Judging by my join date I must be a platinum by now

They should hire Buddhist, Muslim and Jewish employees so that no religious holiday can put such a big hold on all services.

An honest discussion about APB
trashpanda replied to EerieEric's topic in General Discussion Archive
Perhaps you can try one of those services that re-route your connection to the shortest one? Normally they don't help much but if the issue is caused by the long route your ISP gives you it could be quite beneficial -
are bronzes allowed to play yet?
trashpanda replied to postalgril's topic in General Discussion Archive
So I'm supposed to inhumanly destroy bronzes and trainees? I just didn't want them to have a bad time because of the broken matchmaking. I guess you're suggesting to wreck new players and make them hate the game, helping the game lose more population. It was never my intention to dethreat. -

trashpanda replied to postalgril's topic in General Discussion Archive
To be fair, having been a gold for a really long time, I've been intentionally letting bronzes and trainees win, just to let them enjoy the game. I see how unfair it is for bronzes and trainees to get matched against golds, so I let them have a taste of the fun. I fell down to silver a few times because of that, but my intention wasn't to lower my threat level. Now, do I need to be punished for that? I think it was a friendly act of kindness, not a toxic behaviour. Also: There are also players who are called for backup at the last minute, to a match that is already lost. How would you even know how they've lost their threat level? -
In that case, my bad, I must've misunderstood

Love the random world events, the others are great too but world events would certainly add a lot more activity for players in the game!

You do realize that VIP's are displayed to the enemy as well, right?

I've started experiencing much higher resource usage by APB since the last update, and I know it's not just on my end as a friend of mine has the same issue. He could get 50 fps on high whereas he now gets ~40 on low settings with major fps drops. I see my GPU, CPU and memory usage go up to 70% and power usage to "Very high", and I have an i7 6700k, a GTX 1070 and 16 gigs of RAM. Is this related to the event being resource heavy? Or perhaps a server-sided issue? PS: Who can I contact regarding this issue? @Lixil

This would indeed be nice, and allow new players to get a hang of the game before jumping into action. A better version of tutorial districts.
-
Yes please. Some players don't have the luxury of getting online every day, so it would be nice to be able to keep your items up even if you're not active during that day. Maybe it could be balanced with higher tax, the longer the sale stays up.
-
While this isn't a great suggestion in the long run, it would make it easier for players to have fun with the current player count. Perhaps a separate category of districts titled "Mayhem" or whatever, so that players an actually get matched without having to wait 5-10 minutes every time.

About the Chinese player/developer thing
trashpanda replied to trashpanda's topic in General Discussion Archive
It is a possibility though! They could use their larger budget ( no idea if they do have a larger budget than LO, but it's likely ) to develop something bigger, and bring it to EU/NA. But yes, it would be awkward as heck haha. -

I see. Let's hope LO stays in play and not be replaced by a Chinese version of APB. -
San Paro is divided between the Enforcers and Criminals, and with the intro videos while booting up the game, we can see total chaos all around the city. I believe it would be much more entertaining, visually pleasing and realistically appropriate if the streets were less crowded, with civilian cars damaged, graffiti on the walls and garbage laying around, some destroyed cars around the roads, etc. Another good addition would be to NPC actions. As it is now, NPCs will not react to gunshots after they are removed from cars. They will drive their same old route even after a grenade has gone off near their car. It would be much better if they tried to get away as fast as possible with their cars already partially destroyed. The NPCs could be more appropriately dressed, since in a city torn apart by a war between criminals and enforcers, dressing nice would not be much of a concern. Obviously this would come much later, at least after the engine update and everything related to it. This is only my opinion and I hope you can give constructive criticism.

About the Chinese player/developer thing

My sincerest apologies, I must have missed that topic. Thank you very much. It appears that it is actually good news considering Little Orbit has gained financial stability from this sale, and will be able to work on the game. Again, my apologies for not seeing the related forum topic. One additional question though: "The CEO of Unit Game said, “For years, I have been an avid player and fan inside the immersive world of APB. The gameplay, stories, and customization system still remains unique today. We are looking forward to developing a new experience for mobile and PC.” So they will not just release a mobile game, but a PC game as well? -
Is there going to be a change of ownership of APB? There haven't been many updates from the dev team lately, are we going to be updated on what's going on? I personally would hate it if APB was handed over to the Chinese. That would only mean milking the players for money, as well as flooding the game with Chinese players (I mean no offense by that, but Chinese players love P2W which sucks for us). I honestly hope Little Orbit keeps the game and keeps working on it, we were so close to finally getting the engine update and the network migration. I love this game and practically spent half of my teens playing it. I would hate to see it die in this way. Edit: Why is everyone constantly disliking? I already said I misunderstood and apologized, I just don't see the reason why you'd dislike it lol.

I keep having APB dreams
trashpanda replied to NotZombieBiscuit's topic in General Discussion Archive
I too have had, not one, but several dreams of APB Reloaded, whether it be doing missions, customizing weapons, driving around.. We all belong in a mental ward. -
It'd be funny as hell if the civi drivers were given GTA like AI, where the slightest thing causes them to freak out and run down a crowd waiting to cross the road. Well they don’t even react to 50 cal rifles pointed at their faces so it needs a change lol

REWARDS FOR THE COMMUNITY'S PATIENCE
trashpanda replied to ultim8killer's topic in General Discussion Archive
Yes that is sufficiently constructive. Though we never suggested playtime rewards, what was suggested was log-in rewards, and rewards for various tasks completed, not rewarding afk-ers. I do agree that log-in rewards are not exactly given upon accomplishments, but it would bring more players online, as well as give them the encouragement to play since bigger rewards will be awaiting them as they complete tasks. And most of those that come online for the login rewards will probably stay, thinking “well, I logged in, might as well play for a bit”. That’s my opinion though, and you’re more than welcome to oppose and provide reasons why/better ideas. -
REWARDS FOR THE COMMUNITY'S PATIENCE
trashpanda replied to ultim8killer's topic in General Discussion Archive
I do not agree that we’re entitled by any means. But it was done before and it was received well, as far as I remember. It shouldn’t be for ‘our patience’ but rather something to keep both new and existing players interested in the game. Whether it be 3 day armas weapon trials, Joker Mystery Boxes or JT, it would be received well. Obviously bigger rewards would require longer participation so idk 25 joker tickets and yellow mods would probably be sufficient for just logging in. -
I’m not arguing with anyone nor am I downvoting any posts Just wanted to state my opinion and I guess I was enlightened on that ‘hidden’ ELO thing. But yeah, my suggestion never was simply adding a platinum threat, I also (tried to) suggest a complete overhaul of the whole system. Anyway, thank you all for your replies

Thanks for your constructive contribution -
I wouldn’t cast it aside so easily, I personally received spams of cheat websites and the guy that was spamming it was in the opposition the next mission. He was throwing grenades onto my precise location over the friggin building. I have recordings of it, but yeah, not every thread of this sort is the usual “boo hoo he plays better than me, cheeturr” thread. Also, I don’t see why a player with thousands of hours would feel the need to get a complete new account, since you claim the ones with such incredible skills all have playtime advantages.
-
Well that doesn’t change the fact that I still get matched with golds that will tear me up even though I’m a gold myself. And no, that’s not because of the low player count, it has always been that way. So I don’t know what this magical ‘hidden’ ELO of yours is exactly, but it doesn’t work as intended even if it exists.
