08/14 MAINTENANCE ANNOUNCEMENT

Hello everybody,

 

Our standard weekly maintenance will be held this Thursday (08/14) starting at 12 PM UTC. The game should be back up and running in 6 to 8 hours.

 

Patch notes

  • Fixed an issue causing player characters to slide whilst above a certain Frame rate threshold.
  • Fixed an issue causing the crosshair accuracy to rapidly jump between different values whilst moving in Marksmanship mode at high Frame rates.

 

Additionally we have decided to extend the Anniversary event and sale by another week! Now scheduled to end on the 20th.

when will you fix the entering to districts( fightclub or etc)? many accounts have a problem with this. That most critical issue

Now that's some great fixes on paper.  Here's hoping this just fixes the issues completely without any funky business.

 

As the obnoxious sniper main this really was an annoyance to say the least.

Oh so it DOES end!
I have been looking at the Blog / Steam-news page and it said it was 'live' at the time of the post but it never said any date it would 'end'.


I frankly don't even know what 'event' there is but I'm gonna assume it's just JT roles to gain (and titles).

Would have been nice to read on the blog which dates the event is live. Guess I better haul my arse over to Sin Paradise (as I like to call it).

I have to give praise where praise is due, this is a great patch. In fact, this patch is far greater in quality of life compared to previous patches.
Finally, after years of being broken, the sliding bug is (allegedly) fixed.
Let's hope it doesn't have any hidden repercussions for the player and that the "fix" works for any frame rate you throw the game at.
This game is finally ready for +500Hz displays. Maybe even +1000Hz ready if on 9800x3d (I recall seeing a streamer get these frame rates), which would be a rarity in today's market. This alone is a feature worth marketing the game with, the ability to attain large frame rates, making it ready for "low" persistence gaming.
(Note: Before anyone comes and says this is redundant, unnecessary or the worst one "overkill", persistence is the #1 graphical fidelity upgrade to any game. Our eyes are able to see >4000FPS @ >4000Hz in terms of refresh rate)

Now that this sliding bug is out of the way, implementing a proper frametime limiter (akin to Special-K) and/or fixing crosshair representation to be applicable to above 10m should be looked at. Or, akin to Trackmania, implement the ability to sync CPU & GPU pipelines & have the ability to toggle between 1,2,3 frames ahead.

Perhaps even some UI changes, such as:
• Creating a keybind setting for the notification ping system. It gets tiresome to open the map, find the location you're at and estimate the location you want to ping to your group or team. Think of OW, CS or Apex "pings".
• Fixing the inaccurate/misleading UI descriptions of weapon statistics by changing the representation from bars to fixed, numerical values.

• I believe the game UI is also not ready for larger resolutions (1080p, 1440p or larger), perhaps taking a look at that could be desirable.

I'd also like to see a return of the old /fps_detail menu, removing the nasty scaleform UI we have which is detrimental to performance 🙂

No, for now we're focussing on GFAC and its effectiveness - There will be more news about the Legends update in the near future.

current UTC time is 2:23PM ... Servers went down in 12 PM UTC time...meaning servers are down 2 hours and 23 minutes as of now. So which 9.5 hours are you dreaming about???

While i can confirm that those two fixes are working (finally), i no more get any sound from my FiiO K7 (32bit, 48000KHz) plus it takes minutes to log in (connecting to the world server)

yep its loging in very slowly.no sound in game at all ....

do a repair on the game that fixed the sound for me.

@MageLO I can report that loading speed is fine but absolutelly no sound in the character select menu nor in game, i turned it all the way up n no sound. 

thats from NA n I live near LA so low ms

 

New report.  I did a launcher repair and my sound is back. So No issues Magelo. 

However some are reporting slow log in loading or world loading, infinite loading from discord. 

I had no problem with loading log in or world, got right in.

ill check my mods...

sound is there on OTW client (unmodded) with anything below 32bit, 352KHz (192KHz and lower)

after repairing live client its now working once again

holy shit its stuck connecting to world server and their new state of art anticheat not allowing me to kill APB.exe process

nope,i did a repair on the original client side launcher i dont use advanced launcher.

i got stuck loading the world, after 10 minutes the game is crashing, tried APB launcher and advanced launcher and its not working 

is there something more to do ?

somehow, sound issues were related to anticheat.

all i've done is uninstalled GFAC, ran APBLauncher.exe from the OTW client, let it download the updates, applied my mods again and sound is now back.
