  1. Matt Scott never talked about about headshots. How adding headshots to APB will make it a CSGO clone? do you even think before you write? That would make League of Legends a clone of Dota and Dota a clone of Warcraft 3. Guild Wars 2, Tera, all clones of World of Warcraft and World of Warcraft a clone of Lineage. Saints Row, Sleeping Dogs, Mafia, all clones of GTA. Crysis would be a clone of Far Cry. Doom would be a clone of Duke Nukem. Fortnite would be a clone of PUBG and PUPG would be a clone of Arma 3. Left 4 dead would be a clone of Killing Floor. Call of duty would be a clone of Battlefield. The Evil within would be a clone of Resident Evil 4. The Crew would be a clone of NFS and list goes on and on the whole gaming industry would be cloned, you see how flawed your logic is? If you say APB just because of headshots would somehow become a clone of CSGO then you automatically remove yourself from any serious conversation because you literally make no sense. My "Clone of Counter Strike" was meant figuratively, and not even the point of my argument. Please reread.
  2. Really? If it was a joke, why did so many companies have an interest in purchasing it in 2012? Why did Little Orbit (A company known for producing Licensed games) purchase the rights? If this is your argument, then it's not really well backed up, nor developed. Show me a game where the players DON'T at all make any memes? In fact, quite the contrary, most memes of games I know are inside jokes, just as LilyV3's suicide grenade gif (sorry Lily, it's pretty damn funny) They tend to show more approval or disproval of certain aspects that the game has, and showcases how much support the game receives from its community. Not pertinent to the conversation. What in any way, shape or form does someone potentially hacking have to do with their opinion on a game? Where is your evidence someone has hacked? So what if he has? These rules prevent you from harassing him for it: And if you interpret the rules a certain way: Define reworked, and some might agree. The game does need fixing, but not something to change it.
  3. iirc, it used to be for Devil Dog, the enf contact for anyone who doesn't know, until they moved him... I think...
  4. While I do like the symbols and the e-pene boost, I'm perfectly fine hiding threat, and making everyone's Rank shown, (as a silver emblem of their Rank, or gold w/e I like silver metals more)
  5. Well... I'd say it depends? If someone is griefing a mission intentionally, I could see that being against CoC. Maybe the Great WaterFront Dump Trucking of 2013/4 isn't considered griefing against CoC?
  6. Pretty much everyone has read what you've posted. Everything you've posted is the same jumbled up crap being slew about, bringing elements that need to be fixed, or modified, and using those as justification to fix headshots (spawn system, really?) Spawns have had their system changed, and they need to be modified to accommodate for a better set of spawns. What at all does this have to do with headshots? All this pointless banter is getting nowhere. @BXNNXD has already, and thoroughly, gone through your posts, and countered each and every point you presented. What more would get this going? Absolutely nothing. A quote from MattScott: The parts I bolded felt necessary to bring up, while the red font is what pertains actively to our conversation. MattScott thinks the design of the game perfectly goes hand in hand with having a competitive play. Hell, It was designed for it. Saying that APB should have headshots, and make it "A clone of Counter Strike" would effectively have had him lie through his teeth to the entire $&(*@ community. And with the handling of everything with the game, and GamersFirst, they have proven not to lie, as well as to follow through with what they promise. On top of the competitive play, he did touch on weapon balance, and his own opinions on how our game effectively plays. He further states: "I'd rather make a couple of little adjustments..." If you understand that, it means to NOT entirely revamp the gun, and combat mechanics. So to sadly shoot down your idea, it's not going to happen with current, nor future projects for this game.
  7. Quite the contrary, you can see that "invisible box" it's what the crosshair shows when it turns red.
  8. SSD definetly fixed stuttering a lot... i play on: i5 4690k, gtx 970, 8gb ram, SSD, custom advanced launcher settings and i get 110-120 fps... I also advice you to restart game with every district change... Best just start join straight to district you wanna play on and stay on it Probably should switch my install to my SSD ;-;
  9. -We've established hit reg? you got to be kidding me? go up top watch the videos. The hit reg we have now is a complete joke. You don't even have hit the actual player you can shot close to him and it will register as a shot. I did not say there could be changes with hit reg... I said that we've established that as a problem you deem worthy of implementing a change, specifically headshots. Now tell me, how will headshots fix hit reg? it's just another hit box. If you have watched the video I posted, at around the 3 minute mark, or after ( I don't quite remember ), Issmir states that headshots are not a thing in APB. There is only 1 hitbox. 1 hitbox to rule them all. Not only is there 1 hitbox, but it also isn't the size of your character. The characters all fit inside this hitbox, so that way, if you have a tiny girl character, as thin as a twig, you have the same hitbox as your afro wearing supa fat enforcer. They're all the same. If you created a game where you can customize a character drastically with their height, weight, etc. then if the hitbox was only the character's geometry, you would see everyone either picking a character that is tiny, or tall characters complaining that they're at a disadvantage. The hitbox does NOT exceed the character so much that you can be shot from behind a dumpster. Every bit of cover in the game allows you to hide behind it from at least one angle. If you see partial cover, it will affect everyone.
