What flag does LO consider political?
BlatMan replied to Pista's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
Gamersfirst banned for the same things. Tiggs banned people over a horse spray. -
This is one of those cases where you need to quit being bothered by everything. Idk how you notice this behavior if you're editing your clothes and symbols.

Damn. I didn't realize Nanichi was so sensitive. -
LO MATMAKING IS THE BEST
BlatMan replied to PonuryZniwiarz's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
And your framerate on those servers is measured in seconds per frame. -
It's a weird limit. It makes more sense if symbol storage had a memory limit, rather than a total custom symbol limit. Like how we have the complexity bar on the bottom, add a second bar that shows the total complexity usage for all symbols. Then players can have tons of basic symbols, or few but very complex symbols, instead of a fixed numeric limit. Than again, I've had symbols on clothing randomly get removed because an update made the complexity bar bigger. Would hate to have that happen with my symbol's inventory.

what happened to overkill hardware?
BlatMan replied to Pista's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
The original Overkill hardware is now10 years old. It's outdated and slow compared to modern hardware. Hardware isn't an issue, but we're limited to whatever LO can afford. LO could host their own physical servers, but I doubt LO have the funding and technical knowledge to do it, going by their latest additions to APB having features missing and broken. Besides, the current issue with the servers isn't the servers themselves. There's network issues between the server host and the DDoS protection provider. You can prove this by running traceroute with UDP packets, using the same port APB is using. The traceroute will look perfect up to the last hop. -

As long as you're not toxic, the chances of support caring is practically 0. Only thing they seem to freak out about is the German WWII solder attire. Ironically, we have some of their weapons, MP 40 (CAP40) and Luger (OCSP). -
What was changed recently? They nerfed the CR762's damage and range a while back. I felt that was too much of a nerf. It dropped it's damage to the same value as having heavy barrel 3 on the pre-nerf version, but without the bloom reduction. It's obvious this patch was going to go poorly. Tests had 90% of the system disabled. You relied on the players to test it, when you could have done all the testing in 1 day with a single workstation and a dozen APB instances logged in with random accounts and random threat data. It's obvious it's not matching threat properly. I got multiple matches with 2 golds vs 2 bronze. Those matches don't happen on the old matchmaking. It would match in a 3rd player for the 2 bronze team.

This has been an issue since the 64 bit upgrade.

New MM is patootie.
BlatMan replied to a Pair of Socks's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
Didn't look like a 2v1 to me. -
It's impossible for me to know if a match is balanced because I don't know the exact threat values. However, I was near max threat when we had the 1-10 threat colors, and have been gold since then. Same story with the players I was grouped with. It's highly unlikely us 3 golds are close in threat to 3 silvers.
-
Well whatever they did, they made matchmaking worse. - Rarely starts a mission with a group of 4. - Can't start a mission with an AFK group member. - Matchmaking by threat is still terrible. Got plenty of 3 golds vs 3 silvers. One mission was 3 golds vs 2 silvers and 1 green. - It takes about a second to ready up, sometimes longer. This leads to group members attempting to ready up twice and canceling it, because they think the first key press didn't register. - There's still the problem with random contact rewards not being unlocked when winning a mission, due to Joker tickets overriding the random rewards.
-
They added a 1 second delay to the ready up function. Press K, wait 1 second, then your character name turns green. It used to be instant. EDIT: And now missions are not starting. Been ready for about 20 minutes in a 40v40 district. Missions do not start when a group member is afk. Little Orbit manage to impress me with the randomt things they manage to break.

EAC is banning for using Flaws's configs now
BlatMan replied to Hexerin's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
I've never been stabbed. Must be a genetic issue. The bans wouldn't seem false if EAC was also banning the speed hackers that play with that 3 letter name Brazilian. -
Hardware specs will really help determine if it's a hardware issue or an APB Reloaded issue. Back in the year 2012, I had lots of stuttering caused by particles (explosions, blood, etc) with two 9600GTin SLI. I needed custom configs to stop the stuttering. Any graphics card older, or lower in performance, than a GTX 960 will have stuttering issues without lowering graphics by editing the config files. Only with Tiggs' and her horses. Other actors didn't seem to cause issues.

