Let's talk about some fixes everyone knows ought to be done...
Virgil replied to Baru's topic in General Discussion Archive
revert to late 2011 weapon balance every gun was properly balanced, and all were competitive ttkwise except the PMG and the DMR at that point in time, ignoring secondaries. -

Battle EyE Working as intended LOL
Virgil replied to crimsalife's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
didn't watch the video, because, i don't care, but, going to explain something as most of the people don't seem very knowledgeable on the subject. there are undetected cheats and detected cheats. if its undetected, you aren't going to get banned until its detected. even after its initially detected, you likely won't be banned until a wave hits. you then have detected cheats, depending on the setup of the anti-cheat program and the cheat you are using, you will either be banned instantly, or banned at the end of the wave. "but why waves, its stupid, it ruins my gameplay" because cheats are infinitely easier to make than an anticheat. if you were banned instantly the second you were flagged, it would make it easier to trial and error test a cheat. not to mention, the anticheats that flag people instead of outright banning via like statistics, likely do so, so the players can be investigated. in that case, instantly banning could result in false positives. there will also always be cheaters, in any game, its near impossible to stop. BE is probably -the- best in the industry for what it tries to do, and thats coming from the perspective of someone who was a roommate with someone who was trying to get into the industry. can't wait to come home from work and see another 9 dumb patootie threads like this -
gorgonHOOK APB Takeover
Virgil replied to slippiN's topic in Breakwater Galleria (Creations/Fan Art)
you know why people play with those settings like that? not to be a "pro g4m3r" its because playing with 23fps, while stuttering is unbearably frustrating and feels awful and has a direct impact on your game performance. and yeah, dumb video, i agree. -
Finally tried a mission after the patch...
Virgil replied to CookiePuss's topic in General Discussion Archive
Most of the people I play with, myself included. aren't playing because of how the game feels. It's not really enjoyable anymore. When we play, its either a complete curb stomp or a relatively fair match. If its a fair match, both sides abuse unfun mechanics because its the only way to play the game. everyone in pioneer/espacios with sp3, multiple people running car det, basically just car gameplay in this game is annoying. and then you have to deal with the fact that a missions ending, win or lose, is usually dictated on how much the mission fucks you and not really on anyones skill level because the vast majority of the base mechanics are broken beyond belief now, like the spawn system. It's also not really worth our time anymore to spend half the time we spend ingame in an unopposed mission just griefing eachother. At the minute, i'm playing Warframe and Pathfinder: Kingmaker. Doesn't appear to be any good shooters out anymore except QL/CSGO. -
Haven't seen any cheater on Jericho in quite some time now.

i dont get the meme but this is almost as cringy as most apb players overinflated, undeserved egos

The gun is already good.

They don't need a buff. I'm serious, we have several players who main LMGs and they are insane, and always have been. Most people just don't have the brainpower to properly utilize their surroundings with them and while as mean as that sounds, it's' quite true. Agreed, I bought the killer bee just for fun but it's really awful. Try facing Wish/Isley on NA. He pretty much exclusively uses the SWARM and easily outfrags most of the best players in the game with it most of the time.

knowing who you are im inclined to agree. +1, was fun, even if it doesn't get a spot on district select, it should be present. it is content.

Some of you may not know about these, and some have probably seen them ingame before, aimed for newer players though. 1. You can use a corner at a much tighter angle than you would think. Test ingame to see where you can still shoot past the wall while restricting visibility as much as possible. 2. You can restrict access to your side of the vehicle door to teleport on top of the car or to the other side, this is helpful for rushing people in vehicles as it will throw them off. The range is larger than youd think. 3. You can restrict access to a side of a vehicle door to instantly enter the vehicle. 4. Radar towers also work vertically, significantly so. For instance, you can park it on the first floor of the parking garage and see players on the top. 5. You can place ammoboxes in the back of the single cab truck ingame, making it useful for quite a few things. 6. Car missions such as Mah-Jong money and Repo-Racers will usually rotate a vehicle between several spots, you can reduce that number depending on location.. It is possible to push a vehicle to a certain spot on the map, for an enemy to get in it, for you to blow it up to effectively lock it in that area. The best example is the parking lot on the far east side of financial, next all those alleyways. This works in inverse. Tired of getting your car to spawn in the same two spots? Drive it away from the objective even, just to allow you more chances to get the vehicle. 6a. you can push vehicular mission objectives around, like burns and stuff. 7. Certain edges of the map, your spawns can be completely removed by enemies. This means one of two things. If you don't have a car spawner, you're going to hate yourself. If you do however, and are fortunate enough to have all your spawns restricted, the game will force you to spawn in that car. That includes if an enemy is right next to your vehicle. If you have a car spawner 800+m away, it will favor that one however, unfortunately. 8. You can place capture items on spray points that are available around the world. This buys you a couple seconds as usually it will keep forcing them to spray the objective instead of picking up the item, and in some cases, they have to actually spray their graffiti to get it. 9. As almost every player knows, objective items drop on the ground. If you see one, you can hold the item instead of the dropoff. 10. If you are able to get to the select few roofs in waterfront that are considerably strong, you can dodge the "out of bounds" message by crouching to reset the timer. 11. There are many guns that have incredibly fast TTS when used with the pig, some you wouldn't expect. For example, 3 shots with the Norseman (a considerably fast firing SMG), and a PIG, is an instant stun. 12. You do not lose accuracy when leaning or spamming crouch. For instance, align yourself on a corner so when you peek you are perfectly exposed to players A,B,C with your OBIR or RFP. You lean left, shoot your burst, and instantly unlean. From their perspective, it is almost impossible to hit you, from yours, they're sitting ducks. Probably used best in conjunction with a riot shield when you get gayed by enemy spawns. 13. To a new player, you will have visible players that you can't hit or damage despite having a red crosshair sometimes, specifically in certain locations. It's just because the wall isn't rendering at that distance. 14. Vegas + NOS + small slope is a good way to reach a lot of locations that are very easily defendable otherwise. Example would be German Roof. Car slings you forever away. 15. You can jump up the backside of a Pioneer. Just putting this here because so many people don't realize this, for some reason. 16. Fastest way to transport a medium item is by dropping, jumping, and picking it back up while going forward, all in the same motion. 17. You can use a friend on top of a railing or ledge, and you at the bottom while carrying a heavy item, and just have him/her try to pick it up while you drop it. It's pretty easy, and can get a heavy item off a railing that would otherwise take minutes to go around, when you can just fall off with it. There are a few cases where you can do this by yourself, but its much more difficult and clunky. 18. HVR still does full damage at close range, just pre-scope in while corner camping and get that easy frag. Don't wait till the last second or try to noscope. 19. As many seem blissfully unaware of this, there are many walls where an enemy's shadow will show up on the opposite side of the wall, instead of where it should. Guns and things also stick through walls. Align yourself accordingly people. 20. The glass double doors around the world, you can sometimes throw grenades/shoot grenades/flares/STUNPGL etc through them if it bounces off the ground right where it intersects with the two doors in the middle. This one is particularly hard to reproduce, but, it should be known, you've probably seen it done to you before. 21. In certain situations on defense, it is wise to be aggressive and push the enemy spawns. The further they die, the further they will spawn. This can actually ruin the game for them, as sometimes you will push them off an 80m spawn into a 200m one that won't get any closer thanks to the HORRIBLE spawn system, resulting in an EZ win. Normally though, itll just slowly push their spawns outwards as long as you are aggressive until it resets back to their original spots when they die there. i'll add more momentarily.