  10. The guns, the hit reg, the spawns, the matchmaking, everything needs to be reworked. How do guns need to be reworked? The guns in the game work perfectly fine, and may need fine tuning, not drastic changes. -We've established hit reg Spawns have nothing to do with headshots Matchmaking has nothing to do with headshots. If you've ever played a flight sim, racing or simulation games, you should understand that it is much much better to fine tune than to change everything, or radically make a change that will affect "everything else"
  11. Headshots would another reason to rework combat a long with the rest of the games problems. Why these two things aren't the same? Because combat is a non-issue. There's no problem with combat. If you say hit reg, that's the hitboxes, and DUN DUN DUN, registering hits. Where do I see combat in here? Not at all.
  12. Yeah... sorry you had to see this. @23k You state this is to fix hitreg. Ok Let's fix hit reg. (which if you don't know means Hit Registering) What does fixing hit reg have to do with implementing headshots. I don't know about you, but programmers, especially game developers don't want to radically change their game 10+ years in the making. If they want to drastically change it, they make something new. You blabber on about how this will fix the game. But, reworking a system creates new bugs, and requires fixing still. Hit boxes are all one size. Regardless of your character's size. Everyone's equal. A shot anywhere in the hitbox will do the same amount of damage. Every time. Foot, Finger, Head, etc. If you're a new player, you learn the game. Figure out how it works. If you want to get better, you google it, (or bing, whatever your fetish is) play, and learn. You ask other players, you figure it out. You don't make the game feel more like how YOU want it to feel, you adapt. There's a great video out there on getting better at APB, you should take a watch. (Pre score-based threat) self described moderate player has even understood the game better. The thing about playing games, you don't go around asking for things to change because you think they suck. The community needs to debate, and (i guess) vote. You don't "spice" gameplay up because you think it'd be "lit 420 blaze it 180 noscope af." Oh alright, when i show the true state of apb now you want the thread to be locked? typical b**** s***... True state? What true state of APB? You showed nothing except that there are a majority of people who disagree with what, and how, you want a "feature" implemented.
  13. I agree, that is a very big problem, i see a lot of new players, even though i play in silver districts, but they don't seem to stick around much. I personally blame the matchmaking system, the dethreat exploit and the lack of a good tutorial for that. If you ask me, i'd consider putting a video tutorial explainig the game and maybe the individual weapon's mechanics (kind of like league does with the champion spoilers) to make it easier to understand. Not only that, but some guiding popups for new accounts. Sure they're annoying to veteran players, but they'd certainly help new players find everything much easier.
  14. I dislike fc, soooo never really ended up bothering me. I'm playing from the middle of the country, and get ~7-8ms on a nice day, with no DDOS and mitigation. Considering I used to play Colby, it never really was a big difference, I think I had what... 25-30ms tops... usually less.
  15. Look @23k Nothing here is being accomplished. You posted a suggestion to the Social Subforum - should give you a hint of the players and people that are going to respond. More than an overwhelming majority of informed, well-known, and not-known players have stated that this will push the train that is APB off the rails. We have all given evidence, and reasoning countering your arguments for your suggestions. Your counter arguments have been nothing but of "Well... same applies to you." You're digging your heels in the dirt and not budging. This is a game that thousands of people love, and have become accustom to. The lack of a headshot capability has been one of the best features that distinguish this great game from others. We're a tiny pearl among a sea sand. There is no need to make this game emulate other shooters. Let it stand out on it's own. The entire game, literally everything in it, from cars, guns, and missions will be affected by this. You want to improve the game, or "spice up the gameplay"? -Suggest new mission(s) type(s). -New vehicle(s)/Vehicle kits -Give us a new design for a district. -How about a new game mode? You think that changing this 1 thing will make it better, but you fail to realize how much work it will take to get everything to balance out. Not only will things be chaotic, but once things are ironed out, the game isn't going to play at all like it was designed to. It's not going to be APB, or APB: Reloaded. Might as well call it Grand Theft Auto Clone: Reloaded.
