  1. Who cares about the social logistics of threat? What happens if you lose? You lose threat. If you win? You gain threat. That's just how it is, no elitism or anything. That's what the game defines for us. This thread should be locked.

  3. Not sure why you banned all High Velos, Yukon and complain OCA is OP, yet you didn't ban Ogre or modded PMG's. Hmmm. In my opinion, a tournament is only worth having if the game is played as it's intended, MAYBE with some light restrictions like no weapon-class stacking. Edit: Also, am I missing something, why are people asking to ban OSCAR? It's worse than NTEC and Obeya for ranged fights. And for CQC, SMGs and shotguns crush it. That strange in-between zone that the Raptor likes to sit around is about the best range for the OSCAR. Extra confused why people think it should be banned.

  8. That example was in reference to if the suggested threat system was being used. A rank 40 with max threat in THAT system (as I said) is a lot more eyebrow-raising than a rank 40 being gold currently. Like I said, it would probably help to determine if a player was using assistance or not, and GM's could check their statistics and gameplay on-the-fly if they see a lowbie with like 14 - 15 threat rating. Or just around that threat in general at any level. You have to admit that it's much more useful than this dated 3-tier system.
  9. Something like this is a good idea, maybe not re-implementing this exact idea, though. As is stands there IS a bit too much skill variation in the silver and gold threats. One guy which hasn't been silver in a year straight might still get molly whopped by a top gold. Whereas with more varied threats like this suggestion, that top gold would be far outranking the other guy and can visibly be seen as better. It might also help to distinguish hackers - A rank 40 with max threat in a system like this would send warning flags all over. Edit: Making the max threat in this system function as Prestige/Notoriety 5 does now would balance out that mechanic as well, meaning you would never attain bounty status during a mission, only when threat is applied (at the end), and could make for some fun, protracted fights between missions quite rarely (which is how P/N5 should be in the first place)
  10. There are two types of jump-shooting: Mid-air, and Touch-down. A mid-air jump-shot is exactly what it sounds like. A touch-down jump-shot is where you shoot during the bloom tightening as your feet touch the ground, however it takes more time to get off that more accurate shot. The bonus to these techniques is that you retain sprinting speed while being able to shoot still. That can make the difference in SOME situations, however your flight path is predictable and are easily killed.
  11. Yeah, obviously not EVERY time it's a lose if they run with obj. However, in TDM missions it is especially hard to catch them because they don't have cargo slowing them down at all. It's quite easy to catch a heavy obj in the trunk of a Pioneer for example, but in TDM if it's a Vegas or something quick with a clear trunk, you're not winning. Unless an NPC car swerves in front of them and they crash into a phone booth.
  12. Except the only thing to counter it is with car surfer ALIG with kev 3/flak, or possibly rocket. You can also cut people off using the map, but there's no way you can argue that it's fair for the team one kill behind to have to catch up by 500 meters because they just respawned. It's incredibly infuriating and is in the favor of the fleeing party.

  15. 6/10, really dislike that indie vocal style, however the instrumental is fairly good.
  16. Reflex really doesn't make jack shit of a difference on the OSCAR. I prefer either no orange mod, or HS1. In case anyone was curious about that. Edit: For players with 50+ ping, CJ3 on the OSCAR makes it easier for a client-side burst, aka visible to you, but ammo counter doesn't change and no one gets hurt. CJ in general is literal trash for the OSCAR for this reason.
  17. Yeah, I don't know if the cooldowns are the main issue here, more of the principle that it is put behind a paywall to begin with, like Hyenard said. I don't think it being 2, 4, or even if it was 6 minutes makes a drastic difference in who wins missions, even including nitro and torch.

  19. Yeah, that's true, those guns can "cheese" people down, but their time-to-kill suffers from their ease-of-use. Silvers with ogres still get curb stomped by top golds with OCAs, etc. I think the population could more than support the three tiers of both districts. Yesterday there were like four 80 population servers. I'd be okay with six 55 pop servers, and with BattlEye confirmed, more and more people are coming back. Locking threats to their districts would solve most of these issues mentioned in the original post. Even if a gold is able to dethreat to silver, they won't be able to massacre bronzes.
  20. At some point, this game becomes pure mathematics, down to the milliseconds. Basically whoever has perfect fire-timing and target acquisition wins. Bronzes and silvers know nothing about this kind of min-maxing their gameplay, and won't ever be able to compete with top golds by being massacred by them. Not much for them to learn when they die in literally 0.70 seconds after peeking. Then again, top golds really can't dethreat to silver since they are, well, top golds. I do think that threats need to be locked to their tiered district and not allow one below. Golds stay in gold etc. It would give a purpose for those dead gold servers.
  21. Queuing in general is a long-needed feature. Offering premium benefits to it is whatever, just put in the game in any form.