Just going to say something. If a gun was broken before, and nobody noticed because it was used, and now that people complain about it because it's used, it doesn't make it any less broken. You can stop repeating that bullshoot.
-
im pretty sure no one liked that either, take all the shredder posts and swap the csg in and its like apb took a time machine back to 2012 was nothing like you describe
-
Add Bang for your Buck and Mah-jong Money to this. I love car missions where you have to drive a car that blows up in one clip of a carbine. and a low yield
-
i doubt its just taking advantage of modern hardware. my current rig i purchased in 2013/2014, and back then i was able to keep 120+ fps in apb all the time, with barely any stutters. my rig has not changed at all, except for cooling, and my performance now is barely 50fps with continuous stutters that get worse the longer i play.

no shotgun melts like the shredder because its full auto, and instant reload with mp3 really matter of opinion, but, in the circumstances i referenced it is a bit necessary. stop trolling my dude.
-
good ol shredder longest range of all shotguns by 3x, 85s like all other shotguns (almost no pellets hitting), super mobile, fastest or second fastest reload in game with mp3, king of sub 30m range in all categories, destroys cars with a speed comparable to most AV weapons (faster than a DMR-AV, faster than an ALIG if close and using MP3), can fire it out of car windows too. hahaha "its balanced"

let me rewrite my last one "toxicity" for the most part is a bs buzz word, most people throw it around because they get offended extremely easy. half the things i see people bragging about reporting, are people trying to get offended over something that nobody its directed towards is offended over, generic SJW crap, as mean as this sounds. harassment and things of that nature should always be dealt with quickly, and it's a shame how many people left the game over it not being dealt with, but thats not entirely the same issue. a lot of the posters in here can resolve their issues with "toxicity" with the use of the ignore feature.

Virgil replied to MattScott's topic in General Discussion Archive
nobody good at the game uses scroll wheel on carbine, more delusional players. firing consistently is better than firing at max fire rate, and if you fire consistently for long enough, you will be able to fire it pretty quick. but who knows, this delusion will never go away, i've been called a macroer/scroll-wheel user since i started the game because I use almost exclusively marksman guns, but never have, same with a lot of old MBAH players. it's almost like nobody does it. -
only pistols worth using = fbw/rfp and its fang variant neither are remotely difficult to use, rfp just has slightly higher ttk, and can slam out assault rifels within certain ranges, not to mention it has the the same benefit of shotguns, and things like the obir, where you can quickly peek for .0001 seconds and do full damage with no chance for the enemy to react, much less hit you.
-
ill agree to this when bad missions are balanced.

figured id bump this with some nostalgia old threats: leaderboards:

so many people in here not aware how to play with a shotgun "oca > shotgun" haha what the fuck are you smoking, you must be playing against some downers "i just stay 30m away" yeah, in the current meta of the game, you don't. every good player uses a pioneer or espacio with steel plating 3, and they control the game by rushing you in vehicles, because its near impossible to destroy those vehicles quickly without your team all shooting it (still lasts a long time), or an AV weapon. what you guys seem to experience is completely different than what the high end percentage of golds experience, and its baffling. I played five missions tonight, every single one had at least two shotguns on the enemy team present. Out of the five missions, three had shredders present. Out of the five missions, four of them were four man premades, all using meta fits (car spawner/sp3 pioneers, shotguns, with obeyas/obirs for ranged coverage) I'm not even sure what game you guys are doing, but, I play the game the same way everyone else i go up against does, and thats to basically sit in my car until i have a 100% advantage over whoever i choose to engage, be it a corner or a teammate, and without a shotgun, said person doesn't have much of a chance,
