chiming in again to suggest reverting what the 2015 sprint-shoot patch did to semi-auto guns like the Scout and Obir, which did not need to be affected in the first place thx- 532 replies

I thought this thread was going to be about latency added between switching sides from the server. Instead we got another "realism in apb" thread. bummer. Not trying to be toxic here, but one of the guys some of you are putting energy into arguing with is a fight club drooler known to hackusate anyone with a functioning wrist. Don't bother.

Look at it this way right How often are weapons/mechanics nerfed in modern FPS games? How often of those mechanics were borderline broken overpowered? The ratio isn't close to 1:1, you get what I mean? And that's okay. Devs often do that in popular online games to shift the meta to taste. -

The "take it away" post I made was a joke. I thought that it was pretty clear. -

My opinion in a nutshell: ask the top players what they think Economy is important in counter-strike. There's a reason why pro teams aren't questioning why the AWP is in the game, because it's a high risk investment. The "shut up and counter it" is a valid argument, but it's kind of a shame that 9 times out of 10 it's being used by people that have thousands of hours invested in the game and still have much to learn. The higher-end of gold players obviously don't have a problem countering it, but there's a reason why that and the hvr are laughed about when someone's trying to get serious about the game. -

It's straight up just not a well thought out concept. There's a reason high golds have considered it embarrassing to use since the year it was added. The amount of nades you carry is just part of it. -

Just toss low yields in the bin and all is forgiven my guy -
oi @MattScott if we're on the road to deleting things, could you add low yields and the hvr to the list

Have a district specifically for group matchmaking. Let factions oppose their own side for better, faster games. Criminals could opp other crims in the early days of APB. This isn't a radical idea. The people playing this game often dont care about the 'lore' if it means better matchmaking in an 8year old, 500pop game. opinion I've had for years.

Might want to make the game not filled with RNG first.

As a dude that has spent half his time messing around in the music kiosk, nah bud. Better things the devs need to work on It's a piano roll like you'd see in any DAW. Nothing really needs an update.

Do you have friends that play? If not, nah The game has had slight changes to balance the past three years, but they've for the most part been overly-complex approaches that ultimately didnt change much. Games p much the same as you remember.

on one hand the idea of people taking apb seriously enough to call it competitive is genuinely funny to me one the other hand, if you have been on this game with 500+ hours of playtime outside of social and struggle with gold threat, then I genuinely do not think it is a matter of mentality or how seriously you are taking the game. I think there are a lot of golds that fundamentally don't understand the game they are playing. I think elitism in this game has always been a problem, don't get me wrong. There's a lot of younger players that are obsessive about looking good in a game with a humorously low skill ceiling. But I don't think threat has ever been a major factor in that. Honestly Zascha's posts is a large reason why I've often stayed out of serious game debate threads. It's a lot of black-and-white thinking, and theoretical talk that doesn't step foot in actual player behavior. Anyone that remembers Red Bird from the forums knows it. We can talk about "dpi manipulation" and "maximum frames" for a dozen pages but a portion of the posters on this forum will always fundamentally play the game in a totally different way. Game sense and awareness isn't something exclusive to APB. It's basic shooter knowledge. But even a large portion of golds still haven't learned it. To me, the problem with flawed matchmaking in APB has never been about individual skill. It's that you have groups of people in Discord or TS going against soloqueue players or a team of two in larger matches. That's a way bigger discrepancy with no oversight.
