It costs basically nothing to keep a game online in maintenance mode. Meanwhile, the new players that keep joining will spend money on ARMAS, where everything is egregiously overpriced. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see how what little skeleton crew is left at G1/LO will be continuing to turn a profit on this.

Plus, you know, RTW kinda up and died before they could finish the game.
-
Probably. Say what you want about the Ruskies, but they actually gave a shit and developed the game.
-
Reminder that this game has the perfect foundation for clan territory (city block) control, with mission-based warfare to try and take more blocks or protect those you already have.

Imagine still not knowing in 2022, that RIOT was literally the reason for LO to """buy""" the game (read: just another K2 rebranding). They just wanted to make a quick buck on the BR hype train, but failed to produce something that was functional on even the most basic level. Failing that, they switched right back into "milk the plebs" mode, albeit with some better PR smoke and mirrors this time.

It tricks the simple minded into thinking there's actually active development / progress, thus causing them to spend money on ARMAS. It's a predatory, unethical, immoral, and just plain disgusting marketing tactic.

It amazes me that there are still enough people dumb enough to be spending money on the cash shop of a dead and abandoned game, to justify this ongoing maintenance mode. Then again, the world is in the state it's currently in because of people like them... so I guess it's not really surprising.

Same old shit, different brand.
-
They never will, either.

1) New players trying out the game, and then spending on ARMAS when they hit that initial high the game gives before they realize how hopeless it all is now. Yes, there are new players hopping into the game on a daily basis, despite what chucklefucks on the forum try to make believe otherwise. 2) Indefinitely. It costs next to nothing to keep a game going on maintenance mode, especially one with a playerbase as tiny as APB's. The only way APB shuts down from here is if MattScott chooses to shut it down, which he likely never will because it still makes him money (which he desperately needs after being clapped with those lost lawsuits).

Change consumables to mods with a cooldown, like they should've been in the first place.

fix the matchmaking or bring back the threat districts

80-100ms is the standard for any remotely decent online competitive shooter. -
You can do the same with Flak (or just running without a green mod), and the results still dust Kevlar. Kevlar is a meme mod, it's actually useless in real gameplay. Always has been, although it wasn't as bad before they introduced the movement penalties to it.

Brace yourself, that group is coming to tear you a new asshole for daring to suggest that particular quality of life improvement. -

I'll take "He doesn't know how elo systems work" for 500, Alex. -

Golds bring it on themselves. There's more than enough of them to fill multiple districts to capacity, they just refuse to hop in unless it's a bronze district. -
Pinned on the same page you accessed this thread from. Also, on their official devblog that is fully capable of being RSS'd.

Honest opinions - When the engine update dropping?
Hexerin replied to karmafull's topic in General Discussion Archive
Correct. The only thing LO can do is work on this specific game, they cannot remake it or release anything else under the APB name.
