Mission Impossible Patch Announcement
Noob_Guardian replied to Sakebee's topic in General Discussion Archive
Why should flak make you impervious to explosive death if Valisparsms won't make you impervious to being run over? On note of the changes: Looks pretty f#$@#n great! I'm looking forward to the updates. -
They made it so that you couldn't sprint/jump with heavy items I thought, i haven't seen it done on heavy items since then in either, or did Kemp find a way to bypass it? If so he's the only person i've heard of who's done so.
-
Heavy item jump sprint w/e its called was also "fixed" so i'm not really worried about it. I do agree with the fact that they removed item pickup animations and that they "could" be reimplemented. Games have even lower TTK's than APB and have animations, so that's not even an excuse honestly. Missions need better drop locations for some of em, but there's no reason not to fix it. People say "fix mission locations then we don't need it", but even if they did fix the small handful of problem locations, they still wouldn't want it fixed.

Tell me about your most hated weapon

I do better with the scout than the current HVR, and i have no problem with the HVR. Also, DMR performs better than HVR at range, and if firing first, has a faster TTK and will finish the HVR faster. APB is a team game, as such the general "optimal" loadout for a "team" has always been 1 sniper, 1/2 AR's, 1/2 Pointman. As such, if you're team is complaining about counter play, may i suggest... changing weapons? There are some broke patootie locations in Waterfront, that has nothing to do with snipers being strong either. I've seen those locations held with AR's and Rifles all the same against sniper teams with rockets. VIP is a very annoying last stage as well, so that doesn't help in the slightest. -
I mean, i have 3x more than him, actually had people complaining about me being active on forums saying i was "strong arming" LO and G1 to balance things certain ways lel. There's nothing wrong with people being a "furry". There is a problem with people being self righteous for litterally "no" reason. Asked for better balance of crap tier weapons. I don't remember anyone asking for ray scaling "specifically" in any situation. Merged. What's laughable is being able to 2 shot kill only hitting 6 of the needed 16 shots. That still equates to 3/8. Soo, my math may have not been full accurate, since "full damage" of the gun is like 1700? damage, but full damage on a player is only 1000 without kev. My point was for people SPECIFICALLY ASKING for RAYSCALING. I've been calling for balance of different weapons for years as have others, that doesn't mean people were calling for "RAYSCALING". No one to my knowledge specifically asked for rayscaling on forums or in game, so if we're being honest, saying "well people wanted balance" and claiming that they meant rayscaling IS dishonest because most people specifically stated other ways to balance things. That's like some artist saying "I want red" then his assistant grabbing maroon paint because "it's red you asked for it".

Rayscaling would have been fine, but they didn't balance rayscaling properly at all. Imagine a shotgun that only has to hit 3 of 8 pellets to do full damage. That's stupid af. Most shotguns in other games 1 shot off a full shot with "most" pellots, but that'd be broke AF in APB. Rayscaling would work "better" for a key "few" shotguns when done right (looking at massive spread ones), but others wouldn't need it. Should have need "most" shots to hit for rayscaling to do normal damage. Like, make JG fire 10 shots, then make it so 8 does full damage still type of rayscale. Strife, CSG, and dow (out of mm), and shredder probably wouldn't need it, other high spread ones could use it if done right. It's not even like anyone "asked" for rayscaling to my knowledge either, so you can get off that high horse.

When using a non-mobile weapon - PMG, Oscar, Carbine When using a mobile weapon - PMG When I'm playing like a bronze with not only no situational awareness, but no care to counter play - HVR. (sarcasm btw, the only thing i hate about hvr is the shitty out of mm damage) Imagine being unable to counterplay a silver or bronze who's using an hvr -
I mean, that sounds right, but at the same time I swear i've fired 3 consecutive scout shots and killed someone 2 hits. and that's closer to 2.75-3s than .8...

Pretty sure early G1 GM's stated jump kicking doors was okay. Jump kicking a door is far less gamebreaking than moving medium items at sprint speed. It shouldn't even be a relation it's so different. G1 had never stated as such for the medium item exploit. In fact, i can't recall them saying anything about heavy items either before fixing heavy item movement. Last I checked "exploits" ARE bannable, they're called exploits for a reason. G1 had been lazy in regards to anything gameplay breaking wise, and they were extremely half assed on a lot of things, from fixing broken locations, to balancing missions. Hell, they even broke overtime instead of fixing it. What should happen is carrying lets you whip out a pistol, but still move at that speed, unless you activate some dumb new consumable to sprint with the item with.

Plot twist, it's the wrong helicopter

I've had this issue with dethreaters and those with like nazi symbols or other such verbal things. Wish it was fixed.
-
i mean exploits ARE bannable as well, you say "only allows you to move at sprint speed" but that's still bypassing the base speed of 3 m/s for medium items ensuring the enemies can NEVER catch up if you're ahead of them without using fragile (still a lost cause)/epiphrene/vehicle. Heavy's were fixed, but you can still "somewhat" move them like... 2m/s instead of 1 which isn't actually a problem. lol But yeah screaming cheats during the beta test? Really? esports community? what nonsense is that tho? Honestly though, that must explain why all the toxic kids always run potato graphics with crap resolution on high end gaming computers. looks like another dumb thing that needs fixed

G1 had used it for manual bans, and the system and players were doing flagging. They never said anything about automatic to my knowledge. They used FF i think? to ban all those who did the social exploit crashes and such. I think there were only a handful of cases where players weren't listed as "FF Ban" when banned by the end. So im not sure how it could have picked up on you unless it was something manual from another player reporting, or like, facing bronzes all day and just not missing because they're piss ez to take out and having an inflated k/d and miss %.

Un-Anniversary Patch Announcement
Noob_Guardian replied to Sakebee's topic in General Discussion Archive
Granted, making it visible for example and shortening the time to 10s would have been fine, but increasing the timer?? Like.. you can firework spam far more reliably and with far less a downside than spotter mod now, and that ends up being more reliable since you can shoot it behind walls. Sure you give up a pistol slot, but you don't necessarily need one for half the weapons anyways. -

I mean, ive had teamates who used it, went 2-3v1 on that guy and still got wiped lol. If i think i'm getting spotted, i tend to play the decoy for my team to set up, but you can generally tell when someone's peaking you if you're looking at the obj. I dunno, i've never had issues with it so i'm going to assume most people just want a scapegoat for their bad plays. -
If you're testing FF to see how it bans, then you'd know what makes you get banned and try to achieve it. Isn't that what testing is? Not only that, if some of the "best" players on Jericho weren't falsely banned, some of which have near cheater like skill whom you'd assume cheated or would trigger FF, I find it hard to believe that anyone legitimately got banned. (without first knowing how to trigger it and test for it)

all the haters disagree. I can't honestly say that spotter ever made me lose a match. I've seen it used to no avail, and other times i've found it having been useful, if only because my teamates weren't in voicechat/actually communicating with the team. As such it feels that the better the team, the less use it has. If you're a good player with good communication, other mods will be far more useful. -
that was once to my knowledge, and they unbanned the like 300 people like the next day over it lol. Most of G1/RP's bans were manual and intentionally done. They would flag someone, then ban em manually. Automatic bans were near non existent.