BlatMan replied to Hexerin's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
I think it's a hardware driver or a piece of software that EAC doesn't like. The bans are too random. They're not within the same friends group. Sadly we'll never get the answer, because LO isn't going to take the time to work with Epic Games. I also doubt Epic is willing to work with LO. With how poorly LO manage this game, it wouldn't surprise me if it's APB's own code that triggers something in EAC. -
We need a SOLO district right now!

When I try a new game I expect to be patootie at it. I was bronze when I first started, then worked my patootie off to get better, because that's the whole point to playing a competitive game. If I didn't want competition, I wouldn't play a game geared towards it. If anything, the problem now is you can't unlock primitives if you win matches. You have to lose or tie in order to unlock random rewards. A new player wanting to get better will end up screwing themselves over customization wise. They'll leave early on because they'll think they need 1000s of hours just to get that one symbol, or waste money on an Armas pack, but it still doesn't include some oddball items like the wristwatch, which is a random reward. I brought this issue up last year. Still no fix. All we got was an unfinished vehicle. -
So this is how they treat users now?
BlatMan replied to DouglasFalcon's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
You're not the only one. A clan member from back in 2012 recently tried playing. A bunch of stuff is missing from their characters. Support said they couldn't do anything. I saw another friend playing, but it wasn't them. Whoever had the account was speaking Portuguese. Original owner spoke English, and only signed in from US locations. It took months to get their account back, and all support did was give them about 3000 G1C. Nothing was returned to their account. I don't think Little Orbit are logging anything, or support staff don't investigate account breaches. Logs are easy to save, especially basic stuff like IP and MAC. They're probably using a 3rd party for support, who uses number of tickets closed a metric, instead of hours worked. -

Can you blame her? -

The only thing EAC got mad at was the VivoxVoiceService.exe, but it only stopped APB from launching, it doesn't ban. -
Same range as FBW, but better accuracy and lower ttk. It's also cheap to get with joker tickets.
-
I filled out the form, but I don't think anything can be done to improve APB without solving the network problems. The gameplay is drastically different when Little Orbit's service provider isn't throttling your connection. You feel like you have god mode enabled, because no one has time to react due to the low ttk. Currently you need to VPN hop until you find one that isn't throttled. Cloudflare WARP and WARP+ don't work with APB, or their service is blocked. Login works, but can't join districts. APB doesn't support IPv6, which prevents the use of many mobile connections, and limits routes the game data can take. I doubt Little Orbit will do anything meaningful with APB from now on. It took them a year to release an unfinished vehicle. The new matchmaking tests have 99% of the matchmaking features disabled. I tried finishing this post, but the post editor decided to submit the post prematurely.

Solution: Disable Steam shader pre-caching, and delete the old shadercache files. In Steam's settings, disable Shader Pre-caching. - Menu up top > Steam > Settings > Downloads > Enable Shader Pre-caching (uncheck) Then, delete the old shaders. Delete all files in this directory. - /home/username/.steam/steam/steamapps/shadercache/113400/ Drive around the district to compile the vulkan shaders. The game should run better. Original Post: Since the Christmas event ended, I've been having stuttering caused by particles. For example, if I'm driving and a teammate is using blow torch on my vehicle, the game will stutter. It stutters worse the more particles are on my screen. It does not stutter when I use blow torch on a vehicle, which makes no sense. Same with shooting. other players shooting within my screen space causes stuttering, by my own shots do not. I tried resetting the config files and removing the dxvk.conf. I deleted APB's proton files and even tried upgrading to Proton GE 27. Nothing seems to make a difference. I'm wondering if something got screwed up with my Debian installation. I tried installing the Kate text editor one time. With it installed, not even running, it caused display lag. It was somehow preventing APB's window from updating on the screen. Fps was stable, but 2/3 of the frames weren't making it to the monitor. I uninstalled it while APB was running, and it immediately fixed the problem. I removed the orphaned packages that were required for Kate. I still can't get the Nvidia settings to load at login. I have to launch the Nvidia X Server settings app to load the settings.
