  1. Shouldn't this be in suggestions? Also I don't think capes would work in the current version of the game's engine as there are physics limitations. There's no way for a cape to flow on the current version of the game, they would be a solid piece of material. This is something that would need to be implemented after the engine is upgraded. Would be cool though if it was possible. It's the same with your light up sneakers thread. I'm not sure it would work with the current lighting system that the engine has, it doesn't really do dynamic lighting, if it did we could have working police lights. Since we have glow in the dark skins they could glow I guess?

    Clan Shop UI

This might not be such a big deal after trading comes in but I think it would be super cool if we had a way for clan players to buy clan clothing, symbols and vehicles from their clan menu. What I'm proposing is that clans have inventory slots in which leaders and officers can transfer vehicles, symbols and non-armas clothing into. These would appear on a clan shop page in the clan menu and clan members could buy these items for the standard duplication fee for that item. This would make distributing clan vehicles, symbols and clothing so much easier and would even mean that members could get their hands on the items while the leader (or whoever makes these items) is offline. It's mostly a quality of life thing but it would make running a clan much easier for leaders/officers. I'll try to mock up a screenshot later to give everyone a better idea of what's in my head it's fairly simple design. A new tab on the clan page with a grid on the page with a preview thumbnail and a Buy or Duplicate button underneath it. Maybe the magnifying glass button next to it to bring up the standard full preview window? Not sure if the price should be displayed under the thumbnail or in the duplication confrimation text window? Maybe both? But yeah, I'm sure there are other clan leaders out there that feel my pain, wouldn't it be nice if something like this was added to the game? In general I'd be all for anything that expands clans further and makes clan easier to manage but this is something that has been in my head for years while playing this game and I figured that I'd put it up on the suggestions forum now as it might have more chance of making it into the game now that we have developers that seem to want to actually develop the game.
  3. I think all the /report (player name) command really needs is a (reason) field after the player name. I know this command was mostly just associated with fairfight but I assume these reports go to GMs too? If GMs have monitoring tools like the ability to check chat logs (Which I think they do? Wouldn't be hard to implement at least.) at least this way they could deal with any cases of harassment and such while they are on duty, then and there?
  4. I believe the problem with trench coats were that because the engine is old there are physics limitations. Trench coats could never flow properly on the current engine which made them look a bit odd when they used to be in the game. (I think some NPCs still wear them?) I believe Sofia's coat is actually graphed to her model and her turn around animation is the only reason the coat moves like it does. Because of these limitations trench coats would look like one solid mass, it would probably clip with other clothing and maybe even the player model when moving around. Maybe we'll get more fancy clothing options when the engine upgrade is released and better physics are possible. Flowing clothing would be pretty great but as it stands it's not really possible at the moment. Hopefully one day?
  5. There's no reason why a colour blind mode shouldn't be implemented into the game. On top of that it's just good business, making the game more accessible to more people is a win for everyone. I hope that now APB has fresh developers these kinds of problems will be made more of a priority. It's great that Matt has recognized this issue and even let us know that it's going to be worked on. Here's hoping you get your colour blind mode soon.
  6. I feel like the cooldown would be fine if it matched the field supplier one. I agree with your second point, it should only start the healing or increase the speed of the healing if you are in cover and not taking damage. I guess it could be used by enemies but maybe if it wasn't that would be an advantage over using the sprays? I mean, it's not like enemies can use your field supplier. I guess it would depend on how you deploy the medkit? But yeah, it should be well balanced obviously, just figured it would be nice to have more supportive orange mods. I mean I guess it would make defense positions more fortified but I figured it would be good to use while attacking too. For example, using it when you're low after you and your team push up to new cover just before a final push. I mean I don't think everyone on a team would use it anyway, there will still be some ammo resupplies and blowtorches out there and such. I don't think the healing should stack, that would make it a bit op. Maybe it should only speed up healing time or maybe just instantly start the healing process? Not sure which would be better. I mean it would make sense that you would need to not be taking damage to heal. So it would only benefit those in cover? It has to be a more supportive mod. Also I think more people would use other orange mods if they were more viable, not making new mods overused. For instance, if the spotter mod's cool down was a bit shorter so that you could use it a bit more often to support the team a bit more.