  16. Hopefully, with the implementation of cross district matchmaking, we won't need to manually select our districts. Join friends, group members, clan members, or whichever district the game puts you in. Imagine, a Utopia APB... with chaos and destruction of course...
  17. I stopped reading after the first two lines... Before you try to criticize my post, I'll just leave this here: If you're old enough, you've learned about logical fallacies. So, to discredit your argument, you yourself formed with the subset of logical fallacies I'm about to point out. You attacked the person not the argument. Kempington did not insult you, nor do anything more than provide reasoning, and flaws with your idea. You're appealing to emotions, not logic. Here you decide to instead use buzz words as Bxnnxd and Kempington have pointed out. These do not prove your idea to be of any value, nor benefit to the game. You're then re-appealing to emotions by a circular logic. The game requires more skill, thus it will have higher rewards, thus requiring more skill. There's no end to that circle is there? On top of that, you probably could make your posts more legible, and easier to read for anyone who actually wishes to understand the suggestion you've made. (which, is also breaking a forum rule by posting a suggestion to the social subform.) Which, if I were to use the same reasoning in a previous post you made: "If so, anything you say holds no real value."
  18. Most of what I have to say has already been stated by @BXNNXD I tried to post earlier, but forums went patootie... so I cmd+c, and will cmd+v it here: edit: if the non-color matched portions hurt your sensitive eyes, lmk, I'll try to color code it again. </edit> This is purely an opinion, not a fact. Do not say it as if it is a fact. Skill is not measured as a percentage. If you met two exactly equally skilled opponents.... where is the issue? The current system has equally skilled players where chance doesn't play a role in the game. Once again, you're failing to provide a reason to change the core mechanics of the game. The problem isn't that guns would be more powerful than others. The game's entire core systems rely on the single hitbox. Your gun's ttk, the stk, literally anything combat wise. It's part of why APB requires a high amount of team play and skill, there are no one hit kills (aside from exploding cars, the concussion grenade, and the two explosive weapons) Anything that uses a "bullet" doesn't kill in 1 hit. Sure players can adapt to a change, but is that change worth it? At all? If you're playing with other players, and you're in a sniper competition. Your body is exposed before your gun. For you and the other player to even begin to fight, you have to be able to shoot each other. If it's just 1 hit kills, these battles will not happen, or people will intentionally stay away. Mission stages aren't long, and take place on a huge (let's be honest, not GTA huge, but big enough) map. CS:GO is a small map, with 10 players. There's no outside interference, there's no vehicles. Anything that increases the time to take an objective, or play an objective would hurt the game. The missions are all spaced out, and designed with exact objectives and items in mind. CS:GO has a first person camera. you can't physically watch your back. APB does. CS:GO is NOT APB. They are not the same thing, and should not try to be the same thing. While, yes team work should play a very important role, that doesn't happen with randoms, district chat distractions, or really at all in non-premade groups in a 40v40 district. It's possible to 1v1 a mission in APB, thanks to the Third Person Camera, you're able to see all points around you, unlike CS:GO. However, CS:GO is a very different game, why you people want to make APB resemble it is beyond me. Doesn't this apply to your situation where the two equally skilled players, 1 gets the kill, the other just dies? It's the same thing... Don't be using a better than thou mentatility with @BXNNXD or anyone else for that matter. We're equals here. Regardless of crime. Just because someone has hacked in the past, or has broken a rule, doesn't mean they have no voice, reason, intelligence, or say in the matter? If a criminal gets out of prison after serving his time, does he get no say what happens in his life anymore? Does he not have any intelligence? Sure he might not, but he also might have learned, and grown from his actions in the past...
  19. Name a valid argument to implement headshots in the game. You're just scared of the wonderfully intricate, and 10 years in the making system. It works both ways mate.
  20. Literally the entire game, balancing, meta, and design is based off of the character's single hitbox. No. Do. Not. Bring. Headshots. To. This. Game. If you really think this is a good suggestion, then please, go play the game, and actually learn the mechanics before you want to change them. The reason the other player would kill you, since they shot first, but you didn't kill them is because of the way guns work in the game. Think of a laser. When this laser hits you, you die. But, the laser's button is the trigger. If they shoot you with the laser first, and you die, your laser doesn't count.
  21. OoooooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooo I remember Calculus... never again.... never... then I took Calculus Based Physics.... don't even need it for a CS Major, maybe a little with Djikstra's Algorithm, but that really just requires a table, some time, and logic.
