What is SWORD? SWORD - Special Weapons and Ordnance Response Division - is a new clan based on teamwork, fun and a non-competitive mindset. The goal is to have a place for anyone to have someone to play with, regardless of ability. There is no RP but if individuals want to, then of course go ahead. Leadership Leader: Elleanor Other leadership positions will be filled as of when. Looking to Join? Send a PM or ingame mail to Elleanor (Eileanor) and you'll be in ASAP. Once membership increases, a Discord server will be created to allow instant communication prior to joining as well as between members. I appreciate your time.

Constant Crashing - 3440x1440 Windowed
Thornecroft replied to Thornecroft's topic in Bugs and Tech Issues
Nope, just APB. I just don't understand why it's all of a sudden, after months/years of being fine. But yeah, might just not play much if at all, depending on the next update my Matt Scott on their progress. -
R5 3600 & RTX 2080S 3440x1440 monitor playing windowed 1920x1080. Not using Advanced Launcher. Multiple times a day, nearly always on a spawn screen the game crashes and opens up the crash report box. Audio bugs out, repeating the bleeping and the game window (frozen) will also stick around until manually closed. This only started happening since doing a fresh reinstall a few days ago, so not sure how it could be caused.

And here I am thinking Satchel is the best. Nothing beats blowing up a car full of people dead-set on running you over. Half-sarcastic, it's fun but Epinephrine is definitely the best.

Thank you for updating us, it means a lot rather than not hearing anything.

Honest opinions - When the engine update dropping?
Thornecroft replied to karmafull's topic in General Discussion Archive
The other problem is that even after the engine update, they'll still have to add new content and start advertising to get rid of the negative reputation and draw old players back. All the engine update does it make it a lot easier to add new content, nothing much will actually change. -
Little Orbit. When people intentionally (or accidentally) drift there car and exit, they used to dsync for a second or two until everything caught up. You could shoot where you saw them and it would still translate to where they actually were, then you'd have to re-aim after it fixes. This was largely playable. However, recently it's been lasting upwards of 5 seconds, sometimes much longer. Having to hit something further away than it is, whilst your opponent has no such disadvantage, for that long is just wrong and unplayable when it happens. You can see them behind their own car, and think that you therefore can't hit them, when in fact you can, but you can't see their body, meanwhile they can see you perfectly because they're somewhere else. Are you aware of this issue? Do you have plans to fix it? Is it even easily fixed, or is this something that will plague the game for a long time? I sincerely hope you look into this as it isn't exactly a minor issue, or even a rare one.

So I found this article: https://techraptor.net/gaming/news/descendent-studios-scores-big-win-in-descent-lawsuit It states that LO filed a lawsuit (in 2019) against another developer (Descendent Studios), which ended a few days ago, resulting in LO now having sole responsibility to develop the belated game...which they haven't done since November 2020. "The judge also pointed out that Little Orbit took several months [after November] to demand the game assets from Descendent Studios, a move that highlighted its apparent unwillingness to actually develop the game." However, whether they have the ability to develop another game at the same time as APB is not the question. "Finally, Descendent Studios raised a concern that Little Orbit lacked the necessary funds to actually pay them. The judge agreed with this assessment". They might not be able to afford it. Matt Scott. Why, when APB is already in the state its in, did you think you could develop another game alongside this? If you focused on APB from the start, and got it to a good state, then you could reasonably work on another project.

Just as it says. Looking for either a clan or a community that's relatively active so grouping isn't rare.

I know someone that is very talented, did a very good symbol for me. If you give me your Discord tag, I'll pass it on to him, if you want?

1) Servers are still pretty shit 2) At least in Gold districts, there is enough population to get constant matches. 3) I haven't tried it, but even before the buff/revert it was usable so I imagine it's perfectly usable for an average player. 4) Yes, alongside the Pioneer. 5) Ha. Re-install, play a few matches.

If you want to stream, do it because you find it enjoyable. So what if you don't get 50 viewers? If you're playing, stream it if you want, what's the worst thing that happens? You get 0 viewers...like if you didn't stream?

The most toxic behaviour you have seen in apb?
Thornecroft replied to OCrazyGuyO's topic in General Discussion Archive
Do the forums count? If so, the most toxic behaviour I've seen is the stirring up of discussions over the worst of the worst who play the game and their foul behaviour. I'd much rather people focus on the good. Focus on the positive changes and the long-term improvements. -
Anyone know who has the most total kills in APB?
Thornecroft replied to owzzy's topic in General Discussion Archive
I'm nether a "hater" or a child. I will however dislike purely because you just can't stand someone wanting to know something regardless of reason. It serves no purpose and so no one is allowed to ask? It's not about winning anything, it's mere curiosity. -
I'd normally choose the Whisper, however the Trouble Maker is quite strong as well. I'd suggest trialling them if you can to get a feel for their playstyle and in what situations they're weak/strong.

Why new engine performance is so poor?
Thornecroft replied to Resine's topic in General Discussion Archive
With a Ryzen 5 3600 and a 2080 Super in Fightclub, I was still getting pretty poor performance. Vsync off and smooth framerate turned off, I'd still get 60-80 fps. Normally over 100fps. Naturally this is fine for this stage in the process, however it's not like OP isn't true in what he is saying. -
Just this. With so many games that have guns that do varied damage depending which part of the body you hit, it's nice to have a game that focuses purely on hitting the target. No punish for hitting feet when getting shot in the head. It's non-meta and suits the game's style more than the suggested change. Especially with how so many bits of cover still reveal a small portion of your hitbox, namely the "head" area. If headshots were a thing, you'd get severely punished for choosing said cover. In the current system, the opponent would have to aim consistently and hit multiple times to kill you.

Golds still typically leave if they have silvers on their team pre-opposition. However, the insulting is almost non-existent. At least from my experience.

Why the contacts dont buy all items
Thornecroft replied to RCooper's topic in General Discussion Archive
Don't forget that you can't sell items bought on the ingame marketplace to contacts. -
Nope, but it's something I've been hoping they'd do after the engine upgrade. I can't remember which game it was, but there's a company that does a poll for every patch, which they do often if just to fix a couple of bugs. It connects the playerbase to the developers and also lets the devs know what the company wants, and how well received changes were. Let's face it, the forums don't speak for the playerbase, and it tends to be the disgruntled that comment on posts. If they encourage said polls to be completed, for the benefit of the players, we might see better changes and things added/changed that LO had no idea about.