  7. Thank you for that insightful contribution to the discussion.
  8. Yeah, I'm in full support of this! I'd love to use my normal weapon skins on my legendary weapons. Mostly my True Ogre and Nano having them in the Urban camo would be awesome, then they could match my uniform colours. At the very least it would be nice to have a plain version/skin for each legendary. But yeah, I totally get your point, they can be expensive to acquire, you should totally be able to use your regular skins on them. I don't think this would be too hard to implement either.
  9. True, maybe it wouldn't be so bad if you could choose what consumable you get at the end of a match or maybe you could buy the consumables you want from the Joker Store for Joker Tickets? I just think having an orange character mod with an extended duration or wider range for healing would be pretty interesting and cool. I think we need more orange character mods in general. They are right up there with more blue mods for vehicles. It would just shake up the gameplay a bit and get everyone using other mods other the same one or two that are deemed useful. It would definitely be a good thing in any case. More choice, more stratagies and would give players more ways to play.
  10. It's not as simple as just adding the new levels though, to add these they need new contacts for you to level up and unlocks for them to reward you with. It's a bigger task than just thorwing in more levels. I have no doubt that they will go into the game eventually but things need to be fixed and the engine needs upgrading before new content is released.
  11. This would be a pretty massive change to the weapons system, a lot of the models would need reworking, maybe even being made modular to accommodate the attachments which would also need to be modeled. Then there are the heaps of coding that would need to go into reworking the current weapon system and UI to make this work. It's a nice idea but I think it is very far off. It would be little unrealistic to think that this would be implemented any time within the next few years. There is so much that needs fixing in general not to mention new content and the new engine release/fixes that needs to happen before most stuff like this can even be created.
  12. It is a criminal offense in most countries. In America it falls under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, pretty sure we have a Computer Misuse Act here in the UK if I remember rightly and there are similar Laws all over the EU. If nothing else, I imagine it probably falls under harassment laws too. The problem is that it is often very hard to track down the attackers and DDoS attacks don't seem to be taken very seriously by the authorities. (Not that it is really their fault as they probably don't have the resources in order to investigate these attacks.) Also the punishment for committing DDoS attacks is often just a fine or minimum jail time unless the incident is as serious as being a government target. It just seems like something that is destined to continue happening as there just isn’t ways to catch those who do it. Most companies just plan to mitigate attacks but like I said this can be expensive.
  13. Interesting. Very strange I could have sworn that it was being caused by putting up the symbol on a display point. I didn't directly test it at the time but when I had used the display point and I returned to the banner it was all blurry. I didn't have them right next to each other when I noticed it though, perhaps it's distance or time causing it to go blurry? Thank you for taking the time to test it anyway, I'm at work at the moment and just remembered that I had meant to report this. My game settings are all up high so I don't think it would be my quality settings? The banner looked fine and visible when I placed it and was fine until I had returned to it later after using the display point. Very odd. I'll give it a go when I get home tonight and will see if I can recreate the problem unless you feel like having another stab at it in the meantime? But yeah, very weird. Thanks again for testing my theory, even if it did turn out to be incorrect. EDIT 02/07/2018: I have been playing for most of the weekend and the bug never happened again, really weird. The server was a little laggy the night that the bug did occur, maybe this caused the issue? I guess this can either be closed or it can be left open and I'll post screenshots if it ever happens again. Weird. Thanks again for helping me test this @Kevkof
  14. Had a neat idea while chatting about the origins of my username in district chat a few days ago. I enjoy playing support in a lot of various video games and something that feels like it is missing from this game is the ability to heal teammates. I realize that we have medsprays that do heal players that are around you when you use them but what if we had an orange character mod that dropped down a medkit which would decrease recovery time in a radius around you that lasted for a few seconds? Maybe they could be used like the ammobox with the player being stuck in an animation while the teammates around them received the buff or perhaps it could drop down like the consumable ammo crate with a bar that drains till it's out of bandages. I just think it would be cool to have more character mods and on top of this it would make for interesting strategies when pushing or defending objectives. Just a small recovery buff for a couple of seconds, standard orange mod cool down but something with a bit of a bigger radius/lifetime over the standard medsprays. I'm sure this has probably been suggested before so what do you guys think would be the best way to implement a supportive heal mod? Let's brainstorm!
