GTA and MMOs existed even before APB. I believe the actual problem was choosing a game engine that wasn't build for open world games (at that time) so they had to make stuff from scratch just to make it work and even with that it still has a lot of flaws. The loading times for example are still too long even by today's standards.

Do you happen to know which others are?

What is your sensitivity? I use 800 as well and I have no such issue otherwise I woudl have been irritated to death.

Whoever becomes the nutcracker just runs around without killing anything which makes it impossible to do any of the kill achievements and I started doing it late as well. I doubt event items can be put there.

Seems like an issue with the surface on which you are playing on.

The question is if that will ever happen. There is a reason for the original code to be as it is. Also a lot of other things can happen for an year that can potentially slow the things down even more. Not to mention the xbox version just went live with all the issues.

Other people are having the same issue as me so it seems about right.

What server is this? I barely see 1 full district in Citadel when I play. Speaking of which, I woudl like having the 100 people server cap back.

Most games have EU servers in Germany so I don't see how this is horrible. It is perfect from geographical standpoint. And it is not like the current servers are performing any better either.

Why would it be released if it performs worse? They even said it is their priority to make it run at least as well as the current one before releasing it.

I got people warping at times too yesterday but i thought it is because of the sudden traffic.

I woudl want to know that as well but seems like they haven't got there yet considering having performance issues even on high end machines. As I said earlier, we may not even see engine update at all if they are unable to optimize the performance enough.

Ping is back to 30 but I see people teleport at few times. May be just temporal though.

So I haven't read everything about the engine update yet but seems like they are focusing on the wrong thing. I.e model streaming during driving. But let me tell you something. Low fps while driving isn't much of a bid deal. You can play racing games perfectly fine even at 25 fps. What does matter is performance loss during aiming and fighting. APB has a huge performance issues when rendering particles (smoke and blood mostly) and for some reason there is huge overuse of those in the game. I really hope they address that because my fps drops to a slide show when someone uses a shotgun on me while I am zooming. Nothing kills fps faster than smoke and blood particles in your face.

Same Also how does one even levels up the Nutcracker profession? I got lvl 4 on my criminal but even after 6 games on the enforcer still nothing. It seems like it triggers when it feels like in the past days as well.

I mean it is fun and all but there has to be new content going to keep it fresh. It is no longer a mainstream game either. GTA5 may sux but that is what people are playing (if at all) unfortunately.

The question is if it will ever be able to reach the quality of the current engine since if not, it will be kept hold back. Speaking of which, what is your opinion abut the current build? Do you think it is almost there performance wise?

We had screenshots even back in the days but it never got any further than that. Really? Well that sounds way more promising but even with that any bug regarding customization or owned items can be a showstopper at any time even if the gameplay works.

I feel like the only reason this game is sill holding is because people are still waiting for the engine update. I mean, just think about it from a marketing standpoint. What happens if the engine update comes and it ends up being bad? There will be nothing to look forward. Anyway, idk how competent the new team is but seems like history is repeating itself so far. X delayed because of Y and so on to infinity.

I think the proper question is IF it is coming at all. I have been waiting for it since 2014 and it was a thing even before that. Also the xbox version was god awful looking and with performance issues. Unless something has changed for those years, this is what we are going to get. I don't want to scare you but just just don't have your expectations high and take the game for what it is.
