Repeatedly Installing Battleye

Recommended Posts

Do you have an AMD processor? I know the agesa motherboard drivers have conflict and you need to flash the bios to an earlier bridge bios and not the more recent ones.

This is usually caused by missing registry entries for the game, e.g. if you run it from a previous Windows installation. Try running the APB installer again and install it to the same location.

It's an issue if you install through steam I'm pretty sure... Happens to me every time I reinstall it 😕

Doesn't help.  Steam install here and it just keeps doing it.

Hi guys,

We will continue to test this, and see if we can come up with a fix.

Thanks,
Matt

you can try using something like revo uninstaller to remove all apb and registries and stuff

and then you can try to reinstall apb again

How about you try starting the game without the launcher ?

Could you please tell me what AGESA version you are talking about ? It'd be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Ya to get around it I launch without using the launcher.  Could also edit the TPI file but in teh battle eye days now I don't wanna monkey with too many things.

Might be my potato of a pc. But everytime I run APB Reloaded and get the launcher it 1) Installs Battle-eye again indeed. And 2) It tries to install DirectX every single time.

I don't know if this is supposed to happen (because I highly doubt I, as a gamer, do not already have DirectX installed), but then again I got no clue on how DirectX works :P

So it might just be me, but I just felt like posting it. I don't find it annoying or anything, but I just wanted to give a heads-up.

I have an workaround fix, not the best but it does the job. Navigate to \Steam\steamapps\common\APB Reloaded\TPI , Open TPI.xml with notepad , look for

<InstallerInfo>
    <Name>DirectX</Name>
    <DllRelativePath>DirectX\DirectXInstaller.DLL</DllRelativePath>
    <SetupFileRelativePath>DirectX\DirectX_June2010program</SetupFileRelativePath>
  </InstallerInfo>

And delete it. Same goes for BE installer : look for

<InstallerInfo>
    <Name>BattleEye</Name>
    <DllRelativePath>BattleEye\BattleEyeInstaller.DLL</DllRelativePath>
    <SetupFileRelativePath>..\Binaries\APB_BEprogram</SetupFileRelativePath>
  </InstallerInfo>

And delete it. Save it and you are done.

@MattScott

The Steam version of APB does not add a few lines to the registry, a gamersfirst folder.

Without this line the launcher will always try to install DX and Battleye.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\GamersFirst\APB]
"directX ShipDate"="04.18.2011"

Once the above is added, the BE installer will run once and add the following.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\GamersFirst\APB\1]
"Installation Language"="1033"
"Installation Path"="E:\\STEAM\\STEAMAPPS\\COMMON\\APB RELOADED"
"BattleEyeInstalled"="True"
"Installation Type"="110101119"

For anyone looking at this, your installation path will be different.

This is the fix

I know about this fix, but not sure if it's allowed. I just got unbanned, not in a hurry to return there. I'll sit and wait the extra minute to start up the game lol