  15. A minor bug but one I wanted to put up on here none the less as I noticed it a few days ago. When using the display banner the image on the banner goes blurry if you put your spray up on a public display point. I'll post screenshots later when I'm at my computer again but I'm pretty sure using a public display point while having a banner down is what is causing the bug. You used to be able to have both without any problems which I used to take advantage of for recruiting. Like I said, a minor bug in the scope of things but it would be nice to get it fixed at some point.
  16. Well, what can I say, there are a lot of crappy people out there that just want to ruin the fun of others. It isn't exactly hard to do and it's something that is hard to stop so people will always DDoS for their own twisted personal sense of justice. But yeah, it's not like it is the same people DDoSing both games. Also I heard that Classic Runescape is shutting down soon? Maybe it's because of that?
  17. It's probably not the servers, I think this problem would likely persist on even the most highly speced servers after a while. I'd imagine this is a software issue as it only just started happening recently. There is probably a memory leak in the server software which is maxing the server resources causing the crashes. It could even be something to do with the recent addition of BattlEye, an unexpected additional load on player connections for example. Disconnections and crashing could be caused by any number of problems but such a wide scale problem wouldn't just be getting ignored. I'm sure they are probably trying to figure out what it causing it but it's not an easy task and it is going to take time to fix. Maybe just be patient and wait for news? Even if it is DDoS attacks, these aren't exactly easy to narrow down and stop either. High quality DDoS protection can be expensive too, maybe the game isn't doing well enough to warrant the expense. It's a difficult situation in that regard. Either way I'm sure the problem is being worked on. It's not in the interests of Little Orbit to have downtime, solving problems like this would definitely be the highest priority. They can't make money if the game is offline.
  18. Yeah, it's nice to be back even though I didn't do anything wrong, still have no idea what caused the ban in the first place, I'm really not the best player and I stream most time I play but yeah, back now so it's basically business as usual. Bronze or Silver, wherever has space really. Though we get more recruits out of the Bronze District and the matchmaking is normally better as it is where all the Silver players play but I've had one or two decent games against gold players recently too so I think it's all coming back to me.
  19. Shotguns are tricky to get used to. You have to use cover to push up and to get closer to opponents that are using longer range weapons. Flank around your enemy, sneak up to them and take them by surprise. Taking cover behind corners and waiting for opposition to come to you is another tactic. Just be smart really, you need to get close so duck in and out of cars and walls till you are close enough to get the kill. Don’t aim down the sights with shotguns as there isn’t really a need, you can hipfire pretty accurately.
  20. I don’t think a problem as wide scale as disconnects and crashing is being ignored. They are probably working on the problem but haven’t narrowed down the problem and thus don’t have any information to share. These kinds of issues could be caused by any number of problems and trying to figure out what the route of the problem is can take time. Like I said, be patient, I’m sure Little Orbit will update us when they actually have something to share.
  21. Give them a chance my friend. It’s only been little over a month? Things do seems to be changing for the better but there is a lot of work to be done. It isn’t going to all happen instantly overnight. At least they have shown that they understand what needs fixing and are keeping the communication up. I’ve been a bit sceptical too, Little Orbit want to overhaul a lot of major systems, deliver the engine upgrade and fix stability issues but all of these things are easy to say and are harder challenges to actually conquer. They have their work cut out for them but they seem to know which direction they need to be heading in and they are keeping in contact with the community which is a really nice change from how things used to be. I’m still in the “I’ll believe it when I see it” camp but saying that I’m willing to wait and see with the hopes that this game has a much brighter future with Little Orbit at the helm. Time will tell. Try to be patient and try to enjoy the game for what it currently is.
  22. While this would actually solve the problem it seems like a change like this would be a long term change. Wouldn’t a queue system be simple to implement to ease the problem for the time being? Personally I only try to join a populated district when the alternatives are empty meaning I wouldn’t get opposition. The only other option is to join a district at a higher threat level and be destroyed by higher skilled players which isn’t exactly fun. I understand that matchmaking is the actual cause of the issue here but as it would require the new engine to be able to fix (which I imagine is still a way off yet) wouldn’t a temporary fix be a good idea for the time being?
  23. Thanks for letting me know, that's weird, I haven't had that problem and I use it myself. There's definitely nothing wrong with our site. I imagine someone has just falsely reported it or something. I'll look into it anyway.
