i guess is time to talk about APB: Open Source.
That had should be done when we had 10k of players. with a good 1 % with nice coding skills.
New content and New gameplay.

I wish too,
but I guess we underestimate the amount of spaghetti in this codebase.

@Queen of Love, @Talla, @Ardita - I absolutely agree, but somehow I doubt this will ever happen. :(

One thing I did notice while chatting with other veterans is the prevalent duplicity in connection with APB, on the one hand they were sad APB was suddenly down (with like 99.9% quoting that they will miss their customisations, but not the messy rest) and on the other hand  they seemed to be relieved on some level (with many stating that it was a long time coming). It is so weird.

You referring to new content and new gameplay as QoL mentioned? Well, I kind of understand if that is your opinion, although to keep the vets "satisfied" as they're the huge supporters and donators at Armas Marketplace, there needs to be some new content.

I miss the customization every single day 😞

@Ardita - Absolutely, the insane level of customisation options for players is THE best thing of the game (and to my knowledge unique in its scope, as I do not know even a single game that offers but a fraction of those options), this is also something that I think about everyone that ever played APB agrees on. I love my custom cars and clothes - so for me this will always be the BEST part of this game (and probably is the very reason why people still play).

I might be "jaded" in regards to gameplay though, as our very tiny police rp centred clan long, long, long ago stopped playing those (in our opinion) god awful normal missions. We only played and engaged in the tiny open world part available in game (always hoping that this might one day be a bit more expanded or worked on - but of course it never was and very likely never will). Do not get me wrong things were lots and lots of fun over the years (we had countless of awesome pursuits with fellow enforces and criminals alike, even doing custom pursuits with people just for the fun of it, matching our driving skills), but over the past year or so, less and less players engaged in any open world activities and these days, you literally spent hours just driving around the two districts with nothing to do in regards to the open world part, except maybe impound the odd vehicle left at the side of the road. So from that (granted narrow) standpoint things are not even a slim shadow of what things were like back in the day, when you really had one pursuit/chase after the other and never even chased the same persons twice during an evening. (We never found it even remotely funny to chase the same guys over and over and over.)

Sorry for the "wall of text", am just a bit sad about that...

@Romique - Oh I do agree! Case in point: Our little clan was founded in APB more than a decade ago, but eventually we started to play other games together as well, simply because we enjoyed playing games together. I would not want to miss a single one of those people  🙂

For Little Orbit:
If you have the crown,
If you have the crown,
And if you are frown,

And if you are frown,
Put the game down
For these clowns
In this town.
Now they are drowned

I totally agree, the customization part is so unique and simply the best of the best with this game. In my opinion, absolutely.

You guys role playing in APB (or did)? Didn't though that would had a chance at the current state of the game.

To add on to what you said, I’m a 2010 veteran of APB, I still have the disc somewhere and I miss every single bit of this game. Back then, it was something special. The community was vast, diverse, and full of potential with a fun and active community. It felt alive, and the connections I made with people during that time? I’ll never forget them. I miss those days, plain and simple. Honestly, it’s heartbreaking to see how things have gone over the years, but even after more than a decade and a half, there are still a handful of amazing players out there. I won’t throw names around because there are far too many to list, but there are still passionate folks holding the torch. Despite the game’s fall from grace... so to speak, I can’t help but appreciate that dedication.

Now, with the recent delays in APB Reloaded, I feel like it’s probably a good thing. It’s a much-needed break for everyone — maybe even an opportunity to “touch grass” and reconnect with life outside the blaring screen. But there’s something else to it too. it’s a testament to how much some players still care. It’s easy to forget how invested people are in the game’s survival, even in its current state. It speaks volumes about the community for those who play the game, both the good and the bad players like hackers or trolls. It’s not perfect, far from it, but APB was something different, and those who remember that still hold on tight. And for that, I’ll always be grateful as I play it for what it is, eventually the game will grow out to be more than what it already is.

From the looks of things over on Matt Scotts Twitter and the APB Reloaded Discord, it seems that we might be getting the servers fully online sometime this weekend, or perhaps within the next few weeks in March. We can only hope for the best.

I hope it goes online soon.

I'm checking the forum-feed every day to see if APB is up again.

The weird thing with APB:R is (kinda the same I have with TF2). I'd never play it 'THAT' much nowadays. But it has made such a mark on my childhood and sticking with me as I grow up as a person, that:
Despite not playing the games that much, hearing APB:R would shut down would be HEARTBREAKING for me. I'd probably play it endlessly whilst I still can. I don't want to let go of an old friend...

Besides, my stream account hasn't reached the goal of rank 185 as a true Free-To-Play yet. ;_;

I have so hard understanding this as well. I even mentioned @Emily about this and literally nothing happens.

You need to go an external platform(s) to find information about current state of the game. Wow.
