tired of the game as well, if this is the case, if loss annoys you too much and wins dont satisfy you enough anymore, then analyzing the game as you play will just add to that frustration most of the time, especially if you dont have much left to learn in the game. Hooking up with other players/friends you know you enjoy playing with, and preferably also talking to should add to your experience. I myself still have a lot to learn in this game which I enjoy the most in games, since APB really offers a challenge where strategizing, fast reaction times and momentual decision making are more important than raw aiming skills (Like being able to headshot in every situation).
  10. I threw money at my screen as I read through the thread but the trolling didn't get any better. Actually it seemed to stutter during the counter-recounter troll-phase for a little but lost connection soon afterwards. I tried jamming more bills into the CPU fan in a desperate attempt of improving on the situation, but like the comments, it caught fire. I drew the conclussion that perhaps my cash wasn't doing it any good so I jammed my ATM card up there as well seen as it's digital currency was most likely more befitting as a solution. This seemed to work, it attracted firefighters and police-officers which after some consulation managed to put out the fire. I was told not to spend my money in such a way and was harshly told off, but luckily, also refered to a IT guy which explained to me why my investments weren't paying off the way I wanted to: "Cash and digital currencies merely represent gold and its value". That's when it hit me, or him rather, gold bouillon. Which left me with the trollface I was desperate to see, though lacking in terms of grinning and truthfully jawline awhole. Long story short: Dont just throw money at the issue, gold bouillon or bars are your key to success.
  11. Ive been dealing with this issue as well, since yesterday. It could be a technical issue on my end, but seen as I atleast wasn't bothered by it at all up till the most recent update (Yesterday?), my guess is it has something to do with either the new patch or the recent server issues
  12. That is somehwat what I was going for with my comment as well. I think it's fine to have exclusive content limited to the armas store and even if that inhibbits certain gameplay features. But completely locking the F2P players out of drastricly gamechanging weaponry is a bit much in my experience. F2P players are very limited in terms of weapons to pick from when properly counterpicking and I think that just takes the fun out of it for them in the long run. Some weapons should be considered new additions and added to role progression I think, and some variants of weapons with special modifiers, strictly bound to armas store and perhaps joker store.
  13. I reckon it would be the most fair to those who spent their money on said ARMAS items, and helpfull to the F2P dedicated players, if said items would actually become Joker store items in the usual or preferably rebalanced state of modifications and only through ARMAS available with open mod slots in some cases. With the exception of exceptional weaponry which overhaul gameplay which I will explain further below. If all the ARMAS weaponry would be simple reskins of the standard weapons, I wouldn't even think about it, since they would be simply cosmetics. However this is not the case at all, with some weapons it is the case of course, but for an instance, the ATAC is simply uncomparable to all the standard weapons to according to my experience. That itself is an issue which LO should try to improve on in my opinion, G1st has created a fairly big inbalance in terms of weaponry over the years. Though we can't really call it P2W because the weapons are ever so situational and with most weapons being specialistic and coming down to the enviroment its used in whether or not they outperform other weapons. We can however state that the current weaponry gives paying players an overall advantage in terms of adaptability to situations which, if used well, adds to their advantage. I personally find the ATAC a perfect example of this inbalance, though I love playing with it and the way it looks. It really is the lazymans assault rifle seen as it is one of the few assault rifles with the ability to perform walking close-to-mid range combat, and even excell at close range combat, most importantly, without modifiers. Naturally it doesn't hold a candle to an NTEC if used incredibly well, NTEC manages to outperform nearly every weapon at any but long range when facing snipers, which in my opinion is fine, because it is indeed incredibly hard to perform that well with it in all situations. With the ATAC however this is not the case, it is just as easy to perform well in CQC with this gun as it is to perform moderately at mid to long (Though said range clearly not bringing out the best of it). If anything I would like to compare this gun to the STAR which also offers more mobility whilst firing than the NTEC counterpart which is harder to controll. But the ATAC feels like a star with Reflex Sight 3, Cooling Jacket 3 and Improved rifling 3, and that's without modifications. I myself permanently own the ATAC Patroller (Which I have received a lot of negativity about) the Joker CR5 PR-2 and the Obeya SBW-SD PR-2. Out of these, I only find the ATAC to be uncomparable to standard weaponry, but I do have some suspicions about the N-SSW also being nearly uncomparable to standard guns. In conclussion: It's not that I would dare say the ATAC is OP or anything alike, but simply offers a type of gameplay and adaptability which the standard weaponry doesnt. In my honest opinion, that is fine, if F2P players had weapons to choose from and modifications to allow them to do the same. This is not the case though. Yes the weapon is available in the Joker store for lease, which gives F2P players plenty of choice in terms of some specialized weapons, but that doesnt go for all weapons, at all. Im fine with ARMAS weapons becoming more likely to be bought by making them more restricted in terms of usage by F2P players through the joker tickets system, but not with only making it so with all the popular specialized guns rather than all. Which is why I strongly believe some of these unpopular ARMAS items, which I actually have seen in the game, though rarely and except for a few, being used incredibly well but with no counterparts to pick from. Situational combat is everything in APB, and adapability in my opinion, should not be limited to paid items and the most popular ones. Which is why I voted to add those unpopular items to the Joker store, though I'd suggest having a good look at the weapons first and indeed, removing or changing controversial mod presets. Kind regards, Slickmund
